My 60 year old mum came with me to a recent concert as a last minute thing (I was going to go with my sister, but she had to drop out) and she had a great time! She'd never really listened to them before so she wasn't sure what to expect, but she was very impressed by the fire effects and loved most of the songs (particularly Sonne and Rammstein). We sat in the upper circle and brought binoculars to see the stage from where we were, and it was a great experience for both of us. They really do offer something for (almost) all ages!

Live is an Epic moment, so you have to say, "what´s happened here". and later you doesn´t find any Words. They are Phenomal great.

Rammstein has to be seen live, because they are a weapon there and the incredible crowd control is a trademark of them and no matter in which country they play, the audience sings in German like in Paris .🆒
The action with the fireworks did not even take place in a stadium but in a hall ( Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy) and would be unthinkable in America due to their immense safety regulations. If they go on tour there, the fans will miss a lot and will never get to see many really wicked effects!
By the way Til does this specific move, called "Til Hammer" cause he had dislocated his knee before a concert and repeatedly hit it in the backstage area to bring it back in. The other band members found this movement totally cool so that he he adopted it for the stage !
Apart from the fact that Til is a trained pyrotechnician, at Rammstein concerts a special stage worker is very close to the stage and is connected by a microphone to the person who controls the fire. He feels the temperature on his cheek and gives corresponding instructions whether you can still step it up a notch or the flames have to be reduced.
Another pure madness with with the audience - ua-cam.com/video/fAaIFUXj4-8/v-deo.html
At another concert Til greets his band members, who are carried back to the main stage in a rubber dinghy with a "Welcome - Sign". A political statement for the refugees who have drowned by the thousands in the Mediterranean Sea.
Please look at the live performance of "Ich will" - ua-cam.com/video/zO2t3KQMPPY/v-deo.html - (with subtitles)
"Rock am Ring" is one of the biggest festival events in Germany. The Ring, which we say, is the legendary Formula 1 race track "Nürburgring"(The green hell), located in the middle of a central mountain of Germany, the "Volcano - Eifel". Rammstein was the Headliner and there are more than 85000 fans on the target line and I was right in the middle 😜 and not only the few thousand hardcore fans directly in front of the stage answer Til's questions, but actually the entire audience down to the last row and to have been there and to feel the concentrated energy of the audience was just indescribable !
At some point Ramstein discovered that you can make up with instant coffee. According to concentration, black to red spots appear, which looks like dirt or blood. Flake was hyper nervous all the time during an earlier tour. What did he forget ? That he was made up with lots of coffee in the evening during every concert - Maybe the reason why he needs a treadmill 😉?
But without Flake Rammstein would never have been what they are. Again and again he is only moved into the nerd corner and underestimated enormously. What most people remember is only the treadmill he is running on while playing. Most of the Rammstein pieces are backed by a mostly inconspicuous but sometimes bombastically symphonic sound body combined with techno elements and so much more. It´s done so cleverly that it is hardly noticeable in the foreground. But if you take it out of the equation and mix it away at the mixer console, the rest sounds almost like any metal band. Together with the typical Rammstein monster guitar riffs the keyboards in the background fill up the entire sound, make things round, and not at least because of this Rammstein sound so unique !
Please check it out - ua-cam.com/video/IjGNTqAW58E/v-deo.html - ua-cam.com/video/jRxW5Vzeo0A/v-deo.html (here you can see Til flying)
Exactly this concert in Germany took place about 20 km from where I lived and you could still hear it over a hill in between and see the light show flickering in the distance. You could clearly experience the sound level at which Rammstein are traveling 💥🤯
This melodic sound together with the unbelieveble power that Rammstein brings over is also to be seen here - ua-cam.com/video/Uq41Fmw5CGI/v-deo.html
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, this performance was nominated for the Grammy 👍 - ua-cam.com/video/qFpjMNKxsnA/v-deo.html
The song is based on a true story that happened in Germany. A cannibale looked for someone on the Internet who could be eaten by him and also found someone. Just google "The Rothenburg Cannibal".
Totally whacky. Richard Kruspe tells the story in an interview on the DVD "In Amerika" released in 2015. First the police arrested Paul Landers off the stage and then one by one, the sound became thinner and thinner as the other band members were arrestet and at some point he put his guitar down and turned himself to the cops. For Rammstein, who had come together in the former GDR, the left dictatorial eastern part of divided Germany, America was in their imagination the "land of unlimited possibilities" in which you can do pretty much anything. After a night in jail they know that it was a really stupid idea to perform anything like that in a big city in the "Bible Belt" - ua-cam.com/video/pRXkDYTSAj4/v-deo.html - 😱😉 In Germany, this kind of thing doesn't upset (almost) anyone anymore - we're a little more relaxed there.
One of the best titles by Rammstein but not as well known is Donaukinder" - ua-cam.com/video/Oi-ixUoWAOU/v-deo.html - it´s underpinned by Franzisco Navarro with scenes from the film "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas". But be careful, because for those who have even dealt with the Holocaust a little, this is really hard stuff ! At first I was interested, then banned, then horrified and then there were only tears. As a German with a left-wing liberal background, I would have to hate the camp commandant, but otherwise he is also a father. However, someone who lets the children of others gasify without scruples. But something like this had to happen, I guess, so that he finally recognizes this absolutely inhuman madness and his constant self-deception ! "Wo sind die Kinder" - "Where are the children" alludes to the fact that in German death camps, women and children were gassed first so that no more Jews could grow up or be born. "Keiner weiß, was hier geschehen, keiner hat etwas gesehen" means "Nobody knows what happened here, nobody saw anything" refers to the fact that very few Germans wanted to have known about the concentration camps, which of course was complete nonsense. For example, thousands of apartments were suddenly vacant because the Jewish residents had been deported during the night. The very next day, "Aryan" Germans, mostly belonging to the party cadre, moved in. Then hundreds of civilian German guards were employed in the death camps, who were even proud of their "work" and bragged about it to their acquaintances and friends. I could give many more examples, which prove that it was total bullshit, when it was claimed not to have seen anything and not to know what was happening there.
Rammstein pieces are pure energy and if one can keep his butt still while listening, you should see a doctor as soon as possible 🤣

