I would pretend to be asleep because I wanted my dad to carry me in from the car, but he would always "wake me up" and make me walk inside. To be fair, I was probably too big to carred inside at that age, and I had three younger siblings, so I can see why he didn't want to carry all of us in. 😂 But I just wanted to be snuggled!

I think it’s great that we can do our own health research. Dr’s can miss a lot, but sometimes it can help if you go in with some information of your own. After all, it’s your body and they don’t know everything you’re feeling. Plus sometimes you’ll think something is normal when it’s not😂 It’s really helped me too.

As one of the older aged followers of this channel, I can say that we didn't always fall for the "being asleep" game. In fact we almost always knew.
We just didn't let you know that we knew because a lot of times you would just then fall asleep by pretending to be asleep. We just had to stick around long enough for you to not want to dare move.
So instead of you fooling us, we were fooling you.

When my daughter was 4 years old we moved across the country from Melbourne to Western Australia. To make transporting all her soft toys easier (she had 326 of the bloody things) I vacuum packed them.......but forgot that nearly half of the toys had batteries in them.......it was quite an unforgettable noise. Most of those toys never got their batteries back. Another fave for annoying, noisy toys was to "forget" to take them out of the boot of the car when we got home from going somewhere, particularly toys gifted to her from my mother in law....those I always "found" when we arrived at the in laws house. Just a few more future parent tips for you.

We found out years after this happened. My brother had found out that he had received a Nintendo for a Christmas present (the original one). He made sure to carefully repackage it and rewrap it each time before Christmas Day. When we set it up after unwrapping, it was definitely strange that he could beat the game. It was only a few years ago that he admitted to this.

It can be a savior and a curse. In my case, a savior. I had bloating that continued to get worse about 8 months ago. It wasn't my period so I thought I had to go to the bathroom because I tend to get a tad bit clogged up here or there. Then I noticed my stomach was getting hard, my ankles were swollen and I was out of breathe more quickly. That I couldn't write it off. I made an appointment to go in but I did some research in the meantime. When I went to the doctor, I was immediately sent to the ER and then by ambulance to the large city nearby because I needed blood. My hematocrit was 4x lower than normal and had to get 5 units of blood transfused into me. I had antibodies that required a specific type (which I wasn't even aware of). I had every test under the sun to find the root cause. I did have a sizable fibroid that caused the heavy periods for months but because I felt fine, I didn't follow up. I was there for 6 days. Now I'm on meds and iron supplements. The curse of looking things up online can also send people into a false sense of security. Many symptoms can be many things. Some people will be nonchalant while some people will catastrophize everything. No one should use Google before making an appointment.

In the past, I have avoided a very few people because I knew they would want to get into a gossip fest I had no interest in hearing. People who will gossip to you, will also gossip ABOUT you, so I tend to keep my personal stuff private with acquaintances.

I actually never looked for my presents. My sister convinced me one year to peek a couple by peeling back the tape and it was such a buzzkill that Christmas morning that I never did it again. A lot of it is the anticipation, right? The surprise. Anyone can just hand you a toy, it’s lame if you already know what’s in the wrapper.
On that note, my secret mom trick was to tell the kids Santa needs at least a month’s heads up on gifts because they take time to make or obtain (y’know, sometimes he’s gotta work with manufacturer inventory and all) so that there would be no last minute Christmas Eve miracles expected.
Also, makes me so angry, but I remember when people I knew started avoiding me to the point that one lady even saw me, looked in directly in the eye, and then frantically hurried down a hallway away from me, and I’m thinking that’s it, I’ve out-stayed my welcome, they’re finally sick of my crap, and stopped trying to talk to literally anyone until we finally moved away… turns out they were all awkward with me because of something that was going on at the time between my husband and a mutual acquaintance of all of ours that he’d hired and had to subsequently fire because said acquaintance was actually stealing money from the business! And I guess all they heard was that my husband fired a father of 6 they all knew and loved and never got the (none of their business) full story and I, my socially inept and insecure self, got caught in the crossfire. Sorry… that whole “why are they avoiding me” seems to have triggered something…

When I was younger, my sister and I would unwrap our Christmas gifts from certain family members. We wanted to see what we got and prepare ourselves to fake our excitement. One Christmas, when I was around eleven years old, I desperately wanted a pair of roller skates. (It was the late 70s, early 80s). I snooped everywhere and eventually found them in my parent's bedroom chest at the end of their bed. When no one was home, I would take them out and put them on to skate around the house. When I heard someone coming home, I would run as fast as possible and put them back in my parent's room in their hiding spot. No one ever found out.

Nearly ever post I announce that I'm a boomer, but were the third one in's eyes natural or was she wearing contacts or something? They were amazing!
I was actually meowing and nose bumping with one of my kittens watching this. However, at 61 I’ve realised that my tongue seems unnaturally short, I can’t get anywhere near my nose. I do the watching the clock and count how much sleep I will get, but I daren’t move too much to see the clock or the two kittens will think it’s morning. I really, really wish I had the ability to lie in, I’ve never been able to even in my non boomer days. I stalk my crush in real life, sometimes I watch her sleep and wonder why the kittens don’t wake her.
When I was drinking many people would pretend not to see me and cross the road, I can still remember the first person who crossed the street to say hello after I got sober.

Congrats on getting and staying sober! I had to re-read what you said about stalking your crush and then realized you were talking about your wife. 😂 Love this for you!

My husband said when he knows he won't get enough sleep he tells himself that the amount of time he will sleep would be so long in a car 😂😂. He said oh man 6 hours? That's a long time if I'm driving to Florida 😂 it is hilarious. Whatever works babe.

Common sense poo story: I was sitting around with friends and one of them said she had terrible constipation (yes, we're that close). Very reasonably, I thought, I asked her: Why don't you use your finger? There was a moment of silence, the friend looked at me with disgust, and the others fell about laughing. But, you know, needs must.

A friend of mine had a car accident and was in the hospital for a lengthy time. All of the painkillers they gave her constipated her and she told me a nurse would have to “digitally” remove the poo. Pretty gross.

@@alloralou4722 ...Thanks for replying, but why pretty gross? The nurse has undoubtedly done this before, and the patient will only find relief getting the hard stuff out. Sadly, so many people just don't understand how their body works, and that shit is not a shame.

    20. 20 ads before I was able to start this video. Haven’t watched it yet but, your uploads are a constant for me when it comes to relaxation time and taking care of my mental health. Watching your videos helps me when it comes to feeling…I guess..emotions again..? So…thank you. I sat through and started over every single ad just to get to see something that I know will help me smile. Thank you for making a channel that connects with and genuinely helps the community that you have created, without you I think I’d be lost. I appreciate you and every video you’ve created. Thank you again, you’re my favorite UA-camr 😊

My mother in law was always a dead set guarantee to give our kids noisy presents for birthdays and Christmas. So, I taught her a lesson. When she baby sat them, I packed all the noisy toys that she had given them, to take with them. The first thing she did when we picked up the kids, was hand me the box of toys. I said, "Oh no, leave them here so they have something to play with the next time they come over." 😁 She stopped giving them noisy toys as gifts.
