    Thank you so much for the tour. So interesting. I recently acquired a Buddha Belly caudex plant here in Fl to go with my adeniums, ponytail palm, and pregnant onion plants. The caudex world is so intriguing.

    I loved seeing those older Welwitschia's. I have a bunch of Wely's but they're al young I can't wait to see mine get big like those.

    Very nice information about caudex plants. They are definitely interesting plants. Does the 2000 years bulb ever grow a flower?

      I don't think the plant produces flowers, just male or female cones. There is a cone on one of the plants in my video.

    Rachel, I am absolutely excited with this series of videos at Kew. I am crazy about some caudex plants, wonder why I do not have more, maybe because only now they are getting available here 😉 One thing I am very interested in and have always fascinated me are the intelligent strategies plants use to survive and multiply as well as the simbiotic relationships they create with other plants and insects. Amazing world !!!!!

    Rachel, as usual so interesting especially when you can’t travel across the ocean. But I also wanted to check...when was the led grow light giveaway winner going to be announced. I didn’t remember seeing what the time period was going to be. Thanks Thanks for sharing both of these videos -Kew.

    would you consider these as easy-care plants?

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  4 роки тому

      I think caudex plants are quite easy-care plants. There are many different ones, however, and some are much more fussy than others. For the easier ones, if you have a sunny space and are not someone who tends to overwater then they should do well.

    I've been hearing about so many illegal poaching and selling of these types of rare plants that are making them endangered? Though they are beautiful I'm learning to either adore them from afar, grow them from seeds, or do the research to find a nursery ethically growing and selling them.
