I am so exited for epic universe, even with the limited thrill rides, this still looks to be one of the best theme parks in the world
I wish Universal as a whole had way more thrill rides for those who are just looking for that adrenaline rush. But I do agree that it does look to be one of the best theme parks in the world
I’m looking forward to Epic Universe’s Universal Classic Monsters Land! I can’t wait to work there as Christine Daae!
I don't see having to wait until 2025 as being a con. The more time they take to complete it, the better it will be done. Rushing it would give them less time to perfect it and more mistakes would possibly be made.
I think that theming and atmosphere are more important to longevity than just thrill rides. A story helps to root people emotionally to a park, something which the OG imagineers understood perfectly. Rollercoasters are always being trumped. Pirates of the Caribbean will last forever.
As amazing as the park looks to be on day one, I can’t help but feel as if I’ll be slightly disappointed that I won’t have the chance to experience everything on my first visit. There’s a ton of room of expansion which parks such as Islands of Adventure have had time to fill, allowing those parks to offer complete experiences to first time visitors. I’m just glad Epic Universe will be opened mostly complete unlike parks such as Iowa’s Lost Island.
I really think the family friendly aspect of the park is great, Universal needs to cater for all guests and not just thrill seekers
I really think this will seal it for Universal. They need more family rides if they want ro compete with Disney. They can always build more thrill rides at Islands and Studios once they clear out the team buildings, but these next two parks should be family focused. I know it will probably be a long time before we see another park, but it will happen eventually. Heavily themed and animatronic filled thrill and family rides will only makw Universal a much bigger competitor, and wirh the shabby state Disney is in atm, Universal has a chance to be King. Thr only thing they could stans to do better is maintain ehat they have. This is what has always made Disnsy thr best, bit Disnsy isn't doing this anymore. Universal can do A LOT better with that kind of stuff than they have been. Disney, I won't even get into how disgraceful that company has become.
@@vikingshelm I'm almost the opposite LOL I wish that they would add more thrill rides. Matter-of-fact their thrill rides to me or not as thrilling as some like to say they are. But I definitely agree with you by adding more family-friendly rides they are going to be an even bigger competitor to Disney than they already are
Nope. Then go to disney if you got kids
@Alavachemusic
Who the heck are you to tell anyone where they should or shouldn't go? If all you want is thrill then go to Six Flags or Cedar Fair. How about that?
Smh
@@vikingshelmpeople also be dying at six flags
Before they get out of the oarkkkg lot
I have a friend who's dad works at Lockheed Martin and he said that his dad's been saying that Lockheed Martin may change locations because of how busy the area is gonna get with tourists so they may have to move for safety. I heard if that happens and IF Universal buys the property, it may become a parking garage or something else universal owned so who knows.
I've been wondering about that. Looking at the map, universal definitely wants that land.
Universal could get that land, build a massive parking garage for all parks and just have a tram/buses shuttle people from there. A true transit hub.
I want Lockheed to move to ease congestion traffic too. Plus i feel they deserve a bit more freedom to do what they do without limitations.
Volcano Bay has a bus ride to get to it... Epic Universe will have a somewhat longer bus ride for some guests as well. Really not a big deal, especially considering the bus lanes coming to Kirkman.
The best pro is Epic Universe will make all parks improve, especially Disney, Disney will have a big hole once this park opens
Yes, Disney has dropped the ball recently and hopefully this will make disney up their game.
Yes, Disney has dropped the ball recently and hopefully this will make disney up their game.
bro I had a dream about epic universe opening last night lmao
Won't be true till 2025
@@graffiti.777 I'll be like 19/20 when Epic Universe opens(B-Day is on June).
They need to make it kid friendly to cash in on younger families, I think it will be a great mix of family and thrill rides. Remember they are trying to draw from Disney. The bus lanes between the parks will make going from one to the other an easy ride. You can always park at the parking garage and then bus to Epic if you want your vehicle in the garage. They are limited to the property they could find. A couple of miles is nothing with the way they run buses.
Another great vid...! I am really glad you mentioned the in park food. Food is one area where Disney really shines, and I hope you are right about the EU food being great. There are only a few places in IOA & Studios I actually call good places to grab a bite. I go out to CityWalk if I really want to eat. Lastly, I also agree that there should be another major water ride in the park (and maybe the Creature from the Black Lagoon ride will fill that void). I still feel the parking lot expansion will be a Waterpark. If not a waterpark, then another smaller on-site resort.
