  • Florida Keys Kayak Fishing Tips - Geiger Key Fishing Spots.
    Since there will be an influx of White Walkers coming down from the mainland, I figured providing a few spots to target will make things a bit more enjoyable. I utilize the Geiger Key public boat launch quite often in my videos and I know lots of kayakers like to use it as well. The issue any time you fish a new location is knowing where to go. Since many vacationers don't have a lot of time for scouting out locations, I created this video to show some of my "secret" spots that I like to hit on my fun fishing days.
    Hope it helps, and have a good time in the Keys.

    I think it’s super cool how u don’t mind sharing your fishing spots- u definitely understand that one person can’t and won’t catch every fish in the area… it’s so lame how some ppl won’t share where they fish.

    I want to thank you. Not many fishermen who are on UA-cam will show you where they fish but you go out of your way to not only show us where you are but also where to get the bait and the fish. I have been subscribed since you only had about 44 subscriptions so I know why it is that you have gotten so popular so quick!!! Between you and Zoffinger I have learned so very much about fishing form the kayak! Keep up the great work!

    Thank you for posting these videos. I only recently discovered your channel. This video in particular is good for us because we plan to bring our sailboat from Marathon and anchor off Shark Channel (near location #6 in the video) once we are allowed back into the Keys post-Coronavirus. I am better at spear fishing, but have been looking to improve my rod fishing skills. We can use our 8’ dinghy as a platform to fish the shallow areas around the mangroves. I look forward to enjoying more of your videos.

    Must be nice not having to worry much about crocs while you get into those mangroves, plenty of snapper/grouper holes guarded by crocs in biscayne lol...

    Have you ever had an issue by letting your car parked on the side of the geiger key boat ramp. I looked for some info online and the FWC site states that the geiger key public launch has 6 spots for vehicle with trailer but 0 spots for vehicle only. I'm concerned on getting my car towed. Any advise?

    • @KeyWestKayakFishing
      @KeyWestKayakFishing  7 років тому +1

      No problems. Cars can park anywhere as there is no assigned spots for anything. It is just a big dirt lot. Plus you can just park outside the fence. Plenty of room. People park there at all hours. The bar/restaurant rv park is right next door plus it is at the end of a dead end road so no parking issues.

    Any recommendations on a 2 person fishing kayak?

    • @KeyWestKayakFishing
      @KeyWestKayakFishing  7 років тому

      Buy two separate kayaks. Much better for both sides. The only suggestion is to make sure it is convertible to a single paddle option otherwise it is a pain if you want to do a solo. I would still suggest two separate kayaks.

    i kniw i have asked before but what outrigger system do you use. i have been looking at some but they are all so small i want one like you have.

    • @ShadowsPhotography1
      @ShadowsPhotography1 7 років тому

      That is the Hobie Adventure Island outriger add-on. I have been looking for one also to try and adapt it to my Hobie PA 14. It really is great with that motor mount on it!

    • @masterofnone8210
      @masterofnone8210 7 років тому

      Deutly Leito thats what i want to do i want to adapt it to my little yak so i can mount a trolling motor to it and and add stability.

    • @ShadowsPhotography1
      @ShadowsPhotography1 7 років тому

      NC coastal kayak fishing exactly. My PA is very stable but I'm a very big guy (6"2' 330 lbs) and want to make it more secure so I can try my hand at some offshore for some big snapper!

    • @masterofnone8210
      @masterofnone8210 7 років тому

      Deutly Leito same deal here my little yak only has a 300 lb limit on it and im 260 of it. i dont go off shore but i want to stand up.

    • @ShadowsPhotography1

      NC coastal kayak fishing I'm also looking into making some. Have seen some vids on how to do it so maybe adapt the AMA to a home-made brace.

    when's a Snook episode?

    I'm curious...why do most fisherman call Amberjack donkeys? Are they not edible? Most fishermen throw them back after an impressive fight. They seem like they would be delicious. Also, I've seen videos of very exclusive sushi restaurants serving Amberjack as a premium slice atop sticky rice. So, why the disparaging comments about Jacks?

    • @coraldecuba6638
      @coraldecuba6638 7 років тому

      goombamike49 They are strong and stubborn to come to the surface since they can adapt they bladder all the way up watch the bubbles, lots of long round worms in the meat, so it's up to you. bon appetit!

    • @goombamike4989
      @goombamike4989 7 років тому

      There had to be some reason, I figured. Thanks for enlightening me, as we don't often see this species on the Pacific side. They look like a great fighting fish, but when I see fisherman bring them in they have the expression like they just reeled in a bag of crap. I would be jumping for joy.

    • @coraldecuba6638
