I did it!!! I had to keep going back to review each step! I am so ADD! I know that after I make a couple more it will all come together for me. I made hundreds of masks during the height of Covid and could eventually make them without referring back to the instructions. I like that the glasses case closes without a snap or anything else. Ty!
Thank you for talking and explaining what you are doing. I truly appreciate that. Too many channels just play music and point, and put numbers on the screen. I hate that.
What a great tutorial - thank you! Your instructions are crystal clear. I used denim and I think next time I do that I will trim the seams down. (Hammering really helps remove bulk from denim seams, too, if anyone else tries using denim.) Also, I didn't have any polyester foam so I used a scrap from an old sweater that I had cut up for another project. It worked just fine. Now, my husband wants me to make him one. Thank you for this excellent video!
I have always loved your videos because of their clarity, detail and straightforwardness. Today, however, you totally amazed me with that closure! 😮🎉❤ Thank you, yet again!
That looks so professional when it's done, thank you :) I was proud of myself and now my husband has a place to keep his sunglasses attached in his truck :)
Thank you! 😃. This method is to keep the inner lining from coming out and also to have the closing seam right at the bottom and not on the side. It’s the little details that are important to me for a nicer finish. You can always skip some of the steps but they really don’t take that much extra time. Have a look at my other glasses case tutorials. They are simpler. Cheers!
I like this project that you sews here, but I use for my mobile celular .It was made one time for me with another material as foam because it was not found in shop. But last day I find foam in my mother's sewing things but not so thick as yours and I will repeat this sewing this days. From Spain,Saragossa and Barcelona I wish you a happy merry Christmas and a new happy new year. Postscript: sorry for my posible writing faults
I made it. It was a bit confusing to follow and I felt there must be an easier way to accomplish it. The flap although made a lot of sense initially , once closed it was clunky. I’m not a complete novice but not an expert either.
that’s excellent Tina! It’s definitely not as easy as most tutorials out there but I wanted to create something with a lining that wound not pull out. You can also use stretch fabric for the top to make it easier to turn
Although I did make some of these eyeglass cases a few months ago, I am now ready to give up. I’m telling you this because you felt it was confusing same as me! I was making these for a fund raiser at church. Someone wanted one in one color. Making the lining the same fabric as the outside fabric just added to the confusion. I am feeling badly because I don’t like to disappoint anyone especially a sweet lady like my friend. 😢. She will understand but I want her to feel that her wants are important to me! Praying I can find a way to bless her!🙏🏻
Hi Angela, this I can make !! Love the simple closure ! No buttons, no Velcro , flip and secure ….now why didn’t I think of that 😁😁😁 That’s why you’re the professional and I am not …hehehe .I like the idea of twill cotton ribbon or tape. Easy . I also prefer your choice over batting . Nice and squishy 👍👍 . This is perfect for my reading glasses when I travel . Never know where to put it for easy access when I have to read all the forms for entry to a foreign country . A carabiner clip to hook to my travel pillow around my neck. Angela , May I ask and challenge you ? Can you design a luggage tag made from quilting cotton ( not vinyl or cork or leather ) that has a cover flap with some kind of fastener over the clear vinyl window . I don’t want others to see my name , address or mobile exposed . The flap cover over the clear window vinyl will prevent that. The only luggage tag I see on UA-cam with flap is in leather , cork …too expensive where I live to buy as Christmas gifts . Getting ready to hopefully travel sometime in 2022. So are you up for the challenge? You make THE BEST tutorials ! Clear and full explanation. Thanks so much for your consideration! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks Berniece! It’s not as simple as other videos but I prefer seams sandwiched together. If you find flipping band too hard , you can always use a bit of stretch fabric instead. I rarely flip mine to be honest as it stays in my bag ok. You can also use ½” elastic for side loop too. Have fun! PS I will take up your challenge! Will get back to you for details. Please email me and I will have your email to get more info. Cheers!
I like your professional work and I would like to know if you have an instruction manual for all your designs. It would be easier for me to follow. I am a real beginner. Thank you CCJ
Thanks Maureen. I see what you mean. I kept the lining and top fabric as solid colours so would be a good contrast for the viewer and there was no right or wrong sides of the fabric. I do mention in the tutorial what sides to put together in the steps. Thanks for watching!🙂🙂
@@jen_crochetfun basically yes, however stay stitch is generally machine stitching used to minimize stretching on areas that might be prone to do that, such as necklines, bias areas. Basting can be either very large machine or hand stitches with the goal of holding fabric together in preparation for final sewing.
A selvage is the tightly woven edge of a fabric. It prevents the side edges of the fabric from raveling or fraying. Don't use the selvage in your project because it is more densely woven and does not have the same stretch or weight as the rest of the fabric. Thanks for watching.

Such a smart solution. Perfect for securing glasses without bulk or tricky snaps.
Your instructions are clear and concise. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Love the fold over top to secure the glasses!
Thank you. You can also use a stretch fabric for the top band so it’s a bit easier to fold over.

I really like your tutorial! Love the fold over to close the glasses case! Ty!😊

Such a great project! Thanks, Angela! 😀
Thank you😊
Very interesting technique, thank you!
Thank you! Cheers! I don’t like linings to be loose inside bags and cases. Thanks for watching.
Excellent technique and wonderful results! Thanks so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Easy and best ever idea
Glad you think so!
Awesome! Turned out good. I need more practice sewing and then it will be great! thanks so much!!
Thank you😊. Please have a look on my channel for a couple of more eyeglass case designs. Cheers!
This is like having a magic wand!
You can use STRETCH fabric for the top band if you want the top closure. It’ll be a bit easier to flip.😊
I love your videos! I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m going to try one of these today - thanks for sharing your brilliance
Have fun!
Wow can’t wait to try so simple I like it
Hope you enjoy😊

Love the video, very clear, is it possible to obtain the written instruction?
Thanks Yvonne. You can download the transcript y of video from yr desktop😊
Nice tutorial. It would nice if the lining fabric and top fabric had an obvious front and back side. I found it confusing in the video at times.

Wow
Flip the top to close 🤯🤯🤯
LOL- Not as easy as those flex openings that you squeeze but good if you don’t have the hardware. To be honest, I rarely flip as it stays in fine.
Hello, I do not know stitching but if I learn stitching clothes will it be easy for us to learn to stitch cloth cases from ur tutorial.
Madam are regular sewing machines used for sewing clothes be used for sewing bags. Or specific machine should be used for these.
You can use regular machine

I'm getting ready to sew this, but am wondering what the finished size is?
approx 3.5" x 8 " Thanks for watching🙂
Inspirational! What type of craft foam do you use and where can I buy it? Thank you.
Thank you! There is a link in the description. You can use sew in or fuse in foam.
What is the difference between a stay stitch and a basting stitch? Don't they serve the same purpose?

Can I ask why you remove the selvedge and not use it as part of the seam TY so pretty and u make it look so easy
A selvage is the tightly woven edge of a fabric. It prevents the side edges of the fabric from raveling or fraying. Don't use the selvage in your project because it is more densely woven and does not have the same stretch or weight as the rest of the fabric. Thanks for watching.
