Nice to see that they get instructed on their heritage so soon into basic. In the Air Force, we got it towards the end of training and it was almost an afterthought.
+Factory Working Orphan Things have changed in the Air Force. Learning the heritage and history is about all we do in basic now. Run and "physical training" in the AM then class all day.
this is strangely inspirational. I look forward to going to boot, and am preparing myself physically and mentally now. 'I am a Marine'. that's the mindset I have. I push myself now, and at every training event with the DEP system.
The obstacle course was my favorite. Loved running it in the fleet. I can remember I would be one of the few who ran it every time when my platoon would run it several times. Some of the other guys would lag behind and not do it every time.
I'm glad I'm an American. Seeing Marine's in the process of being made is a gift. I thank who made these video's. And await the day I get the chance to attempt the same.
I was in platoon 1070 graduated on september 17th 1975, I went to sleep everynight to the last plane coming in. Hearing the planes took me back. I may have had a slightly different boot, but we are all marines that go through. Semper FI
I remember those days, trying to keep myself awake, then the drill instructors takes you out into the sandbox and smokecheck you during the 10minute break.
I completely agree with you, but I think its healthy that we are this competitive with each other because its a good source of motivation. The only problem is that some takes it a bit too far.
Strange. I was in SD often for business and with each departure I looked down to the SD MC Boot camp and often saw the recruits doing their training. Later I met a former marine who was in SD and he told me that the starting planes were something special because they always made him aware that there are people who just could leave the city by boarding a flight.
Antonio, Thanks for the insight, I was confused and I do respect ALL Marines even though I am in the US Army! You are the elite and I am proud to say that I serve beside you in this fight!! Trev
The mortality rate is higher for the Marine Corps, and being less agile and more costly, it's something that should definitely be dealt with. However, this doesn't mean it needs to be disbanded or abolished. It could be improved or cut - which is what is being planned. The Marine Corps is still the Department of the Navy. If it should be disbanded, it is the responsibility of the Navy to take the necessary steps to do so. I don't care about the last word, I'm not immature. You can have it.
On July 15th, 2006, Marines of the 24th MEU were training in the middle of the Jordanian desert. More than a hundred miles south, fighting erupted between Israeli and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, resulting in the closing of the Beirut airport and leaving thousands of American citizens stranded. Showing the flexible nature of an expeditionary force in readiness, the 24th MEU quickly changed course,. Within days was able to facilitate the successful evacuation of some 13,000 Americans to safety.
Senior Drill Instructor Sgt Onello and Drill Instructor Sgt Ammeter, both in gold pt gear! segment 1:22-1:24 never will forget my instructors! Was surprised to see them in this though I wasn't in boot camp until Jan of 2012 So this was the cycle before us I guess

