May I ask why that’s disappointing? I to was taught wood to metal, but why sad? If you want to think about this logically, wood to metal although is the traditional way you then have to raise the muzzle of the gun up from the floor, passing past dogs, other g*ns, vehicles and beaters. Metal to wood means once closed the barrels are pointing into the sky…. Sometimes traditional isn’t always best. Times change. Ways change. Those that refuse get stuck in the past and found pleasure in moaning about others… good day.
Like yourself I routinely shoot .410, but more as a preference in all aspects of shooting from vermin control to game and wildfowl. With 410 lead loads close in price to 12 bore and Non-Toxic loads currently rare and if available very expensive. Bismuth .410 are over £1.50 a shot if you’re buying them by the 1000. Steel loads are not commercially available in the UK, or really viable as an alternative to lead due to being limited by the volume of space available, my home loads 10g of steel #7 is the maximum capacity of the 3” cartridge. Whilst effective , only at close range. TSS , tungsten super shot, the newest option, from USA, is by far the most effective, again I load my own, my last purchase of TSS was about £100 a kilogram. This is equal to 71 x 14g loads, at £1.40 a shot not taking into consideration the cost of the other components. With more interest in sub-gauge use in both hunting and clay shooting, what does the future hold for .410 and to less extent the 28, with the phasing out of lead shot? Will it fall by the wayside? Will there be exceptions for it in game shooting and or vermin control? Will it become an expensive toy only permitted for niche clay shooting? Thanks and Regards D.
Good to see you edited out the low ones this time 👍
That looked like a cracking day 👍👍
I definitely was!
Looks like you had a Great day out, Excellent videoing 👍.
Thank you
Fantastic video! Blue skies, lots of birds, good company and beautiful guns. What more could one ask for? Until next year!
Gutted you couldn’t join us!
Great vid as always mate. Need to come see you soon
Thank you mate!
That gun is stunning.
It is an absolute cracker
The Krieghoff , you can’t possibly go back to anything else after experiencing those triggers.
Thanks for the video. Wish there was a spot like this in the U.S. Just bought a 410 Rizzini BR110
I love hunting with a 410 or a 20 gauge, but shells for a 410 are SO d@mned expensive. I had an old Ithaca 16 gauge and foolishly traded it.
Nice video disappointing to see you load your gun as though you were shooting clays metal wood as opposed wood to metal

I’m sure it’s a fantastic gun to shoot but that kreighoff is bloody hideous😂
Adverts to long before video
The annoying backing music killed this film for me. I stopped watching well before the halfway point.
