From being an atheist to surrender my soul to Mother Mary and Lord Jesus Christ it all happened due to blessed Mother Mary's love and blessing. The Miracles Mother did in my life is beyond words. My prayers for you and your beloved Child our Lord Jesus Christ.❤🙏
For me, I've always believed in the intercession of mother Mary since my childhood even though I was born and grew up in a non Christian family. The second time I asked for her intercession, God responded and I promised God not to doubt for life. This until I converted and baptized Catholic 15 years later. When I went to the Catholic Church, the very first thing happened, the priest gave me the Rosary. The comfort I felt was unbelievable, it was as if mother Mary was telling me I brought you here. I believe in Mother Mary's intercession by experience, even before I became Catholic and since my childhood. This experience by all means was a factor among others that led to my conversion. Since I was introduced to the Rosary, I've never broken the habit of praying.

Although i normally like the homilies of Bishop Barron, this one was INCREDIBLE. Very few strike the balance of Mariology of making it relevant, plumbing the depths of Catholic Tradition but not making it so intellectual as to be more like an essay, or a bit too twee. Felt like the disiples on the road to Emmaus. So much burning of my heart as i learnt off this great man.
Agreed most debates on Mary fall into tradition vs scripture but the bishop beautifully connects that scripture is a fruit of tradition but also tradition is proved by scripture.
Bishop Barron has alluded to the book by Brant Pitre “Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary” in the past and all these are explained in detail in that book. I used to be guilty that I cannot defend our making Mary the highest of creatures from my protestant friends but it is that book that really opened my eyes. Bishop Barron sums up it up brilliantly.
As a person who was seminary trained in the Protestant traditions, Mary is swept aside. As I grow in faith, I am realizing how much more expansive the Christian life is than just a focus on Christ. You have helped me expressed the balance that is needed.
Who is the only human being to spend all 33 years with Christ. Who is the only human being ever to contain Jesus' divine DNA in her body (fetal microchimerism)? Two points you might ponder.
@@HAL9000-su1mzMary, yes. But fetal microchimerism isn't why she is revered. Because Joseph didn't have this yet he isn't somehow not as important as a parent, (Mary is holier yes, but not more human than Joseph). It's because of her FIAT we adore her, and because God choose her.
Yes, there's so much to learn. If you'd like to learn more about the biblical basis for the Marian teachings Brant Pitre is great. You can find some videos online from him and he has also written a book called "The Jewish Roots of Mary".
I didn’t believe in praying the rosary even while being raised a Catholic. I started praying the rosary a few months ago and something absolutely miraculous happened in my life. I can’t explain it. If I told the story few would believe me. An incredible experience
No it's that reason Mary wants you to share your story. Don't hide it for the evil one doesn't want people to know. Share it joyfully, because it may touch someone's life in a profound way.
We would believe your experience. Yes the Rosary is incredible, I am saddened it has been neglected in the church and not promoted where I live in. UK. Please pray for all clergy who are not devoted to Mary, that they, like John may love Mary and take Her into their home 🙏
Bishop Barron’s explanations about Mary’s place in Catholicism and the rosary etc were crucial to my awakening and conversion from my Bible-based fundamentalist faith (which I describe as primitive Catholicism, but weak in teachings on the Holy Spirit). I had emergency surgery to remove a 6 pound mass removed and am facing chemo, but don’t yet know the extent or prognosis or other details-all 10 days ago, and unexpected. I have been extremely thankful for the rosary and the divine chaplet and for my conversion and every mass I have attended, and for blessed clergymen like this one who have provided for my spiritual needs. I need Mary to be a mother to me now, and I’m so thankful that Bishop Barron made me understand I can rely on her to do so as an active form of worshipping Jesus Christ. Im thankful that I have worn the miraculous medallion for many months, and prayed novenas for two other cancer victims, and that I can pray now for the dying, the sick, the lonely, the lost, and those grieving. What a gift I have received, and how I wish to thank this man. Merry Christmas, father. Thank God for your capable and selfless service to promoting the gospel and the teachings of the church.
