So my 3 year old daughter has cerebral palsy and has high functioning autism. I was watching this video on the tv and my daughter sat on my lap the whole time watching. She has a girl in her preschool that does stimming as well. Watching Abbie she said “she like my friend Carla”. And I’m so glad watching your channel not only helps me but also helps me have an open conversation with my daughter about the difference in people and how to be their friend. Thank you Maas family!
I dont know why but I got emotional when Abbie and all of you were dancing with the characters. The pure joy flowing out of all of you just really tug on my heart strings. I'm so grateful for you guys, you show real life, the highs and the lows, the struggles and the triumphs. I love you all, and appreciate everything you do.

Seeing you guys dancing made me cry. I love DisneyWorld. I know it sounds corny but it really is the happiest place on earth. Every time we go, we get to escape the real world for just a little bit. Life is hard. It’s great being able to take your family somewhere and not feeling like odd man out. So few places like that.
Oh my gosh, I’m just so emotional watching Abby interacting with all the cartoon characters, especially the rabbit. And how special they were with her. ❤️

Okay i'm with Isaiah at the peak of my life crying over characters from disney, the way they treated abbie and HER SMILE!!!! impossible to not cry, its adorable 🥺❤️ so glad you guys had so much fun and so proud of abbie!!
Abbie enjoying the Big Al’s Country Bear Jamboree show or whatever had me dying. I was in Disney World with my marching band in December, and my completely neurotypical, 16 year old friend insisted on seeing the show and dragging our entire high school aged group to see it. She had about the same reactions as Abbie. It seems like Abbie is just a teenage girl living her best life!
I'm here in Scotland, it's cold and wet and my fibromyalgia pain is bad, but for 26 minutes I smiled and forgot about everything. You guys looked like you had the best time. ❤❤
Abbie has no idea how many lives she touches daily. Your sweet girl makes so many people smile just by her smiling. Thank you for sharing your family with us!

This was awesome....Disney is my nephews favorite place. We are taking him next year...he hasn't been since he was small. I truly cannot wait to see the look on his face when he goes again. I could cry thinking about it!
I started BAWLING 😭 during the part where Briar Rabbit was with Abbie. THIS is what makes Disney so magical. This is what we pay for, and this is why I will ALWAYS go back.
SUMMER! ASA! CILLLA! - *hair tip* since you’ve noticed that the short flyaway hairs on the front of Abbie’s hairline wont grow out, the pigtail braids she has in the video are an excellent “protective style” that will allow her baby hairs time to fully grow out and not experience breakage from the constant rightly pulled rubber bands! They could even be giving her headaches, who knows? Since she needs to keep her hair out of her face for behavioral and functional reasons, the braids accomplish that without the constant strain of ponytails and buns that usually keep her hair pulled back. Might be a skill worth learning for her caregivers, just a thought. So glad Disney was fun! Much love.
Watching these type of videos where I am watching one of my favorite UA-camrs but ALSO able to be informed of what it is like to have a child with autism at Disney is simply amazing. I love the awareness that all of you are bringing to the disabilities community!

