I did RV inspections for a few years after I retired from my Career Job. Just like a Buyers Agent for a residence. Folks who aren't familiar with RV construction will be miles ahead by having their possible purchases inspected by someone who is an expert in them and will follow an inspection list and be very thorough. I spent several years in an RV Factory so I knew them inside out. Plus I've always owned an RV and enjoyed making the maintenance a hobby. I have never been turned away from any reputable RV Dealership. Just make sure your Buyers Agent doesn't have any financial connections with the Dealerships. SO, I highly approve of Liz's Video.
I was just telling my daughter that she should try to get into RV inspection school somewhere on Thursday and here you are. I sent her your link. A FEMALE RV Inspector, right on.
This is so very important to your followers! I can NOT amagine NOT doing this type of inspection as we'll be living in it full time as we build our house. Liz, we can't thank you enough for your wisdom and loving us enough to share so much! And Debbie just flat out ROCKS in the RV world' thanks Debbie.👍❤
Excellent points. I agree, even new there are so many issues that get overlooked. Trying to get work done under warranty is a nightmare as well. The industry is so full of deceit.
Yep. Buyer beware for sure. Thanks for watching and stay tuned. I'll be talking about this again soon as I have new information about my motorhome. See you then.
Yes! This is another huge topic that does not get discussed enough in a public forum! There is a lack of education and a lack of honest dealers. My neighbors had a terrible time with a brand new RV. Every time they took it out camping, there was a new issue. And every time they took it back in for repairs, it came back to them in worse condition. Additionally, the stealership tried to charge them for things that were covered by warranty, essentially "double dipping."
I wished I saw this video before I purchased my RV. I bought a used RV and so far its doesn't have many issues. The exception was the heating system fluid which provides radiant heat, heats the water should be flushed and filled every 2 years. I discovered this had never been done. Luckily none of the hoses had not started bulging from old fluid and ruining the heater, if hey had it would be very costly to replace that entire (Alde) system. If fact, if I had known how much it cost having the service done on that system I would not have purchased that RV. Having these inspections done can really save a potential buyer a lot of money. Thank you for interviewing this lady,
The trouble with roof leaks, particularly near vertical walls, is water tends to run down into the wall itself. This is often what causes delamination on side walls, because water seeping behind the surface has broken down the glue, wood, or both.
I had an inspection on a brand new Winnebago Adventure 2021 No problems. Im a happy 68 yr old woman now. Yes i knew knew that new ones have problems too. I am solo fulltime
We did not have our last RV inspected before we bought it. However, we had it inspected soon after so we could fix everything that needed to be fixed. One of the main things we needed to do was to replace our tires. We suggest that people have the RV inspected before purchasing for sure. Mary 💕 Fred
So glad to hear this, Mary and Fred. I sure appreciate you taking the time to comment. I think as the word gets out RV inspections will become more common. Thanks for watching.
👍 I did Home Inspections for prospective buyers before it was common. I charged by the hour and started with what could be deal killers and where possible had the buyer walk with me. That way, we could call it quits and save the buyer a lot of $$ by them only paying for time taken, not for a whole inspection. You seem an inspector with integrity. Thank you!
Thank you for the advice. In 40 years and 5 different TTs I'd never heard of an RV inspector, relying on my observation and skills to deal with any problems that arose in RVs from the 1970s through 2022--some major! I will be doing a thorough shakedown of my slightly used 2022 Starcraft in the coming weeks to ensure a trouble free season this year.
That's great, Doug. And yes, inspectors are a big deal nowadays, just like how we never heard of home inspectors until relatively recently. Thanks for watching!
Great video Liz. One thing I really appreciate is your willingness to help others learn from things you would have done differently. That shows me your committment to helping the RV community.
This is a huge topic not discussed nearly enough! So many people bet burned both from a dealer and privately. There is such a lack of education available. I am certain the stealerships don't want people to know when an RV is bad news. When my husband I were looking for our used unit, we were flabbergasted at all the evidence of maintenance neglect we were seeing, and we only knew enough to be dangerous at the time. If the owners did not take care of the inside, they probably didn't take care of the outside either. We ended up buying a much newer unit (more $$$) than we wanted to, so that the unit hadn't had enough time to suffer the effects of maintenance neglect, and we STILL ended up with an issue from the manufacturer that an inspector would not have likely noticed either. It's really hard to win at this. We are looking to upgrade after this camping season, and I feel like even after we go over it with a fine tooth comb, knowing more now then we ever havem we should pay for an inspection as well as read up everything we can find on the unit we are looking at, especially owner forums. There are lots of gems to be found there.