Thank you so much for sharing these enriching faith-filled experience of yours. Your sufferings become redemptive because you surrender it to God and it helped you to stay close with Him through the intercession of our Blessed MOTHER. God bless you!
Have you received the Sacrament of Anointing? If not, GO! I have received it too many times to count, having now survived 4 cancers, two of them at stage IV. 75+ tumors. 0% prognosis. 7th remission. Masses as large as that removed from you are often benign, so please take some comfort there. As to chemo, I have received 21 anti-cancer drugs and I am delighted to be anywhere. I view the journey - which is far from over - as a challenge. You have innumerable Saints interceding for you as well! Prayers ascending!
God bless you. Thanks for sharing your story, which will likely touch the heart of others who need to hear it - you are an evangelist. Praying for your complete recovery. As another person said, be sure to receive the sacrament of Anointing. Merry Christmas! May Christ's peace be upon you every day.🙏🏼
“IF” you have not already, please consider going to Adoration of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, also known as “Holy Hour.” Time spent in our Lord’s Presence is priceless. Call your local Catholic parish and find out when they offer it. Some parishes offer 24/7 Adoration. Simply go, sit in Christ’s Presence. TAKE YOUR BIBLE! Read scripture, contemplate, pray. Tell Christ of your love of Him, and of your worries and doubts, even your fears. Then, be as patient with Christ as He has been with you. Grace will flow and when you receive the grace to know that HE IS THERE, you will be forever changed. Miracles occur in Christ’s Presence - of that I can personally attest.
I highly recommend the ten-part series "Catholicism" on UA-cam by Bishop Barrron. I especially remember liking the episodes on Mary and the last one on the end of time.
@RitaGattonl will look for it. I don't consider myself an ex Catholic but l currently worship in a prophetic church where the bible is taught several times a week. I owe most things l know about the bible to the pastor of this church. But l haven't stopped praying the rosary or honouring the blessed Virgin Mary and those will never stop. There is a rosary app l normally use to pray the Rosary and this Bishop is my goto voice.
Me too. From an early age Mother Mary has been my love, my protector, my inspiration and my hope. With her help I hope to see the face of God and His blessing.
Hearing Bishop Barron describe Mary as a protector/soldier reminds me of a time back in my early 20’s. Back then, I was living in a cheap, windowless basement apartment in the PNW. One night I was awoken around 3 am by what I can only describe as a dark presence that felt like it was pressing down on my entire body while I was lying in bed. I was petrified and started praying. I could hardly move but eventually managed to lift my right arm and turn on a lamp next to my bed. The moment I did, I felt the presence lift off my body. Then I saw something incredible. On the wall in front of me was a shadow that I instantly recognized in my heart/mind as the silhouette of a pregnant Mary. As a Protestant, I had never given much thought about her so this was such a strange/delightful experience. Thanks so much for this beautiful message Bishop Barron. ❤
You have no clue what you are worshipping. Research Semiramus (Mother of God, Queen of Heaven... sound familiar?), Ishtar, Easter/Eastre, Isis, Astarte, Ashtaroth. You might understand why protestants don't worship pagan goddesses then... The main focus of Christ's ministry was false religion, false teachers, and false believers, FYI
Thank you! If I would have even a fraction of Mother Mary s obedience and purity of heart, Christ will be born in me. Humility, obedience and purity of heart, this made Mary the perfect vessel chosen to give birth to Christ, and this will prepare me to be worthy having Christ be born in me.
Cradle Protestant and recent convert here, currently in OCIA...forging a relationship with Mary has been one of the sweetest and most beautiful aspects of coming to the Catholic faith. As a Protestant, I had it all wrong about her (and most everything else, lo!). Bishop Barron's sermon just adds more beauty to my blossoming relationship with Our Lady. Thank you!
Mary has been my bridge to what I've needed most in this life. I resisted Christ for so long and then was called to pray the rosary. As I did more and more she opened my heart and made me a believer. Forever grateful 💕.
@@TheologyForThought? Praying to God through a holy person is praying to a demon? The Rosary consists of the Apostolic Creed, the Lord's Prayer (which He taught us) and the Hail Mary, which consists of Biblical quotations and a request for prayer. If you understood what the Church teaches, you would make fewer mistakes in arguing against the Church (which I know you need to do because if you stopped Protesting, you would have to become Catholic.)

