I hate the block feature, it takes away from the personal choice that the contestant is given when choosing a coach. I get that it makes for good TV, but if a person has a specific coach in mind they should be able to choose that coach unimpeded.
That's why I'm glad that my country doesn't have that feature🇩🇪
Right and it takes away the focus from the contestant to the coaches... I don't like it either.....
I concur. It's almost, but only "almost," as bad as the poor return the winners receive after the season ends. The shows' producers are the ONLY ones who gain.
It’s also not available in the Netherlands where this show has been created.

I'm not a fan of the blocking, I mean just imagine finally doing the Blind Auditions and then the Coach you're the biggest fan of, the one you really want to choose, is blocked...

Think that's the point. Before the blocks were added there were times where you could hear the song choice or the style of the voice and be like yeah they are gonna pick so and so. Not even a point for the others to pitch really.
The blocked button shows how well the judges know each other when it comes to the singers

Danielle Paige B If a coach doesn’t want another to pick up the singer, that coach hits the block button which also, aside from what I just mentioned, turns their own chair around. The person blocked won’t know they are until they turn around.

This is by far the most unnecessary function there's ever been on the voice. It's just unfair to the contestants and is one more thing that distracts you from the actual contestants and makes you focus on the coaches who usually are already making it all about themselves
I am so happy that my country hasn't made this a part of their version yet
:D :) the first few years of this show WAS about the voice and the singer, but over the years it has become more and more about the 'stars' and their relationships and friendships, etc., kind of took all the fun out of why they're really there.
I honestly agree. Even the whole concept of the voice is unfair. It’s all about the coaches and not about rising stars. Just a bunch of rich successful people that want more attention

What I really don't like about block auditions is that afterwards when they're talking the *only* topic is the fact someone got blocked!
Blocking is bad, that is why The Voice of Holland (the original The Voice version) doesn't use it.
@@dogcraftmc8968 I totally agree, feels to me like it takes the choice away from the contestant, and could actually harm their progress in the competition if they end up having to pick a coach that they don't gel with

I like the "BLOCK" option, it forces the judges to make a decision quickly,, no more sitting on the fence as they make the contestant fret that a judge won't select. HIT that button FAST or get blocked!

I literally love all this block stuff. It put some dynamics after the audition.. I don't mind the fact they can't choose anyone they want, I mean, if there are only two chair who turn, they also have to deal with it.. Xd
I absolutely love Spain’s coaches they show emotion and are really funny.
So glad that the UK hasn’t adopted this whole “blocked button” business. Completely distracts away from the amazing singers and it also isn’t fair on them, they should be able to choose who they want as a judge. It also sort of defeats the whole point of the show, I.e - Judges fight to win the contestant they want if they turned for them.
Can't argue with that. UK will use block button for season 10.
