    Does driving with the express program make you ineligible for the sign up bonus ? And thanks for these videos, they've been super helpful in navigating the best rental options !

    Does the hertz lyft rental program allow me to go outside the city like going from LA to San Diego ?

    Currently I think the mileage policy for GM might have changed and is the same as Hertz check out this link:

      Hey Kali! I just checked the link but it still says "the cost when driving for personal use is 25¢/mile." in small print underneath...

    Does anyone know if the Hertz Lyft Express allows you to pick up the car with ONLY a debit card? The one linked to my Lyft account. I'm so financially fucked at the moment I my CC got closed and in collections.

    Hey there nice video. I was wondering if you can answer a question for me. I signed up for Lyft, they said my car is too old, so I had to give a deposit. And got approved for rental, but no vehicles available, it shows a rental thru gm so I click on it, then it says no vehicles., try again tomorrow, For over a week now. But I actually want hertz not gm because I don't want to pay for personal miles. Anyways is there anything I can do to find out where hertz locations are or how long I will have to wait do you think before a rental might be available? I from flint Michigan. When a vehicle is availe will it show hertz or am I gonna be stuck with gm only? Thanks for any feedback you can provide

    Lyft Express rental car is making me sick. I asked for a new car but they said Not until my 28-day renewal. I pay up to $243 a week for a car and I expect it to be a clean one. The carpet is black so you can't tell it's dirty. How can I work if I'm sick

    I'm actually considering trying to lease a car but I'm afraid to actually go trough the process since I don't know much about it . Don't know difference between xchange or bama ..

    I just signed up with Lyft and need to rent a car. MAN!!! Compared to back when you made this video, the value has really declined! Now it's $15/mo if you do 130 rides in a week! And drive less than 90? Gotta pay $185. Wow. Seems like the good days are in the distant past! Thoughts?

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому

      Gabriel, you are absolutely correct. My experience is that it pays to be an early adopter. Over time, more people will find out about it, Lyft/Uber will realize they can extract more rides/money/time out of us and adjust the requirements. I always try new services and offers if they make financial sense and use them until they no longer make financial sense 😀

    Thanks for the wise & informative input; I was just thinking of trying this. How hard or easy to meet the 80 rides per week? Like how many hours a day; how many days a week to reach that? How hard is it to maintain 90% acceptance; like what are the common reasons to decline a fare if you're trying to meet the 80 rides? - Thx

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому

      Hey! Great question! Ride requirements are a funny thing, because you never know how long your next ride will be. I've done long rides that take an hour and I've also done short rides, where I finish 5 in an hour. So the ride requirement is kind of a silly idea, in my opinion, because it doesn't equate to a certain amount of work...
      It's not too hard to keep the 90% acceptance. The main reason I would want to ignore a request is it's simply too far away. Here in LA, any ride more than 5 or 6 minutes away could turn out to not be profitable and I don't like to take that chance.
      It depends on your market, but as a general rule, I would expect to be able to average 2 rides per hour. The best way to approach it is to get ahead in the game the first few days of the week. You don't want to put yourself in a hole with 50 rides to finish in 2 days...

    How do you record your iPhone screen?

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому +1

      Hey Ejay! I use a program called Reflector on my PC. www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/
      If you have a Mac, I think there's a way to screencast and record through AirPlay without any additional software. Let me know if I can help anymore :)

  • @brucekingfield8439

    Did Hertz. Lyft raised the number of rides needed for a free rental every week. First 65, then 75 then 110. Keep in mind that you get liability insurance only so you are on the hook for any damage.
    They also deactivated me 5 rides away from bonus with no clear explanation.
    I busted my butt for what turned out to be about $3 hour. Skip it.

    well in my experience it's not worth it, I'm in between cars and the price I pay is way more than having my own car, yeah you get free maintence and insurance, but even with maintence, the owned car is cheaper.

    Insurance included?

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому +1

      Hi, Chip! Yes, Lyft's insurance covers you while you're driving for Lyft and Hertz's insurance provides the coverage during personal use. With the GM program, I'm not entirely sure.

    • @RGCV1
      @RGCV1 7 років тому +1

      Rideshare Genius thanks! Looks like here Hertz is not available but the GM is with free miles. Thanks for your help.

      What city are you in? GM with free miles for personal use too?

    • @RGCV1
      @RGCV1 7 років тому +1

      Rideshare Genius Nashville. I don't think personal miles are covered but another driver told me he keeps his app on until he is a few miles from home.

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому

      Yes, that is a strategy you could use but you will be playing a game of chicken... leave the app open and get a ride request when you don't want to drive, what do you do? Accept the request and give the ride, even though you don't want to be working anymore and who knows where you will end up and then you'll be in the same position again, app on even though you don't want to drive... OR don't accept the request, but what if that will send your acceptance rate under 90% meaning you'll be responsible for paying the weekly fee on the rental. There is a way to make it work as long as you understand what you're up against!

      Rideshare Genius I'm considering it, do you have any experience with hyrecar.com ? I've been looking at that site, it seems legit so far. I'd like to get into driving, any help would be greatly appreciated!
      Nice videos too. They're really well made.
      Thanks,

      Thanks for watching, Jay! I looked at the hyrecar site a while back but the rates seemed to be higher vs Hertz for example. I guess you could get the Power Driver Bonus and guarantees with Lyft so that might be an advantage. I'll try to check out the site soon and maybe try it!

      Tony, thanks for stopping by and I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. Was it mainly because of the mileage charge like I discussed in this video? Or were there other problems? I would love to hear from you so I can let other drivers know even more info on the GM program and why it might not be a good fit. Please reply here or contact me directly if you can! Thanks!! Ezra
