I think the commentary was more of a " potatoes where good "..... for a hotel cooking staff making them in large portions. I've had plenty of food that is good under the circumstances. Sometimes the circumstances just call for it to be edible and convenient.
Once I went to a hotel and the free breakfast was really really good. They had basically anything you could imagine and all of them were good quality and not soggy somehow. Pastrys, eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, pancakes, coffee, tea, orange juice, tons of condiments. They basically had everything lol

I'm surprised you didn't combined it into a breakfast sandwich. The biscuits as the bread, gravey and Sriracha as sauce, and the sausage, potatoes, eggs as the fillings.

I remember when I was younger and was staying at this hotel for vacation. During one morning, I didn’t have an appetite at breakfast but once I tried the waffles my appetite came out of nowhere. I went back multiple times just for the waffles and the person who was making the waffles came out the kitchen to talk to me (I guess they saw me because the waffles were right beneath the ordering window) and they gave me more waffles in a ‘to go container ’ lol!
whenever we go to a hotel my dad always rushes down there with one of my brothers and gets food for us and then sits down in the lobby until we came down to eat

As someone who used to travel for a living before Covid, if a hotel with free breakfast has biscuits & gravy + siracha packets, that’s the fanciest breakfast you’re gonna get
@@kelsey2333 I don’t know if you’ve ever been to a home show or county fair but companies will buy booth space at them to sell their items. My team’s job was to order everything these booths needed for design and function. We would also often travel to some of them to help facilitate set up. During fair season its not uncommon to be home for maybe a weeks worth of time each month from May to October

I remember going to those as a kid! I always loved the waffle makers! Reminds me of the most recent time I got a hotel breakfast. It was running from 6-10 and it was just me and my youngest brother in the room. I woke up, checked the time, it was 9:30. We RUSHED downstairs and luckily had enough time to eat. Good times
I'm a breakfast person cause the atmosphere in the morning bring up the mood while I'm eating and you can literally eat anything like a simple toast or a whole breakfast buffet

@@tjaspire We've got a lot of lazy cooks that make a lot of things very bland but there's a lot of traditional dishes that are great. The blank cooking mostly came as a result of war rationing but boomers are the last generation to retain any of that from their parents. Most younger people are very adventurous and love flavour. Our best traditional dishes are mostly in the hearty/winter warmer category. Shepherds/Cottage Pie, Steak & Kidney Pie, Toad in the Hole (sausages cooked in a bed of batter), fish & chips, a good roast (most people make it bland by just boiling the veg and not seasoning the meat), fruit crumbles & custard, Eton Mess (crushed meringue, strawberries & cream), beef wellington, sticky toffee pudding, full english breakfasts, various regional pasties, christmas pudding, bread & butter pudding and most British people would say Curry as well because we've got loads of really great places for that and Brits love it.
It’s literally just flour water/milk and grease etc from like bacon or sausage it also as sausage in it but it’s the fact Brit’s eat beans and toast and that’s disgusting

Always go for the waffles at hotel breakfasts. Those commercial grade waffle irons give you a light and crispy waffle that just isnt obtainable at home unless you have a really good waffle iron.
Those hasbrowns actually look so good and made in house. I worked in a hotel and we always used SYSCO precut McCain style ones which are quick and do the trick but def not the same.
Growing up Mexican eggs with salsa/chile is a must! Two popular breakfast dishes are huevos rancheros (one style sauce, typically red) and huevos divorciados (red and green salsa, 1 on each egg). You should give them try! And if the salsa isn’t spicy enough we eat with chile Serrano or a different salsa to bring in the heat!
There is nothing better than going to a hotel! Me and mom go on mini vacations and stay at hotels a state or two over from us and we go shopping and go to nice restaurants. It’s pretty fun!
Maple syrup with breakfast sausages always tasted on point to me. Maybe I'm just weird. Mcgriddles tried to capture that I believe. Now I'm craving one.

Unless you are in Canada it’s rarely maple syrup it’s often table syrup and it does it doesnt taste the same at all; nothing beats maple syrup 😍
Something that still blows my mind is that in the USA hotels use disposable plates and cutlery. Even like really expensive hotels do that !
