Exact snare I use and I really like this Roland model a lot! My tom’s are the same model, only 10’s.

I bought the TD 27 and the digital snare and you can get the rim shots !!!
You can set it to trigger so you get a reggae high ping sound almost, or as close to an acoustic drum as you can possibly get.
It made a world of difference for me !!!
I had and still have the TD 17kvx, but I just wasn't satisfied with the snare and it was driving me crazy.
    I'm pretty happy now.
If you can afford it, I'd go that route for sure !
Next, when I get the money I'll get the ride and hi hats but the Snare was the one that I'm super psyched I got !!!
Plus I'm sure the TD 6 is limited to what it can do on the 120 too as far as editing goes.
    Love the channel dude !!!
    :-)

I agree with side triggers when it comes to snares. I don't mind them on toms but for a snare I need it to be accurate since I hit that one the most.

I bought a whole td10 kit for 300 bucks came with 2 pd120s and 2 pd100s however once my own drum trigger kit is built I'm probably selling them off. It sounds like I'll beable to get my money back pluss some just selling individual components

Did you try this on the TD-8? You can get snare positional sensing using that pad/module combo. I use PD120 with TD12 and the positional sensing works really well.

Unfortunately I don't have the TD-8 anymore, but that's awesome!

@@demonicsweaters I've been going even more retro with my drums, recently I got a set of the old white triangle stype pads from 1987 and a DDR30 module from 1985 (first Roland electronic drum module ever). It's such an addiction . . .
Oh, I got a TD-10 as well, but I wasn't as impressed with that one as much as I was with the TD-7.

@@jonathanbott1144 That's awesome! I personally really like the TD-5. It's small, easy to use and sounds great! I'll have to check out the DDR30!

@@demonicsweaters I really like my TD-5 too, they are quite rare. Can do quite a lot with them and they trigger well.
