Great video. English fieldsports for most people isn’t all tweed and stirrup cups. Most people will never shoot a £40 pheasant, but they will have plinked a pigeon, or decoyed crows and pigeons. So it’s good to see this kind of pest shooting featuring in your vids.
Very enjoyable film. Good to see something other than shotguns in the country side. It would be very good if someone put out a film about people with disabilities.
You need to be a spokesperson/activist for the shooting industry... Articulate, sensible in your argument, and able to present a positive side as to why shooting, including air gunning, and in particular the need for the general licence, in its current format, makes sense. Keep up the great work you are doing.
Use to do this in the barn with my grandfather we didnt use airguns we used .22 rat shot it wont shoot threw the metal roof of a barn shot quite a few like that. Fancy bb gun you got there bud
Great shooting guys. I absolutely agree - air weapons are an absolutely fantastic choice for smaller pests, especially around farms with all the buildings and livestock. Great video and well presented. Stay safe!! 👍👍
Just stumbled across this channel by chance. Very nicely done, you've got a new subscriber! I currently shoot rats and ferals at a dairy farm with a sub 12ftlb but have just got a section 1 airgun added to my FAC. That'll be useful for those longer crows & ferals sitting on the top of the barns.
As a person who has had fac rifles and shotguns I still think the airgun is more enjoyable/ satisfying and a must have tool for the control of pest species in the UK, and people like yourself who are intelligent and well mannered can only enhance the public view that we are not all rough hooligans but normal people who carry out a very important role.
Great video and your facts are correct about needing to keep these birds under control. On a different subject with UK going to restrict more speech will this make it harder for your video's . I hope not for I love your stuff , keep up the Great Work.
I’m having trouble with wood pigeons pooping on my children’s trampoline, they perch on the top of the net and every morning it’s all over where the children play. I’ve phoned the gov number and they say if I shoot the birds in my own garden I may be taken to court and have to prove my case. I’m a BASC member and the advice they gave was to do it discreetly. But who’s is right? At the moment it seems as clear as mud as to what you can shoot. I think we need more specific guidelines as to what is legal and what isn’t.
Yeah you could shoot them under GL34 (that could be the wrong one, the public health one) the only issue is you'd need to shoot them in a manor that the pellets backstop was within your garden. From an upstairs window perhaps so your shooting into the ground.
Personally, I probably wouldn't but then it wasn't me doing the shooting. You can pick your shots so there is a backstop, such as roof support.. FAC can mean anything from 12ftlb upwards. I'm just curious to know a bit more about the Weihrauch's spec.
Nothing to do with EU 'silly rules'. The recent crisis over the GLs was entirely homegrown. You cannot open the skys up to allow anyone to blast away at whatever takes their fancy.
I wish Countryfile was realistic enough to show shooting conservation. That said, according to FSB, they are going to do some features on shooting (gasp!)
psychopath! It is a dirty old barn and the pigeons were doing no harm. asically, you were killing intelligent and conscious beings for your enjoyment. If you were going to eat them, that would be another story.
Tom H.F. If you are not into shooting, you are watching the wrong channel. You are just here to troll, so please, run along and try to not be so obvious next time.
Just looked at your videos and it looks like you are pigeon fancier. So I see that you love this animal but the truth is they excrete an enormous amount of crap. If this crap is eaten by ruminant animals, there is a massive risk of contracting diseases like E.Coli or botulism. Both of which can affect humans, dogs, cats, horses, etc. As a farmer, I can't ask these birds to leave and putting up decoy owls to deter them, it works for about a day or 2, so what alternative do we have?
It's one application in which a multi pump pneumatic shines. My brother and I had Benjamins, and three strokes on the pump would dispatch the birds but merely dent most roofs if a miss occurred.
Been enjoying my HW100 .20 and HW95 .20 for wood pigeon control for a couple of years now. Considering getting a shotgun this year as the numbers are just staggering and it'd be nice to be able to make more of a dent in less time. Another cracking vid John.
A man with a $10,000 bird or a guy with a $200 air gun? Both have their place but a couple air gun hunters can be super cheap especially since you can simply allow them to hunt rather then pay them to hunt.
I'm a airgun shooter with a daystate huntsman regal in .22 I have recently got a shotgun license and currently looking for a shotgun to buy. I really enjoy your videos, very informative lots of ideas and advice. Keep it up.👍🏼
Johnny ..well done. Been watching your channel for years. Very slick and professional , honest , straight and only slightly bias reviews. Lol Bought my Beretta 687 game gun 28" multi choke and my ruger 1022 on your advice now I'm on the lookout for a daystate..any advice ? Keep up the good work .
Brilliant. I get alot of calls to shoot these pests. I go at knight with a dim spot light . Nothing gets away. Probably not that sporting but then again its pest control

Very nice to see you out with a Airgun. Would like to see more.

Yes, more airguns please.
That was my childhood job for my neighbour farmer! Clearing his barns of pigeons pooing in his grain.
Fantastic video, good job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It’s not a BB gun mate 😂
Air rifle + shotgun is a great combo when hunting birds. It's sitting: air rifle, it's flying: shotgun
Great shooting guys. I absolutely agree - air weapons are an absolutely fantastic choice for smaller pests, especially around farms with all the buildings and livestock.

The intro reminded me of the start of a sniper assassin movie

What happens to the birds afterwards
The opening footage made you look a bit like a hitman getting ready for a hit.

great job !
This is my dream job
if I hit pidgeon with pellet but don't bring it down does pellet pass through Bird or Lodge in body eventually kill it
The General License has been extended to the end of July, I believe. BASC sent out an email the other day.
I love the old Iraqi music
That's a moroccan andalusia music
The militant vegans will be saying if that dairy farm didn't exist to abuse the poor cows then you wouldn't need to be shooting them poor birds.
They are jealous that cows are eating their grass :) Less food for them.
Awesome
I’m surprised to see air rifle shooting inside buildings: won’t these pellets at such high velocities damage walls and roofs?
FAC or sub-12ft-lb ?
Why would you use a fac rated airgun inside a barn? Pellet passes through pigeon and through the barn roof = pissed farmer

Maybe with the exit from eu, and their silly rules, these licences might not be needed anymore ?

Hearing Benelli m2 makes me happy. I love Benelli, I’ve got a Vinci. I also love pellet guns. I use them all the time in Cali.
As a boy, I wasn't allowed to shoot pests inside the barn because of the additional ventilation holes in the roof afterwards.