Thank you. Yes, it can be a fulltime job searching for a camper. So many things to think about, so many things to look at. An inspector can definitely add a lot of peace of mind. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
I sure wish I had gotten a professional inspection when I bought my RV from a dealer. Using the black tank flushing line flooded the RV with fresh water and rotted the under flooring. Surely, they had known about it when I purchased it. RV retailers are unscrupulous.
Oh no. I didn't realize that happened. Yep, the dealers have a bad reputation for good reason. At least you got some good traveling with yours and got to meet interesting people in campgrounds :)
Randy, call out the dealer by name and be sure to write a yelp review also. The community needs your real experience feedback. I do not recommend Pan Pacific in French Camp for insurance repairs. You will not get quality work and neither that dealer nor the ins adjuster cares. $7k for a cabinet replacement after a tire blowout. A substandard 3 mo amateur job, and long before the pandemic hit.
I wish I would have seen this a year ago. The biggest repair I put was into the truck it needed a new front end built and that cost me 3000. But the truck runs great now and the heater in it alone has saved me on a couple freezing nights!! Great video thank you both 💕
In our search for our dream RV we ended up walking away from a brand new Newmar due to a slide issue that was found thru an inspection. We did find our dream Newmar but the experience from the previous inspection we were able to provide the 2nd inspector with possible issues. We have purchased the 2nd RV we had inspection but we do have a couple of items we need to address. An inspection is not just for big issues it helps with knowing the little issues so you can maintain them.
Yes! Thank you so much for saying so, very helpful to many. I hope by now you are traveling enjoying your new Newmar! Looking forward to seeing you on the road!
This was another great video. Sometimes people are so excited about buying their RV they only look at interior, tires and motor and if it looks good they buy it. A lot of sellers fix it to look good and figure by the time everything starts falling apart their long gone and it’s your problem. So great advice ❤👏👩🏻🦳
Thanks so very much for this Debbie! I'm so glad to have you here and thanks also for moving me closer to 100,000 subscribers! See you in the next video and have a good week.
We bought a 2016 fifth wheel last spring, well when we went to look at it we were told it’s winterize and no water access, and we couldn’t open the slides all the way, because it was in a pole building…..we did buy it brought it home the following week. It was about 200 miles from our home, on the way home on the interstate, we blew a trailer tire on the drivers side, didn’t want to change it on the road a bit to dangerous, we limped to the next exit and changed it in a parking lot, not enough air in the tires, probably heated up. Got home and bought all new tire. But when the tire blew it ripped the bottom underbelly open, another fix! Big expensive on day one. Then while we had the Rv home things were more noticeable instead of inside of a pole building. The entertainment slide is off kilter, found lots of swirl scratches on the same slide, and the decals don’t match. Called the original dealer to see it it was in a accident or something and they told us no, just was in for regular service. Only time will tell. But on a good not the roof looks good. 😊😊😊😊 I definitely love the fifth wheel, my husband wants to downsize already 😩
Wow, what an adventure right out of the gate! I hope all that is behind you now, and that it is smooth sailing (camping!) from here on out. I've had 3 fifth wheels and I loved them all. Hoping your husband gets used to driving it and decides there is no need to downsize. Happy camping!
the best roof for the rv;s is the fiberglass 1 piece, from front to back , its the shell , there nothing that will crack or break or even leak! its an extra in the rv world , but its like that fram oil filter commerical PAY EXTRA NOW OR PAY ME LATER FOR THE REPAIRS?
Yes, I've had two campers with fiberglass roofs. They are the best! Thanks for watching and see you in my brand new video right here: ua-cam.com/video/VduD6gWwtPo/v-deo.html
Great Video!! When we bought our new Solitude we wanted to get an inspection done. Unfortunately there aren’t many certified inspectors in northern NJ. Since we have a forever warranty, we will be getting an inspection every year by a certified inspector.
