Hello from Northern Ireland! This is Pat Jennings great grandson Jonathan Jennings and I am honored to be the grandson of this G.O.A.T just wanted to see what my grandpa could really do when he played football.
Wow I am very amazed how your grandpa it must be an honor to be his grandpa
Jonathan I saw your grandfather play many many times I can assure you he was without any doubt the best Goalkeeper in the world and nobody no matter how long the game will ever be played will ever come close to his style skill and greatness
I met Pat Jennings at highbury just after his testimonial and I shook hands with him and my hand just disappeared in his
THE GREATEST GOALKEEPER OF ALL TIME WHAT WOULD HE FETCH IN THE TRANSFER MARKET TODAY. A WONDERFUL ROLE MODEL FOR ALL PLAYERS IN MODESTY. HUMILITY HARD WORK A TRUE LEGEND OF THEE GAME
My grandad met him lol
@@alexonyt3250pat Jennings is my great grandfather
The best keeper I have ever seen!he single handedly stopped Brazil running riot,in the 86 world Cup!
Perfectionist Pat. He took his profession very seriously. He certainly was one of the world's best goalkeepers.
Best goalkeeper ever and a very humble man. No other goalkeeper comes close.
He’s my nans cousin
Let's calm down. There is definitely a debate but I understand your opinion. Pat Jennings was a Beast among men
Peter Shilton and Zino Doff were better
@@amck72 Dino Zoff war damals wirklich ein Guter und auch sehr lange sehr gut. Bei Peter Shilton bin ich nicht so sicher dass er Pat Jennings das Wasser reichen kann..Ist meine persönliche Meinung.
@@steffenraeder2650 English please.
Greatest keeper I've ever seen & a proper gentleman.
I remember reading a football magazine. I can't remember if it was Shoot and Gordon Banks made an assessment on British Goalkeepers, he said Clemence is good, Shilton is better but Jennings is the best he has ever seen. If Gordon Banks can say that, then he can't be wrong. Pat Jennings a truly great goalkeeper.
It was definitely in Shoot. Yeah, the quote was something like, "Shilton the better, Jennings the best."
I always thought Ray Clemmence was better than Shilton....Shilton couldnt jump....Look at Germany deflected up shot off Paul Parker, Shilton shat himself and couldnt jump. Look at the Shilton jump against the gnome Maradona in 86. And, It always bugged me that Steve Hodge got Maradona's shirt that day....the reason being is that it is Hodge that put the ball onto Maradona's head...sorry, hand *cough*...and afterwards.............Here you go Steve, Gracias....my shirt be worth something one day.....
Great Hands, positioning, strength, agility, poise, control, voice and grace.
And that hair…
And those sideburns…
One of the all-time greatest and probably MOST underrated goalkeepers ever.
that one handed catch at 1:40!
Yes, absolutely great!
0:20 Total rocket from Bobby Charlton - look at his body shape as he hits it.
I remember when back in Easter 1967,and West Bromwich Albion were playing at home vs Tottenham Hotspur, Albion were in desperate need of the points, and Pat Jennings gave in my opinion the best goalkeeping display of all time, he saved at least 4 or 5 certain goals, but still came out losing 4-3.!
The amazing unforgettable Pat Jennings goalkeeper extraordinaire-so glad I lived through this golden era of football.
Pat could catch balls that other goalkeepers wouldn't even reach :).
Mr. Pat Jennings... you are THE GOAL KEEPER I MOST WANTED TO EMULATE. IRISH LEGEND. I LOVE YOU MY FRIEND. YOU ROCK. YOU ARE ONE OF THE GOATS. PEACE AND LOVE FROM LIMA, PERÚ.
1:40, Sorry but that is the greatest catch/gather I have ever seen haha, amazing!!!
What a Keeper he truly was!!! The save at 3:29 vs Scotland............Magnificent!
I know! The ball stuck like glue to his right hand!!!
My all-time goalkeeping hero and a lovely, humble guy. Many thanks for the video, fabulous saves and fond memories.
I think Pat was to goalkeeping what Sinatra was to singing and Richard McNeil to painting. All one offs.
If goalkeepers could be likened to painters, who would be the Rembrandt, who the Caravaggio, who the Van Gogh and who the Jackson Pollock?
