Just a correction, rubiaceous ant plants do not have extrafloral nectaries inside their caudex. Rough internal surfaces are modified root-like structures that absorb ant debris.
Very interesting and good video, do you know how many there are? hydnophytum, myrmecodia and myrmephytum species in the world... I happen to be in Indonesia... we have several...
So do these ants ever leave their plant for ...let's say sweet things on the ground? Or are they specific to trees? Kudos on the video..I never knew about ant plants.

I want this green house. It's a heaven for me.
This was a fantastic video but the seedling murder hurt me deep 🤣
I read somewhere that they can heal from being cut in half pretty well so there's a good chance it lived if it makes you feel better lol

Enjoyed this nice, informative video, Steve. As soon as we volunteers are allowed back I will be checking the Ant Plants.
Steve what a great video. I'll surely be looking for these plants when we visit again.
Excellent work! Hello, Steve, what's the day&night temperature for them?
Omg, thanks for the detail and knowledge!
These ant plants are fascinating.
Great video, love ant ferns / plants, would be interested what potting media you use, many thanks from the UK
I've just ordered some Lecanopteris. May I know what you use as a soil medium in your planters when growing these species?
The species of ants are usually Philidris sp. and Technomyrmex sp.

Do you have to keep ants then in your gardens where you have these plants?
❤❤❤😊
how about this plant for health care and flavonoid in that plant?
What is the name of the long tuberous ant plant?
Epic! Love the ant fern. What’s it’s botanical name?
There's a couple of genus, but the one shown is Lecanopteris sp.
Myrmecodia, myrmephytum and Hydnophytum species