Every year we have a full service, this is in the UK, that includes everything, all the seams, gas and electricity, all wheels, brakes every single thing, and your log book is signed by the service man, In fact we have 10 year guarantee when we buy the caravan, which is transferable to the new owner if you sell it. But you have to get your van serviced by a dealer who is registered, to keep your guarantee. It has to be around the date you bought it yearly. We do have a totally different system here, in that the manufacturer gives the 10 year guarantee, so any problem when you purchase it, is put right. Some dealerships even provide a site for you to stay on after you’ve bought it, so that anything you find that’s not right they sort it there and then, but in the 40 years we have had caravans we have dealt with the same dealership, and anything that’s been wrong has soon been sorted.
Wow. The RV industry in the US could learn a lot by looking at UK. It's a mess over here, as I'm sure you've gathered. Thanks for watching Sandra and happy caravaning!
I will have to need Debbie’s controls and advices when ever I go to the States for a Coach, yes, it will be very useful her opinion. I ’ve had trucks for almost twenty years and know some issues on big vehicles, but a qualified opinion will be the best!. Thanks for this video Mrs. Liz!.
Great advice! RV Techs are (I believe) a better option for maintenance, repairs and inspections. Hooray to see a female inspector - what a way to be an entrepreneur and work for yourself! And Liz I love, love that your vids are short, to the point and not cluttered w/ unnecessary fluff’ ! I see you relaxing and enjoying yourself again 😉!!
Thanks so much for your kind words, Beth! Yes, I always want to respect the viewer's time. All my videos are 8 to 10 minutes mostly. And yes, I am relaxed and happy and living my dream. Now that I have recovered from illness an injury my 2023 motto is to stay happy, healthy, and upright! Thanks for being here through thick and thin.
I think people are spending a lot of money to purchase an Rv and don't want to spend the extra cash for an inspection which could possibly be a huge mistake. Thanks for the info Liz.
I have owned new and used campers. Pop ups and slide in truck campers. All had defects. The new campers had more defects than the used ones. You better be able to make some repairs or you will be camped at the repair shop most of the time.
You are so right about that, Gary! You either are handy, become handy, or go broke! And I have definitely noticed the decline in RV build quality over the years. Thanks for watching.
All great points! I bought my motorhome new in 2019. The dealer had customer lots on their property that allowed customers that purchased their new or used RV to stay on the property for up to 2 days. This allowed us to test everything in real life conditions. We discovered one problem with the deadbolt lock on the door that the dealer immediately fixed the next day. If this option wasn’t available to me I would have definitely had the coach inspected by a professional.
I have been wondering if the Rv dealerships are user friendly? It would seem like you wouldn’t be welcome. Where I live it gets cold and snows etc it would be nice if they would allow you to do your inspection indoors out of the weather.
Hi Keith, yes, most of the time the dealerships are friendly and welcome us. Some have coverage and some don’t. In MI they usually had me work inside and that was great because weather was unpredictable.
I've been thinking about buying a RV when I retire. But this is exactly why I'm hesitant. I've known people with RVs and they all have said the biggest problem is the roof leaking. The cost if RVs you would think the roof would be sealed. Better. ??? Is there a way to cover the roof while traveling or stationary ?
There are one piece fiberglass roofs that some RVs come with. Look for one of those. Thanks for this and happy planning. See you in my latest video right here: ua-cam.com/video/h5f2KhXOvrY/v-deo.html
Exactly! Women many times will spot little details that a guy will miss, and not just bad decorating 🤔 I was told by a rv salesman that “Majory” of women will only spot the flaws in the decorations in an RV😵💫 But then another salesman told me the opposite, that many women will spot the flaws all around and ask questions that salesmen will avoid or talk down to the lady to discount her ‘little fears’!! As a Navy Wife (and Navy daughter) I can spot stuff and won’t let anyone discount me. Car salesmen hate me😂 I even had a sales guy at a car dealership pull some stupid DANGEROUS stuff that he got fired for because I got ahold of the owner! Too many people don’t walk away from a deal when their “spide” senses go up…. Women especially. Love seeing women in the field of normal male dominated businesses.
