    Nobody will ever be more invested in the success and graduation of the recruits than his drill instructor. The drill instructors are tough, but fair, and are men who will not let a recruit down. If you WANT to be a Marine, and you give it all you've got, your drill instructors will be the ones who push you over the top to make sure you pin on the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, with pride.

  • @Fiendin
    @Fiendin 12 років тому +10

    If you are unable to pass the IST, the recruiter isn't supposed to send you, but they still do sometimes. When I was there in '97, there was a special platoon for IST fails called PCP (physical conditioning platoon) where you will stay and work out almost every day until you can pass the IST. Believe me, between PCP and the training platoon, they will get you there. The physical part will be worked out both though exercise and special nutritional meals (I had those and they were still good).

AND THAT THE EVIL STEP BROTHERS ARE NOW OUR ACTUAL BROTHERS IN ARMS!!!! and from here foreword we've earned the right to be called MARINES!!!!!!!! and we will never again be called STEP BROTHERS! Btw, the British sucked ass at amphibious landings (Gallipoli), until the United States perfected it with the introduction of the amphibious landing craft, tandem air/fire support, and combat logistics. This was used by the US Marines initially in the pacific, and the strategy culminated with the "greatest sea borne invasion" in Normandy, where Naval and Marine advisers coordinated the assault.

    Actually they were the best in the whole company: 3rd Battalion Mike Company Platoon 3265 We got Honor's Platoon and my Drill-hat got promoted to Senior. I don't know what your green-hats did, but mine made sure we got our PT in for the decade.

    Not sure where you went through, but we were screamed at, intimidated, and everything else right from the second the receiving DI stepped on the bus and "informed" us that we needed to get off his buss and on to the little yellow footprints. That was in '97. That started on day one for our Company. We were never quaterdecked or pitted, but we certainly knew we were in boot camp right from Receiving.

    @tuffguy0187 Series Drill Instructor is the Chief Drill Instructor. The Senior is the black belt of the platoon. The Chief is the Black Belt of the Series...yeah i was thrown for a loop too.

    SSgt Jackson (now GySgt) was Lead Series Chief Drill Instructor and SSgt Arellano was my Senior Drill Instructor for the second half of the cycle. Plt 2154. I am convinced we were the most undisciplined platoon in Golf Company.

    It is likely an ID holder. When I went to boot camp in 2004 we did not have them, but they were for sale at the base store. Seems like they just got tired of recruits losing stuff so they started issuing those to them.