When Rammstein has a concert in Europe, there are 70 trucks carrying their equipment, the routes of the planes are diverted from that area, and the sound can be heard from a few kilometers. Till is completely dedicated to his music and if you see blood in the concert, it is usually real blood. His "sweat" is actually thermal protection because the heat from the flames is so great that he would have burns if he were not protected. Even the spectators who sit in the first 2-3 rows feel the warmth released by the flames. Flake, the one on the keyboard, asked at one point to have a treadmill during the concert so that he could consume his extra energy. Since then, he uses it in almost all concerts. The visual effects on the keyboard are added later to the post-editing but there were moments, including in this concert in which they used Tesla coils for effects, and those are really real. Anyway, a Rammstein concert is an event that will remain in your memory for the rest of your life. Andrei, am preferat sa scriu in engleza, pentru ca nu stiu daca si in ce masura sotia ta intelege romana. PS.

Don't be afraid, Dominiqua! I have spent time w the band...they are all very educated and polite! They look scary bc they have that black grease all over them...its a flame retardant bc they use alot of pyrotechnics, and are one of the best live bands in the world! They put on a great show with stage props, costumes...other surprises! My 86 yr old mom is going to see them in Sept in a big stadium...we have seats. Their crowds, despite it being mostly heavy music, are very friendly! I've seen them 18 times...always fun! Keyboardist, Flake (pron: FLAW-Kawh) can walk up to 17 miles per show on his treadmill!

They have an enourmes bandwidth, from fun, hardrock, up to serious and softer, but always with a touch of humour in it. Also the whole orchestration, the show, the clothes, the atmosphere they create is unbelievable. I like for example also very much the Piano Version of Mein Herz Brennt, its soft but magical with a demon touch in it. It helps also if you understrand German and know some history to fully appreciate the lyrics with most of there songs, especially Zeit and the one I mentioned above.

