Brad, I have the hardest time loading one of these campers on my quad cab truck. The reason is there is a complete blind spot. Now I have learn is you put some painter tape right smack in the middle, then measure the middle of your bed and simply follow the tape in. It's a breeze I am told. Honestly though i have not tried it. lol

Reflective tape works great for times you maybe loading in low light conditions!

One of your best videos to date. I have been curious about this and the jack systems. Have a 2150rb now but really don’t want to tow all that down south from Michigan. So this is ideal for that.

Do they make an extension cord to reach the plug at the rear of the box instead of having to install one at the front?

Awesome! I had to learn that on my own. 2002 Chevy 3500 Crew with 2002 Lance 11 footer. I still have the truck cuz I outgrew the Lance. Truck pulls a 30 ft Jayco 5th wheel now. I do miss the Lance though.

Do. The airbags always keep the camper level so I don’t need leveling blocks? Within reason of course. The truck I ordered just happens to also be a F-350 in that Lithium color. I wasn’t going to go with that graphic, but now that I see it on the truck I really like it. Did he have the Camper Package on his truck as well? The Ford dealer said I wouldn’t need air with the Camper Package. Probably overkill and a waste of money, but if the camper can be leveled with them it would be worth it to me. Thanks. Brad for these awesome videos. Looking forward to meeting you.

Can you put an 1181 on a F250 super duty truck? If so, do you recommend air bags and leaf spring upgrade?

We’ve heard there should be something in the bed of the truck for the camper to rest on. We didn’t see anything like that in your video. When would it be needed?

    • @itsbrad
      @itsbrad  2 роки тому +1

We use a rubber bed mat in the bed for ours to sit on, this customer didn’t have one yet.

    I'm assuming the 6.7-Liter V8 turbo-diesel would be the necessary F-350 engine.

I deliver these campers to dealerships. It's a pain at first, then it becomes easier and easier.
1st. Level your truck if equipped with airbags. I put 110 psi. yours might be different.
2nd. Raise camper about 4 inches above truck bed.
3rd. Slowly back into camper. Using the truck bed bumps as guidance and the bottom corner of the camper. Leave about 1 1/2 inches of space. (before you back in all the way stop when the corner of the bottom of camper is almost touching the bump,)
4th. Put truck on parking and get out of truck. check the passenger side to see if you have room to clear the other bump before proceeding. Also make sure the camper is high enough to clear the round pieces of metal where back bed door hooks on. if you find that you are backing up a little crooked, with truck on and Parking mode, turn steering wheel and adjust wheels before jumping back in. Once is alined continue backing in, but just enough that you pass the bumps and stop. Put truck on Parking again to plug in electrical cord (make sure you check flashers, turn signals and marker lights). If you have to, get out every couple of inches you back in and check if you are going in straight.
5th. continue backing and stop about 3 inches to 3 1/2 before you hit the back wall of bed.
6th. Almost done. with camper still lifted 4 inches from bed. go around and make sure you are about 2 inches away from taillights, (the reason is because when you start dropping it, you might crack your taillights and damage your camper). 2-3 inches from back wall of bed. and that you have about 1 1/2 inches from metal pieces where back bed door hooks on. (upper inner part of taillights) Once clear start lowering it slowly and walk around to inspect that everything is being cleared. also get familiar with remote. some legs move faster than other, you have to keep adjusting.
the rest self explanatory. good luck hope this helps.

How close to the rubber bumpers (behind the cab bed) do you need to be? is 3/4" ea side too far?
