This Four Roses is hands down one of my favorite bourbons. Love the caramel and honey sweetness. Better than Blanton’s IMO.

Great review, I’m more of a scotch guy I find that bourbon is a bit more harsh than scotch. Monkey Shoulder is a great bang for price point at about $35 and Johnny Walker Green Label 15 years $50-$60 my weekend drink. Dalmore is my favorite Scotch so far hopefully I get to try the King Alexander-25 years..
Four roses small batch is my favorite bourbon. Hands down best nose and taste of any bourbon in its price range and proof. Haven’t tried the small batch select though. By the way, that small batch really opens up and the alcohol mellows our after you get some air in that bottle for a week. Just such a great bourbon.

Man I had the same issue with bourbon when I first started drinking it. I was a mainly a vodka and cognac drinker and bourbon is so different from cognac. When I learned about the history and the unique process I fell in love with bourbon
BJ Duncan I think I am Still Rum, Vodka, Tequila, whiskey, cognac, gin... in that order but I now have some favorites.
Have you guys ever tried Henry McKenna Bottle in Bond 10 year 100 proof ,well I know all Bottle in Bond Bourbon is a 100 proof but most aren’t 10 years old. I just recently got a bottle of Four Roses Small Batch and will be opening soon.
The Hillbilly Piper Jones just brought me a bottle of McKenna to try... not sure which one but I will make it to a Mann Up episode!

Hi guys love the show . I keep hearing in some states in America it’s hard to get hold of buffalo trace this really surprises me as I live in the UK England to be precise and we have a big supermarket chain called ASDA. and I can have 2 bottles delivered next day for £40

I live near the four roses distillery it is a favorite of mine here you all have to do more of the Bourbons you should just do a show and dedicate it to Bourbon there 5 that we make here LOL do it around Derby time

If you like rum and are just getting into whiskey, try Pike Creek rum cask. It’s a Canadian whisky that has been finished in Caribbean rum casks. Lovely whiskey with good rum undertones. Give it a shot. You should like it. Good price too-$25 in Southern California.
@@thorazine8402 sounds interesting, Gotta say after doing whiskey reviews for the last 2yrs. I actually find myself not loving rum finishes. The Balvenie 14 Caribbean rum cask was ok but took half the bottle to open up. Also not the biggest fan of Canadian Whisky, but who knows. Maybe 2 negatives will make a positive and finally be the one I enjoy. I'll keep an eye open. Thx for the suggestion....
OK, I been watching reviews for a few hours now.
This one got my attention because you(Mann) had the strong reaction. Burn? Bite?.....
I have been drinking Evan Williams Bourbon, neat, sipping, but not so enjoyable as I would like.
I now am trying Seagram's VO Whiskey and find less burn, more flavor. So in the end, I want less burn, more flavor, not just a alcohol taste

After reviewing, I am thinking of trying Buffalo Trace or Elijah Craig or Money Shoudler. Which do you suggest?
Ron Dail Honestly, this was really early in my bourbon journey (at least a year ago). I like this one a lot .. you ca see the difference on the rocks. I would say Monkey shoulder is good scotch (but scotch is pretty intense). EC is ok but I would choose this (4 roses) over it. Have you tried Blantons? 1792?

Peppery - like eating something spicy, normally stays in the mouth/tongue
Heat- usually related to proof, starts in the mouth may travel into the chest
Burn- lingers in throat and chest (could be high proof or poor distillation)
Buttery- the mouth feel.. like eating a Wethers original candy
Here's the problem with this for me in my area. The ABC has it for $18.99 (80 proof), $37.99 (90 proof), and $43.99 (100 proof) for the Single Barrel product. To me, $37.99 is asking a LOT for a 90 proof spirit. At around $30 it would nice to put this against Buffalo Trace (90 proof) and or Eagle Rare (90 proof ~Single Barrel). But I'm going to cop it anyway because the 80 proofer is a value to me for $18.99 so they earned by business.

Woodford Reserve bourbon neat is my go to...I will have to try the Four Roses...not a fan of Buffalo Trace at all...
BT does have their own taste! I like woodford too!
Guys I know I am late.
But I look up this reivew for a reason. I know they stoped making the good 4 r back in the 50-60's then stoped all together and they released the good one. The ones we have now.
But my last living aunt on my dad's side told me 4r was the only whiskey my grandmother would let in the house and only for eggnog at Christmas.
She told me if I found a bottle she would make me a batch of homemade eggnog.
Well I got it today.
It's a good bourbon got the small batch 90 Prof.
She did make the eggnog sent me home with a gal. Of it she said it was gm. Recipe and that she made it by the gal. Back then we had a big family.
Well I have drank a quart lol.

If you're going to do shots then just stick with Jim Beam white label. Take this slower. Appreciate it.
You guys need to get some proper glassware for the specific spirits you are tasting and get rid of the rocks.

I have watched your tequila reviews mostly which you guys shouldn’t be doing cause you don’t like or appreciate agave spirits.... why in the hell would you taste a 4 Roses bourbon from a shot glass??? Y’all have jobs and should be making some money from these videos. Buy some damn proper glassware for God’s sake. My stepson who is 22 has better glassware than you guys.