Creedal Christians in the churches that trace their descent from the magisterial Reformation will have very few objections against these claims, Bishop. As an ordained Presbyterian minister, I will be preaching to my congregation tomorrow a sermon in which I will refer to Mary as the Mother of God, the new Ark of the Covenant, the Mother of the Church, the Mother of all Christians, and the model disciple. Let's put an end to the polemics. Imagine what separated brethren can do for the world if they were reunited.
Thank you, sir. I can't wait for the reunification of all Christians when the world could see what we could do together! It would bring about what Our Lord prayed for three times in John 17 before He went to the Garden of Gethsemane. It would make Him so happy!
@Newgrist Thank you for this articulation! It is disappointing that so many low-church ‘solo scriptura’ types box themselves into a Mary-disparaging corner.
Blessed Mother Mary is a beautiful mother. She loves her son, she wants us to love him as she does. What child doesn’t run to their loving mother when hurt or happy? She is our heavenly mother, who brings us closer to our Lord. Go to her as you would go to your mother, for love, wisdom and guidance. One of Bishop Barron’s very best homilies. Thank you, Bishop.
The Virgin Mary is a demonic spirit named Ishtar. The Bible calls her the queen of heaven. (Jeremiah 7:18 ) When you do the rosary, know that you’re performing a ritual that comes from Hinduism. Don’t let these people lead you into hell.
I’m not a superstitious person. But, just a week ago, for some reason I felt a presence I could not explain. I felt uneasy, I felt like I was being followed. something malevolent. I couldn’t explain it. Evil. So I searched my entire house, looked around outside and couldn’t find anything wrong, but I still felt that feeling of dread. Climbing into bed, I tried playing positive music, hymns or anything else to make me feel better. Nothing worked. Finally, I played Bishop Barron’s Joyful Mysteries Rosary. My wife, was not happy, she told me to turn it off. So I filled her in. She then got freaked out, but we waited for the rosary to finish. For about 10 minutes, I was still distracted as the rosary was played, but I forced myself to focus on every single word. Every. single. Word. And nothing else. Maybe five more minutes passed by and my wife just asked again to turn it off, I said “turn what off?” And realized I completely forgot what I was worried about. I can’t explain it. One of the weirdest things I have ever experienced. I asked my wife the next day, and she told me she woke up multiple times in the night and just prayed the “our father” and it seemed to help her. We’re not the most religious people but we’re both technically Catholic. When Bishop Barron spoke about unseen threats, this ringed so true. We would have gone to mass the next day but it was a Friday.
Welcome back, I wish you and your wife the holy grace and peace that comes to one freely when we commit to our Lord and the wonderful Catholic faith that includes Mass and following the sacraments. God bless you both.
There should be mass offered every day just FYI. Get to confession and receive Our LORD in a state of Grace. It’ll change your life for the better and heal your marriage.

A beautiful side-effect from me praying the rosary everyday, took the form in me wanting to learn how to pray it in other languages. I obviously know how to in English, but over this last year I learned how to pray the rosary in Spanish, Italian & French. German is next. I’ll be visiting Rome next year and plan on praying the rosary (everyday I’m there) with a different language every decade. Good job and way to go Bishop Barron, talking about all these topics. I think it is important, and I am grateful to God that someone is able and willing to stand up and start a discussion about these topics. A person can talk about this stuff from a variety of positions. And it needs to be done. On the other hand, I consider, to myself, though there are many perspectives, there is only One Who can see what actually pertains. It is important to talk. It is also important to do, as Jesus Christ said. I love what Jesus said. His sayings involve doing, and personal participation. Jesus Christ truly is the good Shepherd. I love Him. He said, "Why do you call Me Lord, and do not do what I say?". And is it not all there, in the scriptures, Old Testament and New?

