  • The DEWALT Skimmer has a 0.3mm, high-quality, high-precision European stainless steel blade. With an extruded aluminium blade back that is lightweight, but also offers high-strength and rigidity.
The blade inserts are replaceable. Its high-impact, glass-filled composite end caps can be easily removed, allowing for replacement of the blade inserts. Optional handle adaptor and extendable handles are sold separately, ideal when working with high ceilings.

Also looking for a good storage solution for these. Possibly looking to purchasing a rifle case. Any suggestions. To pricey to not have a good way to store and transport.

So are the dewalt blades identical to the Level5 ones with just different branding/colors?

Dewalt ones ain't cheap. 80 bucks for the 32 in. That's why I'm watching the video to see if they are worth it. Because they are almost the price of level 5 blades

I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on how to store the blades so they won’t be damaged

Use some pipe insulation and just run a blade down it

They come with that little hanger clip in the box with the extra end caps. It took me a bit but I figured it out hold the blade vertical and put the hanger on the end and press down it then clips over the endcap. Now you can hang it on the wall or you can do what I'm about to do get 2)1x6 52" long
      2)1x6 22 1/2" long and a piece of 1/4" plywood 52 3/4" x 24 3/4"
Dado each 1x6 1/4w & 3/8 deep use kreg pocket screw jig and on 22" piece drill 2) pocket screws on each end. use CA glue and activator or wood glue and screw 3 sides insert ply and add back piece cut 3 strips to add as inserts 4" w and inside length. I'm going to make an attempt at using a router possibly after positioning them for placement to have them sit tilted fed then drill some holes for parachute cord (boot shoe lace) fish it thru and knot it on each side you need to make 4 rows for the complete set to fit into. Length is 52 giving you 50 1/2 inside measure your tool dept. They are all the same, blade and handle. Height is 3.62 so 1x6 should be adequate to be able to angle them leaving the back open will maximize front to back by allowing the next row 5o tuck underneath the fist. so you can have the smallest case in width as possible. Only measurement that is a guess right now is the 22 1/4. But there is an attachment and 2 poles to consider as well. You think that with just how much we invest into these blades and they aren't cheap but worth every penny because of just how efficient they make skimming. Can do an upstairs single home in days when it use to take weeks. That they would have a case already designed for this. I'm going to post the case I build in the comments by sun oct 17th and yeah I'll most likely be selling them as well. I'm making mine from solid maple ix6 and 1/4" maple ply. An expensive and quality tool needs a quality case with a 3/4 x 1 1/4 framed lid lol
