    Well then. The only good mosquito is a mosquito that eats other mosquitoes haha.

      Nah some mosquitoes just don’t bite and none of the males do. They just drink nectar. Females only drink blood for extra nutrients for their eggs. Scientists are trying to manipulate that so they won’t crave blood anymore… so some are good but they could all be good

    the perfect mosquito, they eat other mosquito larvae when they are still a larvae and when they become adult they rely only on nectars making them pollinators

      Pay attention to their size. All human blood sucking mosquitoes have more or less similar size. "Good" mosquitoes however are noticeably bigger. Like these giants.

    What would happen if the mosquitos harmful to humans started dying out like crazy? On one end there's one less disease vector to worry about, on another it affects the food chain.

    • @alclay8689

      Barely tho. Good news is (as far as I know/been told) no animals rely on mosquitos as a primary food source. There'd barely be a dent.

    Sounds good but I’d be hesitant of introducing non native species as a way of controlling mosquitos. History has shown us how it’s backfired in ways we can’t predict

    Are these the same as crane flies? Im askinh because my family has always called crane flies mosquito eaters or giant mosquito eating mosquitos is this true or are they different?

    • @TragoudistrosMPH
      @TragoudistrosMPH 11 місяців тому +1

      Looked it in and no, they are a different set of species. Some larva eat aquatic bugs, and most adults don't eat at all but they do eat aphids.
      The land larva eat decomposing plants.

    This video is missing one of the most interesting features of the Elephant mosquitoes: the way they lay the eggs. They drop the eggs individually in the water like bombs while flying, and even more, the adult female species larvae's mother to be eaten have never seen before the adult predator, and as soon as they see the Elephant mosquito female, the victim species attack in flight the predator by instinct. Anyway, bombing the water with fertilized eggs always happens among an aerial combat. It is a video with such interesting mother nature wisdom feature in UA-cam.