The lead singer is a trained pyro technician for many years. So, he works with his pyro tech crew to push more and more elaborate displays of pyro and onstage explosions. Of course they do shows in the US but I just can't see this kind of show coming to a venue in the US. Can you imagine explaining this to the insurance company that is covering liability for something like this. "You're going to fire "WHAT" over the heads of the audience?". "Then rockets are going to come flying back?". "Then the stage will explode?"... probably never happen, have to go to Europe to see a show like that.

You're never too old to find new genres of music & new bands. My Mum discovered Rammstein a couple of years ago, when she turned 80, & she loves them.
Shooting the fireworks at that particular moment happens at every gig. The group are heavy on pyrotechnics & they have gained diplomas in how to do them professionally. In some of their shows they set one of the group on fire. There's another song where the singer, Till Lindemann, puts Flake, the keyboard player, in a cauldron & uses a flame-thrower on it. They can be crude at times, such as riding around on a giant penis cannon that fires out foam or Lindemann pretending to have sex with Flake in a sub-dom way. They always have a sense of fun though & their gigs are spectacles.
They are really quite sweet, family-oriented men in reality. Lindemann went to the train station when Ukranian refugees were first arriving in Berlin, to help out. Several refugees said he approached them, asking if they were all settled, had somewhere to go, had enough money or if they needed anything like food, lodgings, clothes or money. Apparently he was fixing people up with anything they didn't have, such as driving some to where they had to go or took some to get food, which he paid for. They have a big following in Ukraine & also in Russia. Actually they have a huge following everywhere now.
The members were originally from East Germany so lived behind the Iron Curtain & remembered what it was like to live under Russian rule. There was a strict system for performing music at that time & metal was frowned upon. To be allowed to play in public, you had to get a licence by performing your set in front of authorities &, as you can imagine, genres like punk & metal were not liked. On top of that, a maximum of only 40% of your set could be covers & the rest had to be songs you'd written. There was a lot of control on what you could sing. As a result, punk & metal groups tended to be underground & the scene was flooded with spies who reported back to the Secret Service. The drummer, Doom, even performed in a band with 2 spies! You probabky know what it was like, though, given where youre from. 🙂
Regarding not liking crowds, gigs in the UK have to accommodate disabled people. This means a separate place is put aside for people in wheelchairs, etc. I'm sure that, if you have something like a fear of crowds, it would be appropriate for you to be in the disabled area. I'm disabled & I would have no objection to someone being there because of fear. Disabled simply means there is something that prevents you experiencing life like other people, & for you that could be a fear of crowds, so I'd say you qualify. The best thing is that disabled people are allowed to have a carer go free. The bad thing is that some venues put the disabled area in places where you can't see the stage clearly.
Unfortunately you're too late this year. The group has literally just finished the UK leg of its world tour.

Tell your wife, that she has just seen the best live band in the world in theses days. Rammstein is one of the most famous metal bands and are living legends with the same line-up for nearly 30 years. They are a german band and are considered the best live band in the world, especially when it comes to showmenship, pyro and fire. Rammstein concerts are lifetime experiences. The videos of Rammstein are Art, their Lyrcs are art, their music is art, the Voice of the leadsinger is unique, but famous all over the world is Rammstein beacuse of their live shows, the best in the world in these days. Above all, Rammstein uses pyro quite differently than all other bands. Watch the concerts Rammstein live at Madison Square, Rammstein live in Paris and you will understand. Compared to Rammstein Kiss are preschoolars.
Rammstein's music is a mixture of techno (electronic music) and metal (= industrial metal), although Rammsteins origins are in punk music. Rammstein concerts are a life time experience that you will never forget. Their videos are art but also often controversial.
Rammstein also refers to classical German literature, e.g. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's. Several of their songs are related to controversial and taboo subjects such as sadomasochism, homosexuality, intersexuality, incest, pedophilia, necrophilia, cannibalism, pyromania, religion and sexual violence. Also several of their songs are allegedly inspired by real-life events or politics. Rammstein lyrics are very deep and are also often used in school and universities around the world to learn German. There are people who learn German only because of Rammstein. Rammstein fans are considered to be the craziest and most fanatical fans in the world. In concerts from the hardcore fans all over the world it is expected that you can sing along with the German lyrics even if you don't speak German.
