I tuned in to BBC to watch my team play Chelsea in the FA Cup. After 10 mins listening to an hysterical female commentator talking absolute drivel, I watched the rest of the game on mute!
Billy Jean King achieved just about everything in ensuring equality for women in tennis including equal pay but I never understood why after all these years the right of women to play 5 sets like the men at the grand slams hasn't been achieved. She never appeared to put much effort into breaking down that barrier for some reason.
They are happy to play 5 sets but if you do your research it fucks up the tennis calendar. It's only the Grand Slams that play 5 sets anyway. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story eh.

When it comes to pundits if you're a male ex professional who only played in the lower leagues you don't have a chance of getting on the panel. Why? Because obviously they have no experience of playing at the highest level.... However the TV networks now fill the panels with women who have played a completely different game in terms of skill, talent, fitness and physical intensity usually in front of less than a 1000 spectators. Its a joke!
Absolutely agree with this. I played Saturday football until I was 35, a decent level, however there's a very good reason the tv people wouldn't get me in on their panel, as I didn't play top flight footie... World has gone crazy now unfortunately!
They have a great feature on Amazon Prime when they show football, you have the option to listen to the full sound including commentary, and the option to have only the stadium sounds without commentary, a real godsend.

As a woman myself I'm all for women playing the game. However I have to agree with Alan and others that women commentators really grate on your nerves. I simply cannot stand their screeching as the female voice is not suitable for this role. There are some things in life that are just not equal and this is one of those situations.

As a woman myself I'm all for women playing the game. However I have to agree with Alan and others that women commentators really grate on your nerves. I simply cannot stand their screeching as the female voice is not suitable for this role. There are some things in life that are just not equal and this is one of those situations.
i never minded having decent female presenters but we are now just being force fed them at every opportunity to tick boxes and its ruining the game i love. But as soon as you have an opinion on it you get accused of all sorts. If that makes me a dinosaur then so be it
Post match i just want to hear ex or current professional players (male) breakdown the game and give their analysis, is that too much to ask, not for around £100 month subscription it isnt.
i actually cancelled my subscription and now listen to alot of coverage on the radio then catch the highlights on youtube later.

Here is a really crazy idea, but how about men commentating on mens football and women commentating on womens football far out idea I know
I totally agree, some of these women commentators are absolutely annoying to watch spitting out absolute dribble under the pretence of being an expert on the game and with that BS belief try to dominate the show. Women should comment on women's games and vice versa.
