This guy is different class.I remember my old man telling me how good Alan was for Dundee and Spurs in the 60s..Im 45,so just missed out on seeing him on the telly, but thanks to the internet,i can see just how good he was.Well done Alan,a well deserved accolade,in the hall of fame.
The greatest header of the ball I ever saw and I watched him down the Lane from 1968 until he he left Spurs. Must have seen him play nearly a hundred times and he was loved by all the Spurs fans.
I grew up next door to Alan's parents, he is a fantastic guy & I'm so proud to say I know him!!! Had many a game of football on teh back grass with Alan, memories that i will always treasure forever. so glad he gets the recognition he deserves. God bless Gillie - footballs best!!
Reading the book. Alan is still idolised by Dundee fans of my generation, and when I worked down South my boss was a Spurs fan and he really was loved by the Spurs fans as the King of White Hart Lane. Everybody who played with him said he had a great first touch. !! Saw his young lad Ian play and he was a better player than was given credit for. Great in air. Hope he does well with the Carnoustie. God bless Alan Gilzean and all of his family and hope they can visit Dens more often!!
Legend......Alan Gillie......Come on you SPURS That's why.......... I'm here today......... TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR.....the greatest Football Club in the World. Thanks for the memories Alan.

used to watch him down the lane one of the greatest patnerships in football ever gilly and greavsie--- my dad could only make the reserve team but we used to get in cheaply lolll
Not a Spurs fan but I was lucky enough to see Gillie and Greavsie together many times at WHL, the G-Men, Kings of WHL, call him and them what you will I never saw a better pairing, totally unselfish and a brilliant header of the ball, the shiny head helped? The demolition of MU at WHL in 65? 5-1, A display like I've never seen before the G-Men destroyed them, Law, Best, Charlton and all! Greavsie, I hate your politics but with Gillie you were never better! Alan, glad to have seen you play!
4 goals against Rangers at Ibrox...winning goal at Hampden against England in '64....Why is there not a statue in Coupar Angus? Alan Gilzean, Dundeee F.C.

Best header of the ball ever, agile on his feet, speedy and great positional intelligence, how we could do now at NWHL, with his class. Peerless.
A great man.
Best player that ever wore the dark blue jersey
