Got my first ultrawide a while ago and was mindblown by the additional immersion in games, after you get used to it it's very hard to go back to 16:9. Bought it for productivity but it ended up being a big gaming upgrade lol
@Edward Jam then you are oblivious and delusional. even plenty of current games do NOT properly support that aspect ratio. some games do not work at all in that aspect ratio. some games simply zoom in thus cutting off some info from the top and bottom. some games have screwed up hud elements even if you do get the image to properly scale. some games dont properly display on screen effects outside of the 16:9 area. most games do not do the cut scenes in anything other than 16:9. some games distort the edges of the image outside of 16:9. FFS you can spend more time trying to tweak and fix games than actually playing them. hell there is even a whole website dedicated to trying fix and address most of these issues. bottom line is that it is YOU that is talking out of your ass. you are the same type of moron that will tell people SLI works great in all your games too...

Depends, but since I'm rocking an rtx 3080 and playing mostly Single Player games my gpu averages 160fps depending on the game and settings, so imo this is the sweet spot, I also play CoD a lot and going from my old Acer 144hz monitor to this one, is like night a day, I'll say 165hz is more than enough for me, the image itself is smooth and no more blurriness that I had from my old monitor. Not a big difference of HZ but image quality in general was big.

21:9 should be supported by every game, the reason that some games don't support ultrawide because the developer block it. Dragon quest 11 ver 1.0 can use any 21:9 resolutions by editting the hex value. The dev didn't like it and updated the game version and ultrawide doesn't work anymore. The happens to some other games that the dev don't like 21:9.
Why they do this tho? They got nothing to lose. If I ever make my videogame a reality it will be 21:9 and have VR support! Best experience ever without even leaving the spawning point xD
You should revisit with fps showing. Just got my first 21:9 today. Wanted one the first time I saw one on display at microcenter years ago, and it was just one of the first 25/27" (something like that) tiny ones by LG. Had never heard of the format, was there for like an HDMI cable and it stopped me dead in my tracks. Got a 35" 1440p today. It should last me until the rtx 6000 series is released 😁

Some people object that not all programs are optimized in 21 9, like older movies and video games, but what a problem it is ? You will have the same surface as 16 9, you just have to consider that a 34 "equals 27". Because you all went en masse from 4 3 to 16 9 and not 21 9🤔🤔🤔
@@MrXaniss depends, its a very great monitor for casual gaming, but since im more into FPS games it didnt suite me. The response times are slower compared to a regular gaming monitor which felt obvious when i compared them side to side, but i’m picky. If you’re a casual player you’ll love it, it’s great for gaming and even greater for regular multitasking

33% more pixel to render, 33% less frames and more VRAM/RAM speed/size would be required... GTX 1060 6GB / R7 570x can do 2560x1080 without issue (60-100fps gameplay)... For 3560x1440p you do need to upgrade to something way stronger and "4k" ready since you have 150% more pixels to render (massive difference) There aren't middle grounds when it comes to ultra-wide and wish 2:1 (2560x1280) was a thing since I don't find 21:9 been the perfect aspect impo. 2560x1440 16:9 (80% more pixels) is more demanding than 21:9 2560x1080p, so that's something good about it and is where a jump into GTX 1070/2060 might be required for most AAA titles.

I need to test it by myself but in the DOOM test I felt I could focus better with the 16:9 than the 21:9. But the other tests are just like coming from looking through a window to being in another world...

Yes. I play on 21:9 ratio on my laptop. Use a custom resolution of 1920*822 in your Nvidia control panel. Can't go back to 16:9, no matter how hard tried.
For UA-cam it depends if the uploader optimizes their video in 21:9 otherwise the standard is 16:9 on youtube. But for Movies. The standard is made for 21:9 because they film movies using 21:9. Therefore, movies and games are meant to be viewed in 21:9. Btw if you watch youtube videos with a 21:9 monitor there will be black bars on the left and right

The good thing is that if you watch movies, and they were filmed for cinema. It's usually made for the wider screen. So you'll actually see more

Yes exactly. If you wanted the same vertical height as your 32" 16:9 you'd need a 38" ultrawide
