I used a different compression VST for this to see if a freebie one could get the results I wanted. While it gave me the overall level I needed I couldn't get the gain and threshold correct so I gave up.
Mush Having a lower overall level is far better than having your track audibly squashed, you don't have to push your master right up to 0db for it to sound good. What were you trying to do with a free compressor that the stock limiter couldn't do for you?
