Its a wild turtle so its illegal in Florida for them to keep it. They need to put it back. Please do your research and never encourage keeping wild animals its illegal in all 50 US states and all have different penalties and very high fines. Its also extremely cruel to the animal

In this instance its putting the turtle back exactly where they found it in the driveway. If they refuse or ignore veing called out you report the youtube and fb channels to state fish and wildlife so they learn the hard way. No excuse for animal cruelty of any kind

I had turtles for about a decade, figured out they weren’t the pet for me a while back. But here are my tips if you plan to keep him long term: Min size tank you might consider looking at is 55 gallons, might even recommend 75. They grow fast and it’s best to make the one time purchase of the large tank instead of upgrading them as it grows. They love warm water and need a space where they can get /completely/ dry. Investing in a canister filter might be worthwhile since they are incredibly messy. And I wouldn’t recommend adding fish in the mix; if it can fit in the turtle’s mouth, they will eat it. I know of some people having success with live potted plants. Bare bottom tank will make weekly water changes a breeze! So might invest in a Python vacuum? As for the filter you have now, might consider looking into diy media for it, to save you the hassle of having to replace the filter every month. Hope the tips are helpful!
I know this is an old video, but my 5-year old autistic grandson would absolutely watch a channel that was of just a turtle swimming in it's tank! I constantly put on the videos of colorful live aquariums for him to watch while he's falling asleep, but his real love are turtles! lol Thank you for sharing your family with all of us!
I like how abby's responding more to follow up prompts, like when Asa asked her to say thank you, and she responded to the words "thank you", but then when he said a completely unconnected sentence, like, "you've got to do it for real", she knew what you meant without the designated words and did the thank you sign correctly. It seems like so much progress with that in not that long.

I love Squirt! I used to have turtles as well, and I have a bearded dragon now. Make sure Squirt has both UVA and UVB lighting as it's essential to his/her health and growth! Love you guys!
Yeah but heat lamps aren't the same, UVA/UVB is needed in addition to a heat lamp. Otherwise shell deformities can be a problem. I'd suggest checking out Snake Discovery's channel about turtle care.

7:43 Reminds me when I was younger, my sister got 2 hamsters from Petco. Wasn’t long before we found one dead in the cage, the other had killed it. Apparently you shouldn’t put teddy bear hamsters together in a cage. I mean they’re not in individual cages at Petco, and they didn’t tell us not to when we got them... I will say we brought the half bag of bedding and things back, and they gave a full refund. Live and learn 🤷🏼♀️

Does squirt have a UVB light? Regular heat lamps don't cut it with turtles and they're shells will start curling up :(

You need a UVB light so that the turtle doesn't get metabolic bone disease and the heat lamp.

@@seriousblond007 I help care for 4 men with autism and we sedate for dentist. We use to have a traveling dentist that would come to our home.

My 18 year old daughter is exactly like you and she cries very easily. In fact, she gets emotional every time she sees you cry! ❤️
Hello Maass family. Tips for the new pet. I've owned many red ear sliders and they really enjoy dry krill! You can find it in the fish section at Walmart. Turtle can be messy eaters. 7:43 Reminds me when I was younger, my sister got 2 hamsters from Petco. Wasn’t long before we found one dead in the cage, the other had killed it. Apparently you shouldn’t put teddy bear hamsters together in a cage. I mean they’re not in individual cages at Petco, and they didn’t tell us not to when we got them... I will say we brought the half bag of bedding and things back, and they gave a full refund. Live and learn 🤷🏼♀️
