They don't make movies like this anymore. The kind of movie that stuck in your heart forever....
That's because acting has improved.
You couldn’t have said it better.

its true …… amazing movie …. now iam 58 yold missing so much !!! classic movies
my favorite all time movie since I was a kid. I'm 52 and remember watching when I was very young.
I would die to lick that your assets, and ass but we know each other and your derek ivie or michael keighron and I walked with my eyes wide opened. And you didn't know I love getting something special with French toast on hair after shampooing and how it's not my thing but how it's highlights or hair dye that's my dye called Loreal or Garnier Fructis every day in past life or I doubt though, Queen of Sheba I was though but actually I shampoo everyday or almost!
Melhor filme que já assisti 😊
Never a more beautiful couple. Never a more beautiful movie.
J'ai vu Hanover street plusieurs fois et c'est un film que j'adore aussi
That was my wife’s favorite song. On the way home from her funeral I was driving her car and I reached up and turned on the CD to listen to music and this came on causing me to pull over for a few minutes. It was like she was telling me she was still with me. I listen to it at least once every two weeks and remember our good times. My beloved MD I miss you.
I'm sorry for your lost! She will always be with you because the love still remains,
You can be sure, this was not a coinsidence - she was telling you that.
She was with you then, and she still is. 🦋
John your wife must have such a beautiful heart... for this to be her favourite xxx
Wishing much strength.
Know that nothing ever truly dies and she’s waiting for you wherever she is. Much love. ❤
If you've watched this movie and it didn't bring tears to your eyes you have no heart. I'm an old man and this movie touches my heart every time.

He touched the page and touched the shower gel and thought of her and at her card and cried.
When my oldest sister was sick with cancer, she insisted that we watch the movie over and over when I would come to take care of her. Her husband had just passed away 18 months before her and it was their favorite movie. When she died at the age of 49 we played Somewhere In Time theme music at her funeral. When I hear this beautiful music it doesn't make me sad. Instead it brings back the sweet memories of watching the movie with her.

Cant say enough about that movie. Best ever made.
My wife and I watched this beautiful movie together, so heart wrenching couldn't talk just held her hand and kissed it often until the movie ended.
My beautiful wife went to Heaven in December 2020. She was 76 and I'm 67. How I truly wish that like in the movie I could travel back in time 💔
We're from Chicago and one of our most memorable trips was driving to Copper Harbor Michigan. Now this movie and wonderful music is so much more meaningful and heart stopping.
I know that men aren't supposed to cry but the pain anguish and suffering of losing half of my soul (the better half) is so unbearable that I'm not ashamed to admit that there hasn't been a day that I haven't cried for my beautiful wife.
She died in December leaving me alone to die every single day since 💔
Blessings sir, you CAN see her again, with both of you in all your glory 💞

My wife and I watched this movie when we were first dating, I lost her two years ago and the clips of this movie make we wish I could go back to that time
Christopher Reeve...one of the most polite, kind, decent, and humble human beings you could have ever met in your lifetime.
That just makes it all the better. : )
He certainly was. He is missed!
Wonderful to see him so young and transparent!
What a man should look like and act like. There all gone now. Only losers left.
@@danielc.8875 I haven't paid much attention in the last 10-15 years, but Hollywood has a long history with some fairly despicable males in leading roles, all the way back to Charlie Chaplin and other silent stars. Reeve was one of the few true gentle people in that industry.
Personality disorders abound in Hollywood, especially Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and they aren't the worst but their not far behind the worst (Bill Cosby is considered a sexually violent predator), Michael Douglas is accused of sexual harassment, Richard Dreyfus exposed himself to a female writer, Morgan Freeman has been accused by 8 different people, Dustin Hoffman was accused by a 17 year old girl of inappropriate behavior. Woody Allen. Kevin Spacey. George Takei. Jeffrey Tambor. Sylvester Stallone. Ben Vareen. That is just some of the leading men over age 60. There are just as many under the age of 60 who are equally as bad.
Director James Toback (73) has over 300 accusers. There are many other directors. Roman Polanski comes to mind, as does Woody Allen.
Go into television and you have Charlie Rose with several accusers, David Letterman with several accusers. Matt Lauer with several accusers.
Go into classical music and you have several conductors from James Dutut (81) of the London Royal Philharmonic to NY Met Opera conductor James Levin (75).
Go into ballet and you have The American School of Ballet having to "remove" longtime ballet chief Peter Martins (71).
Go into photography and you have another whole list of men over 60, each with several accusers.
Don't get me started on the male comedians, as the list is long, long, long.
There are a lot of men in the world, sadly from young to elderly, who have spent their lives preying on the vulnerable, exploiting their employees, students, assistants, and even prepubescent children.
If you wanna read something truly disturbing read about Tom Sizemore (age 59). The 11-year old girl is now an adult and has pressed charges since her parents dropped the charges back in 2003. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/tom-sizemore-was-removed-movie-set-allegedly-violating-11-year-old-girl-1057629/
There are a lot of very, very disturbed and entitled men in the world, and the very sad thing is that most women and girls do NOT report what happens to them. These are just a few cases where there are multiple accusers.
There are some good men left, but not as many as we would hope. Ron Howard comes to mind. Tom Hanks comes to mind.
Then you have the males in Hollywood who had fake marriages and lived double lives with young gay male lovers. They weren't predators, but they sure were dishonest.
I'm a 65-year-old man and I've cried every time I watched this movie.
I am 68 and I cry everytime..

