2D design and drawing assignments from studio 526
This week we are working on.developing a composition of three forms.
Process: think of ordinary table top items that are commonly used for your subject.
mterials: vine charcoal
compressed charcoal, blending stumps , gum arabic eraser
Step One:
Draw size relationships of the basic shapes and objects
Check for overlapping objects
Sketch shapes to forms
Sketch identifying lines of the objects
Check for eye level line and placement of the objects
Check for symetrics and a likeness of the form created or recreated
choose a Light source and direction of light
Step Two:
Begin adding value ( chiaroscuro) to the forms
Smooth / gradate vine charcoal
Add only some dark areas with compressed charcoal, Not too much please☺
fill back ground
add shadows and cast shadows
Step 3:
sprayfix with hairspray and let dry. don't forget to tape the corners to the board
Paper may curl if too mush spary fix is added.
Next use the 4 b and 2b charcaol pencils for finishing lines and fills.Such as edges ,
Hatching lines for fill areas or curving lines to define forms.

expectations:
Set up your work area , check for material needs and have the art out from the previous day.
Begin working on your art from where you left off.
If you are finished with your art get it checked off by the teacher.
Work on some ideas immediately , draw /sketch them out why they are still fresh in your mind.
Watch for instructions on the big screen , raise your hand and speak up if you have a question.
Give yourself enough time to put away your Artwork and clean up the area.
