Hi, thank you for making this review - it's tipping the scales in favour of purchasing the FritzBox 7590. I have a question, do you know if this will work with BT VoIP phones? I have the BT VoIP business set up which includes fibre, static IP, VoIP phone and a regular phone. At the moment I am using the service with an old BT modem and Google first-generation wifi pods (3 of them).
I found the answer. Yes, the Fritxbox will work with BT VoIP phones. However, if you are using the Google Nest Wifi like they are in this review, then you don't need a Fritxbox. A good modem will work fine. I'm using a Netgear modem, HP Switch and Google Nest Wifi and it's flying.
I don't know if it was about some earlier version of Google WiFi, but reviews I saw a year ago or so, said that the speed wasn't too good, maxing out at around 300-500 Mbit. That's the reason I never bought Google WiFi back then. I currently use Vodafone Super WiFi from my carrier, which actually gives me fairly close to the gigabit I pay for. For my Linux desktop computer I connect a TP cable to the second unit and speedtest gives me similar speeds as if I had plugged the cable straight into the modem, just not having the hustle of dragging cables. (I haven't found any 5G USB WiFi dongles with good Linux support for a reasonable price, hence the need for cable). Can you do some speed test copying files via the WiFi between two computers or something? If you get somewhere near 1Gbit, it might be something to check, if I ever find a USB dongle for 5G WiFi that works well for me in Linux.
Love your video. You mentioned Google home works fine on a P40 Pro without GSM ? I installed it from Apkpure, but it doesn't work. Did I misunderstand what you said ? Cheers
@@TechMagnet thanks. Do you suggest i Reset my p40 pro before installing GSM? Thanks for your channel and for what you always share Witz je becsuse ITS always very useful and with honesty on tech.👍
I have sagemcom fast 5260 router through spectrum. I have 9 or 10 devices including gaming systems, Google assistants and smart lights. Would this be a better option over my current router?
I currently have the Asus RT-AC68U router. It has multiple ports on back which are occupied w/Internet connection, Philips Hue bridge, Sound Booster speaker by Sonos. The Google Nest Wifi only has one port. So I guess I wouldn't be able to use it because it doesn't have ports for the above things?
I haven't watched the video, which I do plan to do, but I did just recently upgrade from Google Wifi to Nest Wifi, and to be honest I've got more devices going offline now than with the original. Speeds are much faster, when they connect, but if the don't connect....
I thought so too. Spent a couple hours over the weekend with their tech support, and was still having issues. Now I've got my Nest Wifi, and three of my Google Wifis setup and while the mesh test shows a weak connection to all points, I don't have anything disconnecting or buffering.
I stand corrected. One of my Nest Wifi points keeps going offline completely. Unplug it, plug it back it it's good for a few days...then... I do have a lot more buffering going on than I feel I should have as well. (400 Mbps internet speeds.)
I also use this Google WiFi product. Unfortunately it does not work properly. I have one google router and 2 additional WiFi points. The router is placed in the main livingroom (almost in the middle) and the two WiFi points are placed on the first floor. One on the front and one on the back of the house. The second floor is barely covered by Google WiFi. I still get an weak signal and we own a regular 3 floor home. Google says to place the additional WiFi points closer but they are already so close to eachother. The signal from my external isp router which is connected to fiber is extremely fast (744Mbps download, 422Mbps upload). I have to reset this router almost daily to reset the signal. So I am not very satisfied with this WiFi solution. My old solution from Apple (extreme airport) was much better and the WiFi signal was much stronger. Am I doing something wrong?
I just bought and has the same issues but on the first floor with one hub and one point. Google tech support figured out it was because I had “Nest Witi Cloud Services” toggled off under WiFi settings. Reset the whole system after toggling it on and has been fantastic. Might be worth a shot to check?
oogle initially emailed me stating they would send me a replacement router and I could then send back the defective product. However the customer service rep refused to honor Googles own offer. I spent nearly two hours explaining how I work from home and could not send the router first. I emailed several times with no response. I was so disgusted with googles customer service that I went out and purchased another brand.
ok wait wait wait.. you take about any linksys router and plug a internet connection into a outbound slot of another linksys router and it dose this automatically and it give you 4 more slot to expand and you can keep going get another 300 feet of cat5 or such and extend you network to china
@@TechMagnet i get the idea but think of it like this your wifi is there to connect to somthing like a phone or computer and that will have the assistant on it so its kida redundent
I really appreciate you muting the "G" word and not freaking out my phone. lol

I agree! I’ve literally watched probably 4 before this and ALWAYS had a question unanswered! 😂 not here though, great job.
Do you disable the existing wireless modem before or after the Google Nest Wifi setup?

Download the "Google WiFi" app which has advanced options AND you can provide access only for the WiFi part.

It works only when gms installed sorry for the misunderstanding. But installing gms is not too hard

Did you check out the Linksys Velop MX10 Wifi 6? Or the Orbi 6? Those networking devices smash Google's weak wifi 5 mesh router to little pieces

What about tech specs? How many antenna inside? Tri-band? Mu-mimo? Wired backhaul possible?
All that kind of stuff I need to know in a review please.
You're on the wrong youtube page.
@@nialldewar those specs are on their website. havent taken it apart yet.

For me the best option isn't a mesh i use a extender the tplink650 and works fine similar to an ethernet cable
true, i just wanted to switch completely because i also have loads of google home devices
