If the lakers wanted a six-year contract and wanted to secure Dan, the Lakers should have offered $80 million which would bring his annual salary to a little over $13 million. If I was the GM and knowing he's never coached in the NBA I would have offered him a four-year deal $50 million which would give Dan an annual salary of $12.5 million that way if it works out, they can give him a long-term extension with better pay and if it doesn't work it's out it's only four years.

Dan is a control freak. The guy who walks on the court and shoves his guard to get him going. The best pro job involves losing a lot of control, the LA job involves a too involved management and a crazy control freak player called Labron.

Funny hearing all the talking heads say they are not at all surprised that Hurley didn't go to the Lakers after they all said over and over for days that he was likely to go. They're all pathetic.