I know I followed you when you were mountain biking with your boyfriend! I don’t know what happened I haven’t been getting your notifications? Just happened to see this in my inbox! Thank you so much big thumbs up.
Oh goodness, so sorry you've been missing some happenings. If you ring the bell you should start getting notifications again. And thanks for being here!
Fantastic video Liz. It's one thing to have a video just talking about it, it's another showing the inspection report with pictures of exactly what to look for. This helps make us all more knowledgeable.
She did not do an inspection on my rig, and I don't know if that's part of her inspection. You could go to her website and ask her directly. And thanks for watching.
We are going to hire an inspector for our next rv. It doesn’t make a difference if it is new or used. We do our maintenance every year and then have it double checked by our local rv repair shop (Quality Motor Coaches) in Eugene, Oregon
Just sold my RV. Some of my decision was after watching your videos. Thanks for showing so many possible issues. I cannot afford all the maintenance. Back to hotels and time shares.
Awesome video! I wish we were closer. I just had maintenance work done at General RV so when we get to Michigan this summer I will hire an RV inspector to make sure all these things are done properly.
Bought a used 2003 RV without an inspection. But I bought it knowing it needed work and I have it at a place that does that. Be ready for long, Month(s) long wait times for some parts. The steering was really loose (3 inches each way before the front wheels turned). They told me the price they were quoted was $2500 . But that was the whole drag link (not including the cost of the install). I talked to them and looked into it. I watched the video they had and saw that the bad end of the drag link screwed off. They then looked around and found a source for just that part, not the whole drag link, that was much cheaper. But I am still waiting for it after a month+. There are several paints/sealants/tape sealants for roofs, windows, ect. So you can do some leak repair yourself if only temporary. Better to wait at home than while RVing I think. Hope you are having fun RVing.
Thanks Neil. I am glad you researched that drag link so that you could save money on the repair. I hope that's all behind you now and you're able to plan for some good camping this year. Thanks for watching.
@@LizAmazing Thanks, unfortunately the wife has long term health problems so we will be luck to do any RVing. Neither of us like it but we are home bound right now till she gets better if she gets better. Time will tell.
@@LizAmazing Hey how about you, doing a video segment about what you load in your RV. I was surprised at how much work it was loading and them unloading our RV was when we did not take off RVing. Tools, food, medical stuff, clothing, and other supplies.
We bought a used rv from a private party. At the time it only had 3,000 miles on it (it was 3 years old at the time). Anyway, we found out why the mileage was low as the steering was wacky - we were constantly over steering. It was a white knuckle ride. We have since had dampeners installed and the rig aligned. Saying that, it’s my suggestion that when having a potential rv inspected you include undercarriage, steering and ask for any recommendations.
I currently own a Heartland. After 15+ years RVing I have come to the conclusion they are mostly junk and with the rising prices the only things that have changes are their profits. The tires are junk, the axles are running at their max, the roof last months before you need to get up there and fix stuff. If I buy another one it will be an Airstream but they are six figures, at least the don't depreciate like a 5th wheel does.
Whew, it really is hard to be an RV buyer these days. My last two campers were brand new, but yep, they are just slapping them together these days. I also love those Airstreams but the CCC is way too low for me to ever fulltime in one. I sure like looking at them though! Thanks for watching! Oh, and here's the latest video just came out: ua-cam.com/video/VduD6gWwtPo/v-deo.html
I find that an RV inspection is very important. I am not in the market to sale or buy currently but curious as to what is an average cost for an inspection? I may get one in the future just for peace of mind. I am very handy I do 90% of my own repairs and maintenance, but I did have a armor roof put on several years ago that is a life saver
It can vary depending on model and type but avg is $400 for the smallest travel trailer up to $1500 for the largest Motorhome. Sometimes travel is added in too but that is an approximate window.
The single most important aspect of RV living is the expense that comes with it. Motorhome, maintenance, fuel, campground sites, etc, etc, etc. Most channels only talk about being on the open road, the freedom, getting back to nature. That may all be true, however there’s a cost to it. Liz, always keeps it real!
