@VANESSA’S VANLIFE JOURNEY Thank you for watching our video! Yes, there are fees that are set by the Texas State Park system which is usually around $20 per night unless you have a Texas State Park pass! 🤩

I have learned that Texas State Parks considers any camera more powerful than a cell phone a professional camara, and that photography with such cameras on their property constitutes a "media production". This means that any serious hobbiest, birder watcher, blogger, or what have you will need to get written permission from the Texas State Parks to take pictures/video 90-days in advance. I have also learned that park employees at most parks are reasonable about this while some are not. I am making travel plans, and I do not want to travel anywhere where my passion will be thwarted. Can anyone tell me what it is like here?

@Chase the Blue Dot We have not experienced this but thank you for the information! It is a beautiful park and hope you are able to visit. 🤩

@@OutsidebySide I will certainly have to visit. After communicating with several about my experience, unless this is something new, it seems to be mostly isolated to McKinney Falls State Park and perhaps Austin. The TPWD stated via my legislator that part about bigger than a cell phone, which mirrored that of the park employee at McKinney Falls. I am wondering if it may be local to Austin, perhaps a regional, sector, or district. Anyhow, now I am thinking I need to dig a little deeper...in a nice way of course.. 😊 Either way, I certainly need to visit Lake Livingston State Park. I was near there during the start of the pandemic lockdowns, so we never got a chance to visit. Perhaps it is time to try again.