@@lisal8568 Hi Lisa,,,the reason that I Think movies aren't made like this is: the heart of our youth is diminishing in the cold electronics, the general "me'ism" attitude. We can go on and on but the generations of Americans are changing and their hearts are changing.

Has been my favorite movie for many years. I love the storyline, music, and the cast's great acting, especially Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves (RIP).
A most tragic ending to any movie. The most tragic ending to this beautiful man's life.

After watching this movie so many years ago, the only way I can describe it, is this way. Love never dies, It just wanders thru time until it arrives at the place its suppose to be.

This is one of themost beautiful love stories ever written. What is even more interesting is the back story of how this even came about. I cry every time I see it and love the soundtrack. Victoria Johnson I remember seeing this in the theater when it first came out. Although I had never loved and lost at that point, it did bring tears to my eyes. Even though, I believe the movie wasn’t very popular, I found it to be a moving story.
The way he looks at her is magical. So many emotions resonates through him and Barry’s score carries it to your heart. The happiness, the tragedy, the longing, everything packs in Reeve’s way of looking at her.

BEAUTIFUL INSIDE & OUT💗💗💗💗💗💗
Every time I watch this, I shed tears for the sorrow of the character and Reeve. His death was such so tragic and a loss to anyone who loves talented actors.
This movie is so beautiful it is almost unbearable to watch. Two hearts truly in love are not ruled by time nor place. Our hearts know no time. That is how I picture my death.. I float for a moment above this old shell of me and then, I see him, my husband and we are young again, and there is no separation, no time, no distance. I miss him so very much! I wear my ring still and will wear it until death takes me back to him.
Before Christopher Reeve passed away he had several death/near death experiences, and what you are describing is precisely what he said happened. Of course he was revived each time.

Yes, it makes me cry.
I love 'time-warp' films - I believe in time travel. Back to the Future Trilogy is one of my favourites 💚💚💚💕

When he had to go back I was devastated
If only time travel was real
I'll go to the 1920s 30s and 40s.
They made a beautiful couple.
Rest in peace Mr. Christopher Reeves
Absolutely 💯💯💯💯💯💯
Me too!
Jane Seymour admitted in an interview that she had a love affair with Christopher Reeve!
This movie is Timeless and the soundtrack will always be in my heart. Thank you, Christopher Reeve, gone too soon🥺
Heartbreaking. 😥

Yes, one of my favourite movies. Lovely performances from the leads but a sublime score from John Barry. And, who wouldn't travel across time for the sublime Jane Seymour?
I’ve watched only segments of this movie…could feel the touching emotions this story portrayed.
They will live forever. Somewhere in Time.
Somewhere in time
Teu parecer é perfeito.
This is the most wonderful movie ever made; touched me so deeply.....