Thanks so much for your kind words! Yes, you absolutely need to budget some extra money for renovations, repairs, and upgrades. And an inspection! I'm glad you're here and thanks for moving me closer to 100,000 subscribers!
An RV inspection is definitely a must these days. One thing I'd be cautious of, however. If you find someone who is an Inspector AND a technician, they should be unwilling to do both for the same customer. This prevents any semblance of inpropriety. Do you really want a repair technician going over your vehicle and "Finding" things that need to be fixed? I'd be much more comfortable with an inspector/tech who told me if they do an inspection for me, they will not perform any repairs for me for at least X months. This way I know they aren't just going to make stuff up to improve the invoice bottom line.
Great video. It's incredible that someone would spend this kind of money, with so many systems and appliances and not get an inspection. We are at Quartzite and drove through the Alfa Roadrunners camp hoping you might be there to say hello, but didn't see you. Travel safe and stay well.
Hey there! I was going to go to the meetup but got held up at my current stop. I plan to be there soon. As far as the inspection goes, I probably will get one next time. Meanwhile, everyone keeps telling me I got a cream puff. Time will tell!!!
@@LizAmazing Sheesh, I just realized my comment seemed pretty negative and that was not my intent. My apologies if it came across that way. Your video was spot on and very valuable. I do believe you bought a winner. Best of luck and travel safe.
Hi Gail! I think it’s between 350 to over 1000. It depends on what level inspection you want and the year make and model of the camper. Thanks for watching.
I bought a Class C from a dealer and it had expanded foam around the window but I didn't know what that was. When I tried to trade it back in to the same dealer, they told me because of the foam, they would pay me hundreds less. (I didn't deal with them anymore.)
@@peggar901 I agree we bought a 5th wheel from a fantastic dealer in NY and got great service. When I told a fellow RVer about the service I got he wanted to call me a liar and he was driving a new class A coach.
Excellent video. I don't think you made a mistake in buying your RV although you're probably seeing some of the issues that would have made you a better informed buyer. I'm now concerned about some water we found in our basement but we also discovered one of the vent caps had been knocked off the roof. I think we caught it in time but can't check it as it's still in the process of being repaired from the tire blowout.
Hi Lily! So sorry you are missing videos. We broke up back in September and I made a video about that in October. We were not a good fit off camera. I wish him well as he does me. His channel is called Paul on the road. And here is the video about our break up, it comes after the review: ua-cam.com/video/CbcwHhscAAE/v-deo.html And be sure to ring the bell so not to miss more videos, and thanks for watching!
@@LizAmazing Thats exactly why I've been gone myself! im going thru a nasty divorce, so I missed all my friends that i follow for a bit! Its awful but life goes on right? Im sorry you guys broke up! You got right back up and off you went! Good role model, Liz! Wishing you the best!
I ended up having an electrician cut the cord and plug the surge protector inside the electrical compartment so I didn't have to deal with it anymore. Thanks for watching, Jerome, and see you in the next one.
AlfA builds a good coach with a lot of thought, i.e.the cutout on your desk for the chair. I would be cautious about the CAT diesel and make sure it gets attention.
Thank you for this, Al! Yes, I got lucky with the cutout. It used to hold two recliners, not bolted to the floor. So easy to put my desk in and enjoy the windows. Thanks for your comment !
Inspecting engine, and other components for a motorized RV was not covered? I recall one of your older videos you showed your batteries anf they were visually in bad shape I was disappointed the owners sold it to a single lady in that condition 😢
The sellers were GREAT! I wasn't bothered about the batteries as I planned to replace them, glad I did. The sellers put in new carpet, new furniture, new toilet, new roof, full body paint and even changed the oil every 3,000 miles. I'm very grateful to have found my cream puff and I know I got really lucky this time Yes, an inspection of a motorhome can include the engine components and a fluid test. Thanks for watching.
Yup! In particular, the issues with recent new models are horrible. In 2012, manufacturers started lightening the trailers to make them tow-able by the smallest vehicle. Then, in 2020, quality went down the toilet.
Great information, few hundred dollars that one spends on inspection of cars, homes, travel trailers, motor homes can save thousands of dollars in repairs or worst!
