Slum Stories: Israel - Gaza intifada bombings

The town of Abed Rabbo was heavily bombed during 'Operation Cast Lead', the military conflict between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas that took place in 2008 and 2009 in the Gaza Strip. The town's inhabitants lost their homes and their possessions. Mohammed recounts: 'We were completely surprised by this violent conflict. We cried and screamed about what we found. Our life's work was destroyed. There was little help from anyone. We didn't even receive humanitarian aid.'