This is Disney right now
Disney:Alright let’s talk about new rides for Disney World you Joe
Joe:I don’t want a new ride I want a statue
Disney: That’s Perfect
Can't wait for this Park!🙌🏿👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🕺🤗💜
I think another con is gonna be the bloated wait times at all times, when Disney and Universal now and days, build rides with not enough compasity, these rides can easily get over 100 min wait (look at hagrids)
Mario World will be the absolute worst when it comes to this, I can easily see a +300 minute wait if the Mario kart ride vehicles only hold 4 people at a time.
I might be wrong but I think they hold 8 and dispatch 2 at a time.
Mario Kart is an advanced version of the ride system used for Men in Black and Cat in the Hat, it is estimated to have about the same hourly capacity. Average wait times in Hollywood and Japan have not been an issue.
@@Puff3rf1sh I still think the Florida Version will have Massive Overcrowding issues, besides the fact that not a whole lot of people ride Cat in the Hat or men in Black anymore, I have never seen Men in Black get above a hour and I have never seen Cat in The hat get above a 30 minute wait (As of the time writing this article, as a 2nd year passholder) I still feel like They will have to charge people separately for Mario world, simply because it will be at the highest compasity ever. If you think Harry Potter had a bad wait; you guys better be ready for epic universe.
i AGREE. needed water ride and another big coaster.
One thing is see which is both a pro and a con is that this will launch Universal into a new tier of resort. They’re going to be able to be a full week resort, and Epic Universe is probably going to be insanely popular. Good for Universal and for us, but could also be bad. What could be bad is that they are not going to be able to operate the same way, they will need to make some changes and those changes may not be welcome by everyone. If universal gets crazy busy they may need to do virtual queues on some rides or park reservations like Disney. I’m just saying they can’t stay the same forever, policies will change the bigger they get
Im not a fan of the lack of theill for epic either. It seems too, Magic Kingdom like. But they have expansion pads so hope it changes.
I think it they do a Lord of the Rings area it will help.
If you want intense thrills, go to Six Flags. Universal is about immersive theming catering to families, not teenage thrillseekers.
Sounds like you’re getting Universal mixed with Disney
My main con is the monsters coaster. From recent info it feels like a six flags ride.
Yeah... kinda get that. Especially when it was rumored for a time to be an extreme spinning coaster. Hopefully should be fun though
How are you defining it as a Six Flags ride? Six Flags coasters don't have show scenes; the Wolfman coaster supposedly will.
Universal has a private road connecting the main resort and Epic Universe. Epic Universe will be long walking distance from the convention center which is where much of the business will come from.
I don’t understand the whole parking situation. Like yes money saving. I would rather have them just build a parking garage right along with the park, instead of years later. The way they have the 2 garages at the main park are perfect.
Remember when Universal Studios Florida first opened, they had a flat parking lot too.
@@CFLCF yes, but they were not as popular back then. This park is going to start off with massive crowds.
Now that Florida has the best coasters I've not ridden with Mako, Velocicoaster and Iron Gwazi; I was gonna visit Florida this year for the 1st time but this makes me wonder if I ought to wait until 2025 and go somewhere else this year instead. Where do you think I ought to go for my next coaster trip THIS year?
Pennsylvania is one of the best states for roller coaster if you haven't been there already, same with California.
i feel like the location is the biggest con. when you stay at a premier resort one of the 2 main perks is that water taxi that takes you to the middle of all the action. i just hope the busses are more frequent than disney busses
I mean even now buses come to all the hotels every 15 minutes so I don’t think it should be an issue… at least I don’t hope so 😅
@@tswizzle110 thanks for the info I never went to volcano bay while there so I didn’t know
Ya
They should have a water ride that has something to do with the hobbit movie where dwarfs escape down the river.
I don’t get the lack of thrill rides con. The hub coaster is two thrill rides. The How to Train Your Dragon coast is similar to Hagrid’s. That right there is equal to IOA’s lineup.