Have you seen " The Two Worlds of Jeannie Logan (1979) with Marc Singer and Lindsey Wagnor

"Time travel has always been possible in dreams."
True indeed. I have always wondered if time travel can really be possible one day...
@@zahemi914 Read Edgar Gayce, and believe in your heart.
Yes it is true.I can communicate with my love through dreams. It is a bitter sweet pill to experience.
Just fall asleep. 🧖
Not just in dreams. I've done it myself. My whole life change and it's a shift in conciousness only.
This movie was created in the 1980s when many people still considered that love was a matter of life. Love was a serious and dedicated relationship. The producer, director, cameramen, actors, screenwriter, music composer, and all related people created it so beautifully. In the 2020s, we just can't go back in time anymore.
So wish we could! I lost my husband in 1992.
@@lindalewis1998 I am sure that he is waiting for you somewhere. Somewhere in times, you and him will reunite again and again.
The older I get the more I look forward to that reunion!
You have made a good point there.
❤️
I saw this in 1980 when I was still in high school - it was the first movie I saw that brought tears to my eyes. Still does even now.
I am coming back to this heart felt movie, in 2024.... My emotions are that of tears and happiness... The wonder of finding each other, the love they shared, was just so lovely.... ❤❤... 🌹🌹🌹...
The Director of this movie was a genius. Beautifully done.
the first genius is Richard Matheson who wrote the novel. (in french: "le jeune homme, la mort et le temps" éditions Denoël)
I agree.
Director of Jaws 2 lol
Believe it was Richard Matheson who also was involved with the Original Star Trek series episode, The Enemy Within.
who bought the watch?
This is my hope, that one day, when our time comes, we're reunited with our loved ones.
Each needs to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and His payment for our sins in order to be allowed into Heaven.
😭😢
,,😭😭
I know we will be! I feel that truth with every part of my heart mind and soul. Death is not the end of life. I will see my loved ones again, you will as well.
Can you imagine the child these two would have created?
Good lord. So beautiful. These two are iconically beautiful.
Such a beautiful love story. Anyone who appreciates this film must visit Mackinac Island in Michigan where it was filmed. Gorgeous scenery!
My Dad LOVED THIS MOVIE. He probably watched it 30 or more times. He always wanted to take our Mother to The Grand Hotel, but sadly he passed away before he was able to. I go to the cemetery where he is laid to rest. Polish up his plaque, put new plastic flowers up, new flags and solar lights.
I bring some lunch with me and after I’m done cleaning up his area, I’ll have lunch and sit there with him. I’d give anything just to have 1 more hour with him again. I know that someday I’ll see him again.
RIP POPS USN E8 Retired. You are gone from us, but never forgotten.
bob wickman where IS this Grand Hotel?
@@kateli1880 On Mackinaw Island in Michigan. What a wonderful tribute to your Dad. It keeps you close to each other. The singer Connie Francis sang "You're gone from me, but in my memory, we'll always be together!" 😩😩
bob wickman my sympathy for loss of your dad.
Esse romance foi no Hotel del Coronado, em San Diego, CA
😢🙏❤️✝️🙏
Rip my dear Christopher Reeves , Superman 💝🌎🌅🙏💐😷
YES 🥺😔
He will always be my Superman. Can’t imagine anyone else in this role!!
Lindo demais!
The feelings and emotions that this movie invokes are indescribable. Of the thousands of movies that I have watched over the many years of my life, this is the most memorable, and yet the most poignant of movies that I have ever watched. Kudos to Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymore, no one could ever match your chemistry. When I am long gone, I know this movie will live on into many future generations.
You are right! This movie is wonderful... This movie can be classified as a masterpiece of world cinema! But there are some other great films: "Iron Will" (1994), Duel of Hearts (1991), (1961) "La princesse de Clèves"; "Rebecca" (2008), with Hitchcock (1940), but I liked the Italian adaptation (2008) better. "Il boia di Venezia" (1963), "Monsignore" (1982), "Sitting Pretty" (1948); "La dame de Monsoreau" (1971) .... many wonderful films, some of them forgotten, some kept in private collections and never seen on the "big screens"... and that's a pity...
I have to watch this
What's the name of the movie??
@@lonsp.t3568Somewhere in time
Somewhere in time
The distant stare in his face Christopher had in his face before he died deserved an Oscar.
I thought the same thing. He looks so forlorn.
Indeed
So true. You could see him going back in time to be with her. He was a magnificent actor and person. Something else that has added to the sadness of the whole story is when his wife, Dana, died only 17 months after he did. I was completely shocked about her death. Now, I just like to think of how they met in the clouds, running to each other, whole and healthy again, like in the end of the movie, never to be parted again. Okay, I'm crying now.
Chilling
I saw this film and heard the music when it first came out in theaters. I wasn’t alone. I was with the love of my life.
The music in this film was absolutely breathtaking!
I'm 55, and I remember watching this beautiful movie when I was on my teens. It never goes old. To me is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking movies love story ever made.