Thank you for a very important video. I think most RV buyers do not realize the importance of having a tv checked out by either a professional, or by a prospective buyer that knows of all the checks that should be taken into consideration. I especially appreciated the comments regarding the ‘new roof’. With such a big expense, like a house, have it checked; spend now, save down the road.
Been doing it for over four years now. I never had a problem. And that’s over four different rigs. Like I said, in the video about the wipes, be sure to test them first before flushing. And a lot of people are like you and don’t put anything down there. Whatever works for you.
Hey Liz there’s another thing that I really want to know how much the would be to have an inspection for an RV because I told my wife if we sold this one and then we buy another one I’m gonna have somebody To do the inspection before I buy it
Hi Santiago, the prices vary depending on the RV type and what type of inspection you are getting. The range can be $350 up to $1500. Feel free to contact me through my website for a direct quote on a specific RV. Thank you!
Great question, Jimmy. Inspection rates vary depending on year, make and model. I imagine cheaper for a van or small travel trailer than a large motorhome with all the systems. The range is between $350 and $1500.
Hi lady.... That is a very good advice... Especially for someone that is a first time buyer... We're looking at the possibility of selling ours and it might be a good idea just to get it done to see if we need to repair things... Thanks again for the video... Stay safe....J&A🙋♀️🙋♂️
Yes, that's such a great point. If you are selling, it will give you an idea of any areas of concern that you might want to fix before putting it up for sale. Plus, it will give buyers peace of mind that you care about their outcome. Thanks for being here!
Even though you took time to know the owners before buying your TV and I sure they were being honest, there could have been something wrong with the RV that they weren't aware of was wrong. In case there is a next time, you will call for an inspection. We all learn something everyday. Good luck to both of you in your travels! Oh and love seeing an educated, female inspector put there taking care of fellow female travelers!!!!
Thanks for this, Rosemary. Yes, like I said in the video, if I could do it all over again I would likely get an inspection. Can't put a price on peace of mind! Yes, happy to meet a female inspector!
Talking about hot skin. That was one of the scariest experiences I've had getting that jolt when I lived in an older Airstream. Despite the grounding, upkeep, and maintenance it was always a problem in the rainy weather.
Hey Liz thank you so much for sharing the video with us I am learning a lot from this video when I buy my RV my diesel pusher I never thought about that to get a inspection before I buy it and you are absolutely right and let me tell you something about the gnu RVs or travel trailers I have a friend he bought a fifth wheel travel trailer and he has so many issues with the trailer he traded in for another one the same thing so many issues the same and I think the gnu RVs all the gnu a travel trailers old field wheels toy haulers they’re not good anymore it’s better to buy a used one the old ones are the better
Hi again! Thanks so much for your support and encouragement. Sorry for the delayed response. I answer every comment but sometimes it takes me awhile as I get 1000+ a week! Thanks so much for watching and happy camping to you!

I did RV inspections for a few years after I retired from my Career Job. Just like a Buyers Agent for a residence. Folks who aren't familiar with RV construction will be miles ahead by having their possible purchases inspected by someone who is an expert in them and will follow an inspection list and be very thorough.

Thank you for interviewing this lady,
So glad you enjoyed this video. Sounds like you got lucky with your RV. Thanks for watching and see you on the road.
The trouble with roof leaks, particularly near vertical walls, is water tends to run down into the wall itself. This is often what causes delamination on side walls, because water seeping behind the surface has broken down the glue, wood, or both.
Yes. Scary indeed. Thanks for this, and for watching.

We did not have our last RV inspected before we bought it. However, we had it inspected soon after so we could fix everything that needed to be fixed. Thank you!
Thank you for this comment! I will be sure that Deb the RV inspector sees this.
Great video, Liz. An inspector will find issues most buyers will miss. It’s money well spent.
It sure sounds like it, thanks for watching Dave.
Thanks so much for saying so! I am really glad that you are part of our community.
Great video thank you both 💕
Thank you so much, Shelley! So glad to have you here.
This is going to be one of your best video !! So much information! Thanks a lot !!
Wow, thanks for saying so, Patricia!! So glad to read your comment!
Mine was new, but I insisted on an independent inspection. Glad I did!
