I mentioned Mazinger G returning for Battle Dodgeball 2 but really a whole bunch from Go Nagai are in it. I'm just not super familiar with those properties
Most of it is Devilman, since Akira Fudo and Sirene are the other main players in the Nagai team alongside Mazinger. There's also some Getter Robo in there, too, but that's Nagai and Ken Ishikawa as a team.

Devilman is amazing! Considering how he and Mazinger where both created by Go Nagai, it makes sense

Oh my God, you have no idea of how many memories of me playing Super Dodgeball games as a kid you just unlocked. I used to love those games and I honest to God had forgotten all about them until this video. I genuinely thank you for that, MIB!

It should be noted that the Mazinger team in Battle Dodgeball 1 has Getter Robo who is owned by Dynamic Productions and has crossed over with Mazinger but is otherwise seperate. In Battle Dodgeball 2 it seems they replaced the "Mazinger Team" with a general "Go Nagai Team" as Great Mazinger & Getter Robo have been replaced by Devilman & Sirene from the Devilman Manga & OVAs.
Also, for some reason, the Artwork shown on 2:44 has Grendizer instead of Getter Robo on Team Mazinger. Grendizer was part of the Mazinger canon back in the 70s but has since become its own thing.

@@MonsterIslandBuddies I fell into Getter Robo & Mazinger Z hard back in 2017 thanks to Super Robot Wars V. I didn't want to " Um Ackchyually" in the comments and just point it out as more of a "Fun Fact" for fans.

Hopefully, in the near future, MIB will cover some of the other Compati Hero-related games (i.e. Ganbare! Boku no Compati Heroes for Sega Pico, Great Battle 6 and the Super Hero Sakusen duology for the PS1, Tokusatsu Adventure Drama Super Hero Retsuden for Dreamcast, Charinko Hero for the GameCube, Great Battle Full Blast for PSP, the Lost Heroes games for 3DS and PSP, Heroes' Vs for PSP, Super Hero Generation for PS3 and Vita, and maybe similar games like Battle Formation and Super Tokusatsu Taisen 2001 for PS1 and Grand Red for Saturn).
Maybe some of the Super Robot Wars games and other mecha crossover games can get covered down the road?
I’ve got all those compati games either as physical copies or emulations. I’d love to finish the series. Super Robot Wars will be tough because it’s a format of game I’m not super into personally

One notable thing about Battle Dodgeball 2 is that it is one of the only (if not the only) Banpresto games to feature the Gundam Mk-V, which, as of 2024, has never appeared in any of Banpresto/Bandai Namco's more famous Super Robot Wars games.
The MK-V always appears in the SD Gundam G Generation series though, except for Cross Rays since that one omits UC.
It was planned to appear in SRW Alpha 2 with the spirites still being in the data along with other MSs from Gundam Sentinel.
However, only the Refined Barzam (albeit just referred to as Barzam) made it to Alpha 2.
Still bummed out by the fact that Sentinel was cut.
I really enjoy all the shows you make, from the main MIB series to Play Time, Video Game Reviews etc. This video continues to deliver entertainment throughout.

Fun retrospective to get out of nowhere. I'm a big enjoyer of the whole Kunio series and I've played several of their dodgeball games, I only recently was able to find a copy of battle dodgeball and it's fun! Worth playing for the franchises featured and how the "story mode" lets you level up your characters exactly how you want, unlike super dodgeball which is more straightforward

This video needs more attention. Tokusatsu heroes dodging each other is great, but people shouldn’t avoid this video.

In the Kunio double dragon collection they removed the flicker and slowdown from super dodgeball. I suggest the collection they fixed all the flaws due to limited hardware specs.
Of all the Go Nagai franchises i expected to be in this series, Devilman was not one of them, not even the more family friendly toei Devilman, no the OVA Devilman lmao, althought it seems Sirene wasn't so lucky she has to put on a shirt lmao.

So.. Super Dodge Ball Advance/Bakunetsu Dodgeball Fighters for GBA gets left out? That was my introduction to that franchise which I didn't know was a franchise at all instead of an experimental sports title! I liked the graphics and game feel in it, even if it is considered a spinoff title as Kunio-kun is absent in this one.
