    2024 seadoo switch limited looks good, wished they put the 325 ace Rotax in the 21 foot. It really does need the higher HP with the bigger size an additional person capacity

    The solo pilot drag racing is interesting, but comes up short in depicting real world applications. Would love to see some performance vs gross weight vs load distribution runs for various models.

    Your comments about turning differences port to starboard are correct but i have found that adjusting the vts greatly affects turning to port. With vts set to lowest position it is possible to get the hull to bite more allowing for a tighter turn but no where near the crisp hard over to starboard.

    when I was first looking at the 13 ft switch, the dealer was putting a swim platform on it. was told the rear of the boat is the same for all three seizes. sea-doo says they don't make it for the 13 (on their website). I did some research on it and was told if the boat is over 13ft, it has to have a catalytic converter on it. the swim platform adds about 2 feet making it non-compliant with EPA laws. another dealer told me they do not install them on the compact sport because it could flip the boat over upon rear boarding (not buying that). I want to put one on mine just to keep swimmers from stepping on the jet drive trying to get in the boat, there is always that one person who doesn't listen to you or doesn't care.

    • @JetBoatPilot
      @JetBoatPilot  Рік тому

      It will bolt on and if you have the boat on the trailer the boat could tip if you step on the swim platform. If you do add it, just add some braces and position them aft of the trailer wheels when boarding so you don't tip. Some use jack stands.

    I'd like to see a comparison with the 13 foot Switch. I wonder if the 170 HP engine in the smaller hull would actually perform like a 21 foot Switch with the 230 HP engine.

      Go with the garmin transducer offered through sea doo. It is internally mounted in the engine compartment. It utilizes a thin layer of coolant on the mounting plate that allows it to work through the hull without any holes created. I have had it in my 21' 230hp for two seasons now with no problems.

    Great video, thank you! Question about choppy waters. A rule of thumb is the bigger the boat, the better it handles rough waters. How noticeable is the choppy water ride comfort between the 18' and 21' Switch?

    • @JetBoatPilot
      @JetBoatPilot  10 місяців тому +2

      Both boats handled much better in the chop than traditional v shaped hulls we've driven. We were surprised at the ride to be honest. The 21 does ride better but not so much better that I'd make my decision on that fact alone. Both felt sure footed and smooth in average bay chop here in Panama City.

    • @JetBoatPilot
      @JetBoatPilot  9 місяців тому +1

      I have not seen one but I can tell you that at lower speeds the outer pontoons on the Switch take on some water to give the boat more weight and stability in the rough. This makes the boat handle rough stuff better than other jets I''ve been on. You'll feel less of the pounding impact force on the Switch than other jets. I have not compared to a high end pontoon though.

    Junk... Had one for about 80 hours. Underpowered. Engine blew rod out the block. 21/230. Engine has to push too hard. Luckly the warranty covered the motor so I could get it sold...

    If a boat can't do 50+ it's useless to me

    The SeaDoo Switch looks like a floating Pack & Play for adults.

      I agree its different looking, but honestly I have not had this much fun on a boat maybe ever. They are like riding a PWC but you get to take your whole family along. SO FUN!
