🙏 👍 I’m 70ish now and saw Bruce live for the 1st in person, in NJ during at a Coldplay concert no less, a few years ago. He showed up at the finale as a ‘surprise’ guest and sang ‘Dancing in the Dark’ + ‘I’m on Fire’ with Chris Martin. 👏👏 BOTH of them!
I'm 57 now when I was 28 I fell in love with a girl named Becky as The Story Goes she went to college for a second semester I bought her an engagement ring thousand dollar ring I wanted to marry her she told me our love was forever because I understood her more than anyone ever did but when she came back she had changed her mind I was still in love and she brought another guy to a party that my friends had thrown so we could get along when I saw her sitting in talking with him I wish I was blind
Have been listen to springsteen in around 30 years. I m 45 yo. But this song is "new" to me and it really did tough me. I dont feel so sad now but who cant recognize such pain and struggling. And the melody. The guitar. Damn, I like this song.
I'm 55 years old. Only seen him 3 times but I'll never forget one performance at Bonaroo. 2008 or so. Played 3 hours, outside, in 90+ degree temps. Would dunk his head in a bowl of ice water in between songs. Dude is a MONSTER and absolutely the best show you'll ever see. There is a reason why he's called, "The Boss". See one of his shows and you'll understand.
One of the most underrated and overlooked songs in his library. Perhaps because it came from a mediocre album. The Boss followed a typical Neil Diamond formula by taking 4 simple chords, beautiful synth strings and organ and writing extremely emotional, gut wrenching, lyrics. Even the guitar solos cry/wail with emotion. He's even singing it beautifully and for all his greatness, he's more known for being a storyteller than singing a tearjerker. This one is both. Neil would be proud. FYI, an interesting note is that on the original recording (off the Human Touch album), the person singing harmony with Bruce is none other than the late Bobby Hatfield, the second half of the Righteous Brothers.
this is just a masterpiece on every level. Its heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. The musicianship all around is stunning. I believe this is Bruce Springsteen’s most underrated song.

I love to see the cottonwood blossom
In the early spring
I love to see the message of love
That the bluebird brings
But when I see you walkin' with him
Down along the strand
I wish I were blind
When I see you with your man
I love to see your hair shining
In the long summer's light
I love to watch the stars fill the sky
On a summer night
The music plays you take his hand
I watch how you touch him as you start to dance
And I wish I were blind
When I see you with your man
We struggle here but all our love's in vain
Oh these eyes that once filled me with your beauty
Now fill me with pain
And the light that once entered here
Is banished from me
And this darkness is all baby that my heart sees
And though this world is filled
With the grace and beauty of God's hand
Oh I wish I were blind
When I see you with your man

Breathtaking Bruce ❤❤❤
He tuned the guitar that created a tone that literally sheds tears
I meant to say that he tuned his guitar in such a way that it creates a tone that literally sheds tears.
What tuning?
I am not sure what the original poster meant by his comment. Bruce is playing this song in standard tuning.
Love so much listening, the best sad song I ever listened and Bruce sang beautifully.
A true masterpiece, thanks for the cool music and songs Bruce😊

The boss !
No.....he is the Boss
La voz de Bruce y su música te transportan directamente al cielo❤
Have been listen to springsteen in around 30 years. I m 45 yo. But this song is "new" to me and it really did tough me. I dont feel so sad now but who cant recognize such pain and struggling. And the melody. The guitar. Damn, I like this song.
Beautiful version of a beautiful song.
I just heard it for the first time and can’t believe he didn’t include it on his tour a few years ago- it’s beautiful
the fineness of rocknroll.
A beautiful love song. Love Bruce Always ❤️
I love to see....this man, this video, this song...come to life.
Truly one of his greatest!!!
Bruce ist ein Genie, ein Dichter mit einer wunderschönen Stimme ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dazu noch so gutaussehend ❤❤❤❤
Bruce’s best tone , with his “ other “ Band..!!!!!!
❤one of my favourites too beautiful Bruce
Incredible straight to the heart amazing and talented man
First time hearing this version..... beautiful x
I adore this song anyway, we all have that one lost love 😢