That's partially true but I do think Hulk and VelociCoaster are fundamentally different rides while the two hub coasters will essentially be the same thing. Not to mention, I think Super Nintendo World and HHTYD area are specifically designed for a family audience while the only one I would say does that at IOA is Suess Landing.
So with no announced plans to add any substantial new attractions to USF or IOA ... How do we know that Epic won't steal guests from the existing Universal parks instead of WDW?
That will happen after Epic Universe. Besides, I think it's only fair that they place their attention on the new park for it's opening year. I think that alone would make people want to go to the resort more than just a single E-Ticket ride in one of the parks.
Even then, I would assume that there will be lots of people visiting Universal for the first time when the new park opens.
I think Epic is just universal trying to grab people that enjoy Disney parks like Epcot for its food and drinks magic Kingdom for its kids ambiance , Universal is just trying to bring whole family to its parks. That said, universal food is pretty mediocre compared to Disney hopefully theyll try to fix that in epic also universal fireworks shows are 0 compared to Disney they also need to get better in that.
I’m so excited for Epic Universe but very confused about the Harry Potter section because how would it connect with the rest of the Harry Potter world in the other two parks.
It's in "Paris" (although the ride itself takes place in London via Floo network) so its like a different "country"
A decade since Orlando's LAST amusment park? my city dosnt have any!! lol
Thank goodness they are at least building NEW things. Disney has given up and just retheming old rides.
As someone with really bad paranoia with more intense rides, I'm so glad epic universe is gonna be more tamer compared to islands of adventure
I do wish there was a major water ride tho, I love water rides so much
stop being a chicken
I don't think anything you mentioned as a con is really a con
they did not have any other land... they had to buy it far away
Based on you're satellite map there wasn't any other place to put the park.
I have to agree I was also disappointed to see that it was going to be and more toward families. I actually think Universal is too tame and needs way more thrill rides but at least now they will have three Parks which will add to the amount of thrill rides. And by being more family-friendly they can grow the way that they want
I'm amused that one of your criticisms is it being too family friendly, while one of mine is that it has too many bloody thrill rides 😆

I don't like the major coaster in the park, the reason, it's YET ANOTHER major launch coaster in a resort that doesn't have a SINGLE inverting coaster without a launch since Dragon Challenge got scrapped. It's also why I'm not a fan of Velocicoaster, that park NEEDS a traditional major thrill coaster with a lift hill, if Dragon Challenge was still around I wouldn't have any issues with Velocicoaster. Then there's Hagrid's, which was f**ed from the start when they scrapped Dragon Challenge, had Dragon Challenge never existed I wouldn't have anywhere near as big of an issue with the ride then wanting to burn it to the f**king ground (hyperbolic).
So pretty much all of my issues with what Universal has been doing to the Orlando resort stem from Dragon Challenge's removal, their removal left a void that they refuse to fill for some reason.
They're in a similar situation to BGW, launch coaster stagnation, I'd rather Darkcoaster be a powered coaster* than another launch coaster in a park that has installed so many launch coasters so recently. I'm at a point with the Universal Orlando Resort and Busch Gardens Williamsburg where if it's a launch coaster I don't get excited and consider it a waste, hopefully BGW doesn't f**k up 2024 by installing another launch coaster.
*I'm 100% serious, a powered coaster would have gotten me more excited than yet another multi-launch coaster in a park that's just filled with them at this point. Not only that none of their launch coasters I'm particularly fond of, Verbolten in particular is one of the worst coasters ever built in my eyes for how it wasted such amazing terrain with a glorified box coaster.
I enjoyed both Dragon Challenge coasters, but they were nothing compared to Montu, which is quite close by. Seaworld has a single launch coaster and has lots of lift hills, and it’s 10 min away. I think Universal does launch coasters better than anyone, and I love them. Just go somewhere else with your odd hate for the type of coasters they do well.
If you want coasters though, Universal isn't really going for that type of park.
Launch coasters take up less room and give same thrills plus you can vary the speeds. Velocicoaster is almost two coasters in one. Dragon Challenge was no longer a great ride once the dueling was removed - it was simply two very short coasters. Hagrids is not only better themed for the area, it has a decent amount of thrill for a family coaster - which Potter appeals too.
the first con is stupid. things take time. their pace is great for an entire theme park