Glad to hear! And congrats!
the best roof for the rv;s is the fiberglass 1 piece, from front to back , its the shell , there nothing that will crack or break or even leak! its an extra in the rv world , but its like that fram oil filter commerical PAY EXTRA NOW OR PAY ME LATER FOR THE REPAIRS?
Yes, I've had two campers with fiberglass roofs. They are the best! Thanks for watching and see you in my brand new video right here: ua-cam.com/video/VduD6gWwtPo/v-deo.html
Great Video!! When we bought our new Solitude we wanted to get an inspection done. Unfortunately there aren’t many certified inspectors in northern NJ. Since we have a forever warranty, we will be getting an inspection every year by a certified inspector.
Glad you have that forever warranty, Bob. I bet you are, too. Peace of mind for sure!
Great video-thanks Liz and Debbie! I learned a lot! ❤
Thank you, so happy you liked this video!
I bought both RVs new but I always thought I should get them inspected before paying cash. Well done Liz. Safe Travels.
Thanks Tim! Glad to have you here. Yes, definitely an inspection is something to strongly consider.
Liz!.
Yes, be sure to reach out to her. She's very knowledgable. Happy shopping!
Yes indeed, that is likely very true, Kathy.
Wow sister! That's awesome advice. Wish I had of known this YEARS ago.👍
Thanks so much! I learned a lot as well. And thanks for commenting, really helps the channel!
Thank you for the information as many people just don't know how to look for problem areas !!
Yes indeed. Thank you for saying so. See you in the next video.
Sounds like a great way to do it. A good dealer for sure. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. See you in the next video.
@@debsrvservices thank you
Thanks for your questions Keith and thanks Deb for answering them. Happy RV shopping and see you in the next video.
Great vid! Very valuable resource.
Aww, thanks so much! See you in the next video, and thanks for watching.
Thanks!
Thanks so very much Lorraine!!! So glad to have you here!
You’re welcome Liz. You are very inspiring. Shared Experience, including Successes and Failures are the keys to “Living Amazing”.
Always nice to see women RV experts! We need more! 👍
We do indeed! Thanks for your support and also for moving me closer to 100,000 subscribers! See you in the next video.
Exactly! Women many times will spot little details that a guy will miss, and not just bad decorating 🤔
I was told by a rv salesman that “Majory” of women will only spot the flaws in the decorations in an RV😵💫
But then another salesman told me the opposite, that many women will spot the flaws all around and ask questions that salesmen will avoid or talk down to the lady to discount her ‘little fears’!!
Very good investment getting an inspection prior to purchasing...
Yes, indeed. Thanks Jim!
Great video! Lots of helpful, eye-opening info.
Thank you so much for being here. And for moving me closer to 100,000 subscribers. See you in the next one.
Fantastic video Liz. It's one thing to have a video just talking about it, it's another showing the inspection report with pictures of exactly what to look for. This helps make us all more knowledgeable.
Thanks so very much for this!!! Glad to have you here!
Fantastic info! Sure I would never buy a home w/o a home inspection. Something. Good to know tips as always.
Glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for watching.
Did she have time to inspect the Steering and/or Suspension?
She did not do an inspection on my rig, and I don't know if that's part of her inspection. You could go to her website and ask her directly. And thanks for watching.
We are going to hire an inspector for our next rv. It doesn’t make a difference if it is new or used. We do our maintenance every year and then have it double checked by our local rv repair shop (Quality Motor Coaches) in Eugene, Oregon
Thank you for this. Sure appreciate having you here. See you in the next video.
Karen, I spend my summer in MI where my family is so you can reach out to me when it is time.❤
That is amazing! Thank you
Glad to hear this, Karen! Thanks for watching.
Great video! We have been very lucky with our current TT. Hope this will be our forever TT!
Yay! So glad that it's working well for you. Thanks for watching and see you on the road.
Great content,thanks.
Thank you, David! As always, I'm glad to see you here.
@@justfun985 So sorry to hear this. Sending ❤️
Indeed! You make a great point, Betsy. Thanks for your comment and see you in the next video.
@@debsrvservices thank you for the info
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad Debbie answered your question.
Absolutely, get an inspection especially if it’s new! Especially if it’s new!!!!
Yes, indeed! Thanks for your comment !
