The arena Sam mentions with the hardwood floors may actually be re-used assets from the Japanese version of World Tour which was Virtual Pro Wrestling. And the famous arena in Japan known for its hardwood floors seen in many Japanese wrestling matches is Korakuen Hall, a staple venue in the Fire Pro series and its cousin series, King of Colosseum. Fun fact, AKI was founded by former Fire Pro Wrestling developers.
Growing up, I mostly played the WCW side of these games. And as I got older, I found Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy and dabbled in those because of the creation suite. But my wildest dream was to create my own Wrestler in one of the WCW games. Because the WCW games just had SUCH a different feel from the WWF games. Then I found Virtual Pro Wrestling and VPW2 and that just stretched it even further. So needless to say, I am SO excited for what you guys are gonna bring to the table. The fact that the AKI/THQ model still stands up almost 30 years later speaks Volumes to how good those games actually were. And I’m so glad to see you guys nod to it.

UPW is a wrestling game I am so interested in getting it is also cool to hear that other than free agent all of the dlc will be free love this AEW FF needs to take note 80 plus I paid an they still want me to up more money. Awesome Vid
Hopefully this game will deliver retro mania and aew fight forever let me down but I hope this will be the game true hard-core fans are looking for. Aew still has hope but I feel like the game won't be completely finished until late next year or 2025 and by that time upw should be out by then ❤
UPW giving us what we wanted out of AEW FF like free Arenas, New match types going to be added, CAW parts etc and being transparent Holy sh*t I'm hyped for this game 😀

My personal dream Free Agent DLC would be Curt Hennig or Larry "The Axe" Hennig and Joe Hennig, but I don't know if it's possible in some way because of the WWE. Curt is my favorite Wrestler of all time and I would LOVE to see him in the game and can support the Hennig Family in this way. ❤

If successful he'll fullfill the dreams of a lot of other people too because who hasn't played those old THQ games thst doesn't wish they had continued. Awesome interview. And the lead dev seems like a true artist. Too many games have lead devs who are great prgrammers, but rely too heavy on the how, and not the why. Every feature talked about is the dream list of a true AKI succesor. Can i still donate money for the kickstarter?
Great interview! It would be nice if you could get a dev from AEW fight forever to find out what is the deal with the game being with lack of features and etc.
hopefully the community will be more kind to the developers of this game, since they are a small team and it seems like they will encounter some of the same problems as Fight Forever, such as limited match types and long timeframes between updates.
Is there a bundle DLC for all characters or do they need to be purchased one at a time and I wonder how much they would be as I don't fancy playing a game with made up characters, I would prefer to remove the made up characters and just use the real wrestlers on the rosters.

You can play it on just about everything from the PS4, Xbox One to PS5, Xbox X/S, PC, Mac and Switch!