That Sargent likely tells the same story like an introduction story every time a new group of people show up for the introduction class at any Primerica meeting.
After the attack on our nation on 11 September 2001, the entire American military focused its might on defeating Al-Qaeda. Two months later, Marines were the first major ground forces in Afghanistan. On 25 November 2001, AH-1W attack helicopters and CH-53E Super Stallions loaded with combat-ready Marines of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit launched the longest amphibious heliborne assault in history.
During a peacekeeping mission over Bosnia, Air Force pilot Captain Scott O'Grady was shot down in enemy territory. Chosen to lead the rescue was the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 24th MEU was the most qualified and most ready to conduct the daylight TRAP (Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel) mission. With the rapid deployment capabilities and extensive training all Marine Expeditionary Units possess, Marines from the 24th MEU launched from the Adriatic Sea.
just regular plastic glasses. it was a move for the military to save money. the amount of plastic used to make one pair of BCG can make 6 regular pairs
.... the first to fight is usually used because for planned assaults on beaches or anything amphibious they typically send in marines first to secure the beach head or what ever they are fighting on for the army to come in and push inland.
HOLY FREAKING CRAP BATMAN!! THIS IS THE SAME SERGEANT WHO GAVE US OUR CLASSES!!! He is freaking awesome!!! but don't fall asleep when he gives a class hahahahahah.. oh man! this is awesome!
Sgt Jolly, Ssgt now. He was funny as shit, I remember him turning an hour uniform class into like a two hour rant about random shit because we told him he didn't want to go drill.
*men. I may not know much about the Marines, and I have about 5 years until I can even go, being 14, but I know that whenever anyone talks about Soldiers, they ALWAYS refer to the marines.
Well, thank you. My uncle and three cousins were in the USMC. I don't favor any branches, my Father was a Colonel, I have two cousins in the Navy, one has served in the Army, and I have many friends who are vets from all the branches, be it the USAF, USCG, USMC, USA, USN, as well as police officers, firemen, etc. Everyone does their service to this country.
Because Marines take special pride in their enlisted...once they are Marines, 'Sir' or 'Ma'am' is for the officers, and the DI's letcha' know that this is how it is...
They have E4 drill instructors? Damn. Wish we did it like that too. Now that I think about it, a younger drill instructor might have advantages than an older higher ranking one.
[After the attack on our nation on 11 September 2001] The Army and the Airforce combined with the Northern Alliance were the first to fight against the Taliban.
Climbing onto bars, hopping over logs and punching things. Oddly reminiscent of elementary school recess. This stuff looks a lot harder once your age hits double-digits.
LOL the army waiting, exactly. Now don't get me wrong I have mad respect for all branches but you just made a good example of how the army has double the man power but they once again just sit back and watch. Thanks for pointing that one out.
BEST PART ABOUT MCMAP was...... BENDS AND THRUSTS!!! oh good.. little jimmy over there scratched his face... FACE HALF RIGHT!!! BENDS AND THRUSTS!!! lol.... I tell you what.. by the end of all of our MCMAP sessions.. I was very good at doing Bends and thrusts
1:30 holy Shit its SSGT Fuentes hahahah i swear to god he sounded like kermit the frog when we were in class and hed be like " ARE WE LOSING ARE VOLUMN??? STAND UP NOWW!!! lololol
I never claimed there was a tie. You're drawing implications I never implied. The Army and Marine Corps are indeed different (but similar). The Marine Corps does not exist for the same purpose the Army does, nor do the two branches work in total emulation of each other. There are some obvious differences. The Army is more than twice the size of the Marine Corps, and yet the Marine Corps does numerous operations whether alone or in join operations. The USMC does it's service.
In Marine Corps Boot Camp, you are not a Marine until you graduate bootcamp. Until then, you are just a slimy civilian in transition. You have to use the word "sir" until you've earned the right. Once you graduate, you no longer call NCO's sir, a jesture only used when addressing officers.
I went through a search and rescue academy in my state that is similar to the marine corps boot camp, and sometimes when we fucked up our drill instructor would make us hold shit like binders with our finger tips, and extend our arms parallel to the deck. That shit was so uncomfortable lol
"do the SEALs really get all their recruits from one branch in order to be the best?" Yes every single SEAL is a United States Salior. The only way to get to BUD/S is from the fleet, Great Lakes(Navy boot camp), OCS, or the Naval Academy. I have heard of a few FORMER USMC guys in the teams but it's rare and they're sailors now
I was trying to say I had respect for both but then he kept bashing on the USMC some more so I went back to defense but your making a good point and I am done. Sick of this shit any ways
well, I wouldn't go that far. As a future Marine myself, I respect all US branches of service. However, I want to be a part of an Elite group. 'The Few, The Proud, The Marines.'
The USMC can only be as rapid as the USN allows. At least, that was the case for WWII. No, the Marine Corps hasn't been the first to fight in most of the wars, only a few. However, they have served in more conflicts than the Army has. The whole of the WWII casualties sustained by the US was 416,800 military deaths. The whole of the WWII casualties sustained by the Japanese Empire was2,120,000 military deaths. Do the math. They were not needless.
Nice to see that they get instructed on their heritage so soon into basic. In the Air Force, we got it towards the end of training and it was almost an afterthought.
Heritage? Americans have no heritage! lol
I'm only teasing.
+Factory Working Orphan Things have changed in the Air Force. Learning the heritage and history is about all we do in basic now. Run and "physical training" in the AM then class all day.
I am a Poolee and I have to turn in essays regarding facts of the Corp.
This happens all throughout boot camp except not so much in Pendleton
This was my bootcamp!!! I never even noticed cameras
lol
Ronny you never noticed! my fucking BCGs show at 0:19 xD , its Travis B
this is strangely inspirational. I look forward to going to boot, and am preparing myself physically and mentally now. 'I am a Marine'. that's the mindset I have. I push myself now, and at every training event with the DEP system.

It’s fun until you gotta wear a flak w/ plates and Kevlar while running it 😅

Nunca en mi vida había visto estos videos, hasta hace 2 meses que mi hijo se fue a boot camp. Ahora ya a 21 días de su graduación , primero Dios 🙏

SGT Jolly was easily the most motivating instructor ever.
The sound of jets taking off from the nearby airport really took me back

Oh god how I did not miss those damn planes taking off
Me either. Made going to sleep a little difficult
Our military kicks ass, regardless of branch. I respect all branches
I’m laughing so hard man I see me in these videos and it’s pure comedy !! I was tired but in my head I was always hype
I hate that class and the Pit. But thats SSgt Jolly and he was the funniest instructor we had
Yep same here I respect all branches of the military but the marines are for me can't wait to join next year :D

o-o..... Oh how I hated the first week... well I hated the first two phases haha Bravo Co. :D
This must be the Disney version of bootcamp because I remember recruits being tossed around, blood, tears and ZERO, EYEBALLS!

I was Golf Co. Platoon 2093 summer of 2003. Worst 13 weeks of my life but I never knew how valuable that experience would be later in life.
the French Legion looks crazy to be honest, if i had a felony or a troubled past i would definitely consider leaving for the Legion
i love the froggy voiced instructors so fucking funny