She is raised in so much love and happiness... it’s beautiful to see your family (and friends) always smiling and loving life. It is truly inspiring!
What a magical day guys! The smiles Abbie gave melted my heart. Maybe I should've let the kids play hooky and joined you! Magic Kingdom looked practically empty compared to how it's been lately. Every time we go, it's crazy crowded.
I just want to tell you and your whole family what wonderful and genuine people ya'll are, but I wish I could tell yall in person and give yall hugs. I have been watching you guys for a year now, and it has made me become more aware of how I treat others with autism and your channel is honestly one of my favorite 😁 keep up the great work.
My son was recently diagnosed with Autism and we have been reaching out and learning as much as we can. Then I found this video and it is right up our alley as we are going to Disneyland this summer and are trying to prep the best we can. Thank you!
Abbie looks like she had an amazing time at Disney, I was there last week it’s a lot of fun me and my dad go to Disney almost every year I have cerebral palsy and use a power wheelchair and is my happy place glad you guys had a great time
Awww. Abbie appeared to enjoy herself and seemed to handle the day really well. I loved how the characters spent plenty of time with Abbie and also signed back to her too. Glad you all had such a fantastic time at Disney. I hope to get there one day with my nephews. Love from the UK ♥️
I loved this episode so much! We recently made a trip with our HFA teenager to Universal and they were so amazing with all the assistance they provided. He had such an amazing time and only melted down once due to the heat. I happened across your channel after my non-verbal nephew was diagnosed. It has helped us to understand the many challenges our own child faces with autism as well as helping me to better understand my non verbal nephew. Y’all are such an amazing family! Much love 🧩
Thank you so much for sharing that video, I probably cried through half of it. They were tears of joy. I was contracted and worked behind the scenes for Disney On Ice for nearly 20 years. Every day that I went to work I felt like I was going to the Magic Kingdom. It was so nice to see Abigail smile, laugh and interact with the characters. Your whole family seemed to really have a magical day. I hope your family gets to take another trip to Disney soon. Much love from Bartow Florida.
I was cracking up when Asa said that it was only him and Isaiah having a sword fight 🤺 and when the character pulled Summer out to dance her face was priceless 😂😂
I imagine that all your everyday incremental practice of desensitizing Abbie over a decade at local restaurants, football and hockey games, escalators, a small train in a farm and local amusement park and so on and so forth enabled this best experience at Disney. If you were afraid of failing (yourself and for your daughter) and stayed rather home and inward, you could have not done this and she would have not known this joy. Small successes and small failures bring us something huge! Kudos to you!
3:40 - I totally understand what Priscilla is saying. When we were there in the beginning of December, we had to get to the parks SOOOOO early to be able to beat the insane crowds and get the DAS set up and do rope drop. I will say, that helped a lot. We were allowed to set up the DAS before rope drop, so while everyone was rushing to get to rope drop we were setting up the DAS and there was essentially no one in line and no wait. We were in and out in 5 minutes or less. But they should have a system to make it a little easier for those who can't brave Disney that early.
If you stay on-site and have a magic band, it is a lot easier. You can set it up with any guest experience kiosk and it lasts the whole trip. Sorry it is so rough for those staying off-site.
Holly Stiles this is when researching the other ways of going about it comes in handy. Those blue umbrellas set up around the park they also can take care of DAS. The person in your party who the DAS is for and you (unless they are an adult and can do it themselves) can take everyone’s cards/magic bands and have it set up also. Research is key when it comes to Disney
@@CortHiatt Yes, but we only travel with 2 people. So the person as to go everywhere unfortunately. It doesn't work for every situation. And yes, we know about the blue umbrellas. They don't like being the ones to set it up as they are open for ALL guests not just ones with special needs. They've been slowly fading out working on the DAS at the blue umbrellas from what I heard from cast members when we were there.
@@andreakubiak4778 We stayed on site and were told by Disney cast members that there were only 2 locations to get it set up and the line at the outside the park spot was WAAYYYY long so we hopped in line to get into the parks before it opened and city hall was empty. But it's not realistic for a family who has higher needs and can't make it into the park until noon. They should let you set it up at your hotel when you check in.
I know this is an old vlog, but it makes me cry when characters interact with those with disabilities, they are the people in society that others tends not to understand and may avoid, many years ago I took two gentlemen with autism to Disneyland Paris, and I shed tears there too at the parade as the characters made an extra effort engaging with them, it really makes it magical for all.
Okay y'all got to quit making me cry. Shopping for the dress, night to shine, now this magical trip....I'M A HOT MESS!!! Llove that Abbie had such a great time. These kinds of trips are stressful for families without special needs so you guys all rocked it. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
From the very beginning of your channel to now, there’s a remarkable difference in your family. Today I see pure love, happiness, enjoyment and excitement for life. Regardless if it’s at Disney, a cruise or at home, there’s a sense of overwhelming peace. Some “haters” have put you through such torment especially the last year and yet you all continue to rise above and live in the moment, happily. I love seeing Abbie and her beautiful excitement, smiling as big as she can. I love that Asa and Cilla are not afraid to have her take chances and experience life....the way all kids should. When I first became a follower and an Abbie’s angel, I was learning about Autism and how I could be better. Now, I still continue to learn but also witness a family grow, strengthen its bond and breathe happiness into a world that is often clouded by darkness. Keep going Maass fam bam!!! Much love💗

Despite my autism diagnosis myself I always remain calm when having a picture taken with these Disney characters every-time I’m at every Disney theme parks and for my autism I stick to my rides and shows that I always like including the carousel of progress the ride I’ve been singing away to myself all those years when I’m here
I worked at Disneyland for 12 years until when I quit recently. Seeing the joy and magic your family experienced really reminds me of the magic I was able to create for others while working in entertainment. Thank you for posting and sharing the magic.

Love how abby had a hold of Asa's arm on the ride.
Love how the characters made Abbie feel included! Totally awesome! ♥️
Much love 🧩
Yay! Been waiting for this. Can’t sleep until I’ve watched the vlog 😄
So glad you all got to see Happily Ever After!! It makes me cry every single time without fail. I hope you all had a magical time!
I cant believe Abbie went on Thunder Mountain! She did great!
What a wonderful experience! Haven't been this early to a video as I'm usually sleeping, much love from the UK.
Yessssss!! Hey vlog squad!! So looking forward to this video!!
Much love💗
What an awesome comment. Thank you so much for your continued support. We appreciate it more that you’ll ever know.
This vlog is one of my top favorites. Seeing Abbie have so much fun and experience this with a smile is amazing. GOOD JOB CILLA AND ASA ON BEING AMAZING PARENTS!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

This is such a cool experience for all of y’all! I work with college students who have Autism and for the ones who have been to Disney, loved it!! This definitely put a huge smile on my face today
Her smile once she heard the band! :)
I've been watching your channel for about a year now. This video brought me tears of joy! I have no connection to Autism other than to help spread awareness and a smile. Ab has come such a long way! She had such a positive outlook and spreads a smile wherever she goes!
Love from Illinois. Mama kat❤
So cute, I'm glad y'all had a good time.
Despite my autism diagnosis myself I always remain calm when having a picture taken with these Disney characters every-time I’m at every Disney theme parks and for my autism I stick to my rides and shows that I always like including the carousel of progress the ride I’ve been singing away to myself all those years when I’m here
That rollercoaster footage was out of this world!!!!!!! I felt like I was on it with you guys I was cracking up out loud 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I worked at Disneyland for 12 years until when I quit recently. Seeing the joy and magic your family experienced really reminds me of the magic I was able to create for others while working in entertainment. Thank you for posting and sharing the magic.
Abbie needs to play the drums!! Seeing how happy she got hearing the band from far away, I can just imagine how excited she’d get to make the sounds herself. And that beat was rockin
I absolutely loves seeing Abbie so happy! It looked like all of you had so much fun and I love seeing all of the families together having fun.i couldn't stop smiling the whole time. Thank you for sharing