This is a great point. Thanks for this, Brian!
Brian, we have a code of ethics that does not allow us to work on an RV for 1 year post inspection.😊
@@debsrvservices See? Right there's what we call integrity. ;)
At least you are looking better. Healthier!
And I'm feeling great! Thanks for watching.
Good info. How much a RV inspection cost? Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
Hi Gail! I think it’s between 350 to over 1000. It depends on what level inspection you want and the year make and model of the camper. Thanks for watching.
@@LizAmazing Thank you for your reply.
Also do not trap water in during repair. It will rot or grow mold.
That's I learned. Thanks for this!
I bought a Class C from a dealer and it had expanded foam around the window but I didn't know what that was. When I tried to trade it back in to the same dealer, they told me because of the foam, they would pay me hundreds less. (I didn't deal with them anymore.)
What??? Oh my gosh, Peggy. That's infuriating! I should do a whole video about shady dealers...but I guess that would be ten hours long!
Yes it probably would, but there are a lot of honest ones also. My latest buy was from a very fair dealer.
There's always something, right? Thanks for being here through thick and thin, Rhonda!
Hi from Michigan: Tree branches hitting the roof can cause "Chaos" - Cool information today. 👍

An inspection on a NEW RV is a good idea as well
That is true! I still find a lot with brand new RV’s. Thanks for watching!
Yes, thanks for saying so! New or used, you want to get an inspection. And thank you for watching.
Wow!!!! Very cool information!!!! Thank you!
Thank you SO much! See you in the latest video!
Are you happy with your Alpha? We have the same model. My verdict is still not completly in.
I've only had it since October and I LOVE it!!! I've just started traveling with it so I'll keep you posted. See you on the road.
Wow, I don't even own an RV, but this is super valuable information to know just to keep under your belt!
Thank you so much for this! See you in the next video.
You are so right about that, Rob! Thanks for watching and for your comment. See you in the next video.
I luv the inspection idea. Vital for an RV
Thanks for the great info! Hope everything is ok with your RV! Happy Camping and Safe Travels! ❤️❤️
Thanks so much Lynn! See you in the next video, which happens to be all about a Travel Day. Thanks for watching.
Great information, few hundred dollars that one spends on inspection of cars, homes, travel trailers, motor homes can save thousands of dollars in repairs or worst!
That is so very true, Frank! Thanks for watching.
Thank you I am looking for an RV and will want an inspector, will be reaching out to Deb!
Glad to hear this! And thanks for watching. Pre-congratulations on your RV too!
Exactly this! Thanks for your comment, Mary! Glad to have you here.
Question, are you still flushing wipes? We have been told, if at all possible, it is best to avoid flushing anything other than natural waste .
Been doing it for over four years now. I never had a problem. And that’s over four different rigs. Like I said, in the video about the wipes, be sure to test them first before flushing. And a lot of people are like you and don’t put anything down there. Whatever works for you.
All good things to know before hand for safe camping.
Great video Liz and also great tips from the rv tech
Thanks Corey, always glad to have you here!
Thank you!
Glad to hear this, Santiago, and thanks for watching!

If I hit the road again, solo, I’d just stay within 100 miles of Deb. 😉😊
Now THAT would be smart!!! Thanks, Monica!
Liz what engine do you have in your Alfa and what mileage do you get towing and solo? thx
Hi Rick. I get 7.8 and haven't driven it without the truck for any length of time to have numbers for that. It's a 300HP Cat C-7. Thanks for asking!
How much does it cost to have one inspected
Great question, Jimmy. Inspection rates vary depending on year, make and model. I imagine cheaper for a van or small travel trailer than a large motorhome with all the systems. The range is between $350 and $1500.
It would be well worth it 👌 😉
How much does it general price for an RV inspection before purchasing?
It ranges depending on the type of rig and how in-depth of an inspection. I think it's $350-$1500. Thanks for watching.
Most importantly it can ALL be fixed! Thanks for the video. I know that there are many more to show. Happy Trails Michelle Greenville Fl
Absolutely! Thanks Michelle, I so enjoy hearing from you!
Oh my gosh, Lawrence, you are the second person who's commented that they got jolted by an Airstream. Yikes!
