Hi Bumbi, hope you are well. We really fancied eating some dal today. So I decided to make your Onion Dal. (recipe 103) I am so glad I did. It was very delicious 😋We really enjoyed it. Thank you ❤ xxx
Hey Bumbi, all 3 versions are looking awesome but my favourite is the sweet and sour dal. I too make it similarly but I also add peas to the dal. It enhances the taste of the dal. Have a lovely weekend my friend 🌸
Tried the onion dal today, curious to know how this dal variety could taste nice without mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves. But it did turn out simply nice, with the fried onions giving it a nice vibe.
Which one amongst these 3 dals would you like to make first? Please comment below. My favorite is lemon dal. I find it very refreshing at any time of the year.
Very nice variation’s of Dal Bumbi! Loved them all..But my fav too is lemon dal.. 🤤Being a Konkani we too love Dal very much.. we too prepare very similar version of lemon dal..we call it ‘Dalitoy‘. Usually toor dal is pressure cooked along with turmeric powder n slit green chillies n 2 tsps of coconut oil.. then churn the dal add salt n bring it to boil….Then for seasoning heat some coconut oil add mustard seeds, lil jeera, broken red chillis, curry leaves n generous amount of hing powder.. .. add the seasoning to the boiled dal.. garnish with coriander leaves serve it along with lemon wedges n hot steamed rice! The combo of coconut oil n hing takes the simple dal to next level!! Tastes heavenly 😋it is usually served in temples in mangalore during festivals as the preparation is without onion n garlic .. Lots of love to u dear.. Happy Sunday!!🤗
The consistency of any dal depends totally on individual preference. Add less water if you like it to be thick or add more water if you like it to be soupy.
I couldn’t decide which one I want to cook first so I cooked all 3 at the same time
All of them are awesome 😍
My favourite one is the onion

Fresh peas or dried peas?
@@stephentindle1272 I usually use fresh peas but you can even use frozen ones. Just thaw them before adding to the dal
@@veenakhetawat4549 Thank you, I'll give that a go next time.
