Enjoyed your video. I have a slide in 2010 FourWheel Hawk camper. I have installed it on a few 1/2 ton trucks, but just went to Chevrolet 2500hd truck. I got the idea of using the 7 pin trailer connector as you did, to avoid running wires from the battery of the truck to the camper. Love the idea that it is all plug and play, no wires to cut and splice on truck!
Best thing I ever bought, no more setting up and taking down tents in the rain, no more cooking outside in bad weather, take down and setup is so easy, more videos to come on this subject. thanks for watching and commenting.
@@OldGuyoutdoors I'm getting a camper for a Tacoma but putting it on my ram 1500 hope that's small enough, it's a six pac t100.estimated 1000 pounds,I think the brophy will be temporary or a secondary mount until I get a frame mount system for offroading confidence
My camper tips the scales at 1800 lb but when traveling most of the weight is below the top of the cab, i believe you will be fine, im not a "off roader" but I have been down some rough roads and they have held without moving or bending. Hope this helps
@@OldGuyoutdoors I found a 2005 six pac t100S dry weight 1100 pounds, she made it home after a 3 hour drive, will see how she cleans up :) thanks for the tips again
Just ran across your video and I just put the brophy stake mount hold downs in my 21 silverado yesterday for my 1300lb Northstar popup. wondering after a year how you like them?
Be careful with these. Mine won't allow me to load or unload because they don't clear the jack stands. Installing these while your camper is in place but not lowered down is a nightmare!
Thanks Old Man! This was the basic info I was looking for to refresh my memory.
You're welcome 😊

Glad I could help, thanks for watching and commenting 😀
Awesome! I just got my 2017 RAM 2500 and 2007 Starcraft Pine Mountain Roadstar and ready to go!
Thats great to hear if we happen to ever camp in the same area, be sure to say hi.

Awesome thanks for sharing I'm about to get a camper too an use the brophy mounts, hope you still like them
I still like the brophy mounts for my application, but I am not sure how well they would do with a full sized top heavy camper

@@TouchofDepth you betcha good luck
I’m concerned about a fixed turnbuckle and the hook on the end if it loosens and bounces off. I have ordered a happyjack spring loaded type.
Well , I check them quite often and have never had an issue.
Hey there, thanks for the info. Do you happen to know the pound rating on your turnbuckles?
No , but I didn't line them up real well, so I had to use whatever fit at the time, and I haven't taken the time to take it off and reset them.
