Oh my!! This would be a dream for me. I’m just another American that lives in the country. I love to hunt every opportunity I get. But to have the opportunity to go into that area, wear the proper clothing and attire, and tote my Old American made rifle with some of the finest gentlemen, hunters in the world. You are such a lucky and blessed young man. Keep the videos coming. I love to live through your eyes.
As someone who has never hunted or stalked deer before, this has been a fascinating watch. The respect that you show towards the animals throughout is brilliant. It's clearly something that you are very passionate about. I think there's a lot of misinformation and myths online about hunting, field sports and shooting in general. Films like this help to dispel some of this misinformation and hopefully give people an opportunity to view shooting sports with a new, more open-minded perspective. Cheers, and have a good Christmas
Great vid Johnny. Really enjoyed this. Would love to see more stalking videos. Of you going through the whole process of staking, shooting, gutting etc.
Thank you for this video. Hopefully it will reignite a fire that has been lacking for deer hunting here in the US. Hope you have a Merry Christmas my friend.
You could get into nature without robbing it of all its wildlife. You know, just walk and appreciate it without destroying it! What's wrong with you lot?
What an interesting video and a productive one too. I would love a set if those HIKMICRO HABROK Bino's I'd find them very useful. Like you said, travel light and I do when I can. Apart from my Tikka's (T3X Aspire in 243Win and a T1X in 22Lr), I don't go anywhere without a thermal spotter & range finder. Good video guys............THANX.
Living in the East Midlands, I would say there are very few people who haven't seen a Muntjac around here, they are shot on an industrial scale, and still keep coming back. When I was making the daily 5 mile journey to work and back, it would be an exception to not see several whilst driving.
@@dean9235 There are few things you seem unaware of, Muntjac and CWD are not native of the UK, they where introduced and subsequently went wild, they are a serious agriculteral pest causing wide spread damage to the flora, they are becoming a problem on the road with many dying in road accidents, AFAIK all deer shot enter the food chain. Even the wildlife charity I occasionally volunteer for has to take measures against them.
@@dean9235 No excuses, they are the facts. Funny that you think you know how much time I spend working for wildlife, as it happens I don't do any shooting for them, I do however usually work for them four weeks fulltime per year, then we have the work I do on our families farm where we try and be as wildlife friendly as possible whilst still controlling pests so that they don't get out of hand. Looking at your avatur, you might be interested that we happily host foxes.
I enjoy stalking muntjac, although I don’t find it particularly challenging, it seems to be more about luck than ability, but regardless they are the best tasting of our deer
Being from Denmark, shooting fallow deer while using thermal gear seems wild. Unfair even. Thermal and night vision spotters and scopes are stricty for hunting racoon dogs here. 😅
Great video guys :) FYI the vehicle rego is hidden in the dawn sequence but exposed in the return-to-car sequence with first kill. Don't know if this matters to anyone. Keep it up, love the content.
Really enjoyed this- what caliber? Also, are lever- action rifles legal in the UK? If so are they used much? I saw this and thought it would be awesome to hunt these with a Savage Model 99 in 22 Hi-Power. (5.6×52mmR) Thanks and keep up the great work you’re putting out.
Lever Actions are legal in UK, but I don't know anyone who uses them for deer. For Muntjac and CWD, the regs are minimum of .22 inches and muzzle energy of not less than 1000 foot pounds and a bullet weight of no less than 50 grains.
'Not tall enough for this wood' almost rings the reverse Hollywood line, 'this town ain't big enough for the both of us'. Great video - Merry Xmas TGS!
Another great video from the TGS team. Your meditation comment towards the end I 100% agree with. Stalking and wildfowling have the same positive affect on my mental well-being. Keep it up
I REALLY enjoyed this. I liked the deer information a lot, and learning about the forest too. I know you having to get rid of guns lately, and will have to rebuild. So...Recommendation: The new Dark Series by Marlin in .30-30 win would be the perfect gun for this kind of hunting if you're going to be in the market again soon. An Anodized aluminum handguard with M-lok, threaded barrel, nylon stock with M-Lok, fiber optic and ghost ring sight, and Picatinny rail for scope. Merry Christmas.

Well done mate. Another top notch TGS production.
Love your Choice of Rifle Johnny 👌

While its always great to follow your adventures, hats off to your camera colleague.
Great video. I realize how hard it would be to film and keep it interesting. You did it!

Superb film. The first deer I shot was a muntjac buck. Magnificent looking beast and very good eating.
Great video! More like this please!
Fantastic video Jonny something magical walking the woods thanks from Ireland

Shame on you people in the East Midlands. It's the people that are the problem, not the deer!

Good work? Killing graceful animals that hurt no-one? You are warped.
Big thumbs up from Cornwall. More of this great content please!
Nice to see lots of deer John Steve from hull
Brillant video

Great video Johny, let’s have more on rifles and stalking, happy Christmas,
jolly good show overall - and tasty
Another Great Video 💯 Thanks 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
That's a tiny target! Some of the best conversations I've ever had with God were in the woods. Well, I thought it was good conversation.
Looks like a really good time. How do they taste? What's a favorite meal?

"We were cooking on gas". Nice.
Interesting little dear!! Good hunting!!
Thanks for sharing, nice to see something else than shotguns…. 🙄😜
You should do a video on deer hunting in America. We have real sized deer.
There is normal size deer here ahahhaha
Curious what caliber you are using?
Great video love muntjac stalking, how was the new Alpex 4k?
What is the brand name of the rifle Tim is using?
In India we call it "kakkar"

Is thst a 222 rifle you use for the small deer
'Not tall enough for this wood' almost rings the reverse Hollywood line, 'this town ain't big enough for the both of us'. Great video - Merry Xmas TGS!
Do many guys still use a .222 for muntjac or is it a bit old fashioned now?
Cracking video as always boys 👊happy Christmas to all at TGS .

I'm not really a rifle hunter, but found your video really interesting. Well done
👍👍🦌🦌👍👍
Maybe it’s just me but I’ve noticed several videos now that the thumbs up icon is missing and just a thumbs down. Odd. Anyway 👍🏼👍🏼
😮
What a great film! I went along with a friend stalking for the first time recently and this really captures everything that was awesome about it.
Glad you enjoyed it!

curious what that muntjack tastes like
Very good - a lot of hunters reckon that of the six species of deer in the UK, this one is the best