Another wonderful, and for me; timely Homily from Bishop Barron! As a reconvert from agnosticism, I have been seeking Jesus through Mary and praying the Rosary almost nightly, and now I understand why her intercession is so beneficial and effective. She who was chosen to be born without the stain of original sin, who remained sinless throughout her life, who gave birth to our Lord and Savior, who fed and nourished Him during His most vulnerable stages, and who compelled Him to begin His ministry at Cana, is truly the new Eve and Ark of the Covenant! I understand through her intercession how she suffered for Him, how she knows Him better than all but the Father and the Holy Spirit, and her prayers are powerful and effective! She has led me and my family closer to Jesus! I will take your advice and carry my rosary always. ✝️🌹📿🌹

Awesome! Be thankful and the meaning will unfold over time.
We would believe your experience. Yes the Rosary is incredible, I am saddened it has been neglected in the church and not promoted where I live in. UK. Please pray for all clergy who are not devoted to Mary, that they, like John may love Mary and take Her into their home 🙏
I would love to hear you! I believe!

This Bishop is getting me interested in the catholic church again!
Amen. Time is shorter than we think. Make haste and return. 🙏

As a child, Mother Mary led me to her Son. I will be forever grateful 🙏 ❤
How? (Cheers)
Mary even tends to those who don’t believe for what she is… There are no words to describe Mary…❤️😊
I stay Catholic because of Mary. As Catholics we rightfully honor her. What a tragedy for Protestants to lose out on her graces.
She’s a demonic spirit named Ishtar
Only God gives graces...only God and no one else...not even Mary!
@@carolknapik7426 "Hail Mary...FULL of Grace....." Even you and I extend "graces" toward others! Another Protestant FAILURE! 🙄
If only you knew you would humble yourself and accept this great teaching and ask for Virgin Mary's intercession. God bless you
Mary’s response to the Annunciation says it all “ let it be done to me according to your will.” Mary’s trust is something we can all emulate.
Thank you Bishop Barron… you have lead me to return to the Catholic Church..
Woohoo!

Thank you!
If I would have even a fraction of Mother Mary s obedience and purity of heart, Christ will be born in me. Humility, obedience and purity of heart, this made Mary the perfect vessel chosen to give birth to Christ, and this will prepare me to be worthy having Christ be born in me.
Beautifully said!
Thank you!
'Christ sits upon the throne of wisdom', what a beautiful image of the Madonna as the embodiment of spiritual wisdom!
Mary has been my bridge to what I've needed most in this life. I resisted Christ for so long and then was called to pray the rosary. As I did more and more she opened my heart and made me a believer. Forever grateful 💕.
You are praying to a demonic spirit
Explain for me further Kiki
@@TheologyForThought? Praying to God through a holy person is praying to a demon? The Rosary consists of the Apostolic Creed, the Lord's Prayer (which He taught us) and the Hail Mary, which consists of Biblical quotations and a request for prayer.
If you understood what the Church teaches, you would make fewer mistakes in arguing against the Church (which I know you need to do because if you stopped Protesting, you would have to become Catholic.)

Bishop Barron is a treasure from Jesus to all Christians. I feel he will be canonized one day in the very far distant future I pray.
Hail Mary Mother of God!
I'm a Catholic but I audit an evangelical service once a week. The pastor at that church regularly refers to Mary as Mother of God.

When you do the rosary, know that you’re performing a ritual that comes from Hinduism.

Why should the Man offer additional instructions at this time? Did He not cover and address all pertinent topics while He was on Earth?
I don't think He would have left anything out. I don't think He left anything out.