George Best once said, you don't need a big foot to shoot, but you need a big pair of hands to save, and Pat has them.
ONE OF MY IDOLS AND HEROES
I remember Jennings would catch and hold shots other keepers could just parry. I was amazed.
1.41 and 1.54 unreal hold
Great saves, good music!
Absolutely no doubt about it, he was a great Goalkeeper. I was born in 1970 and was football mad at 4 yrs old, Rememeber ?? the days when keepers caught the ball? Had to be something special to beat Jennings, and the Brazil right back in the world cup came up with one in Espania '82...And ending in that damn Paolo Rossi....now im just burbling old memories......
All those over the top cross-bar saves where just AMAZING!!!!!!!! Thanks for the upload.
You're welcome
I'm thinking there is a sarcasm in that post.
A phenomenal athlete, one of the best of all time
My favourite keeper by far and I've been playing and watching this game for 50 plus years. Someone at Spurs thought he was finished yet Arsenal gave him nearly 10 years more at the top. Who was the Spurs idiot who made that clanger?
Ah come now. We had Barry Daines. 🤣
@@markwells7130 😅🤣
@@markwells7130 Indeed. 😅🤣
One of the best goalkeeper ever.
Great video of one of my all time sporting hero's. Even when he went to Arsenal lol
Lo vi jugar contra España 1986 y al final me dio su autografo, nunca lo olvidare.
The most underrated keeper in my fifty-five years of watching football.
Celtic fan, Must be the best ever goal keeper in British football history, any young goalkeeper should be studying this legend of the game.
A phenomenal talent!
Goalkeeping perfection.
What a keeper
A master of his position
Ireland's answer to Gordon banks....quiet guy ..just got on with it
One of the best goalkeeper in 80s
Better than Banks imho
@finley jones Oh gosh I thought he's the same age with Peter Shilton before
.
I saw Gordon Banks make the save of the century.
Very modest and quiet man, preferring to do all his "talking" on the pitch and wow, what a talker he was out there!
Nice work! Impressive tribute to one of the greatest british goalkeepers of all time.
Thank you
Barbosa Fútbol Videos I’d say take out British because I believe he’s one of the best _*ever*_, not just British, but then I’d sound like a Republican
Note: Republican as in them geezers who want a united ireland
" I'm firstly, lastly and always Irish , I hope our country is reunited in my lifetime, I'll never be British".... Pat Jennings.
Irish!😡
I remember as a kid watching Pat
What a great goalkeeper he was
Alan all time great
An all time great
Absolutely the best GK ever.
Great keeper,great man,great hair.
Pat Jennings created an aura that intimidated strikers and he was very agile but he was very good at saving with his legs that was part of his armoury.
Big hair = Big aura -- if you can project it.. if you have it.. Neville Southall had that too to some extent..
Many talks about buffon, de gea, terstegen and told they're the best. Dont get wrong, i like them all, especially buffon.
But hey.., look at this guy. He's just, perfect!!
Those 2 other frauds should never be uttered in the same sentence as buffon
One of the world's very best keepers with a handsome face and great body. Beautifully proportioned.
wtf
lol...yes a very erm female perspective.
1) You are perfect my man, your videos is state of art

2) I do what I can
3) As soon as possible there will be a way
Καλησπέρα
G.O.A.T.
Certainly the best ever from the isles, says this Celtic fan. 🍀
Most underrated keeper all time
No gloves, big old heavy ball, muddy goal mouth and yet this man was gracefully athletic, hands on him like two shovels, if you ever get to shake his hand your going to feel like a wee boy, he had it all as a keeper, every generational cycle of players in football has stand outs but this guy stands on his own across all generations, Big Pat was my hero growing up in Belfast, someone always had to get between the jumpers in the street and i always volunteered, hes such a gentleman, time for everyone, if ever there was someone to look up to Pat is the man. Salt of the earth.
Watching this in 2023, Jennings is catching shots, sometimes one handed, when most goalies these days just flap them away for a corner. Superb, surely one of the best goalkeepers ever.
modern day goal keepers look and learn,Super Pat.
My favourite player of all time and for me the best goalkeeper in the world!
Imagine pat Jennings Today.
Never see him play but my oldest brothers talk very well about him and from this vídeo i know why 😉
Once again, another great vídeo.
Fantastic goalie. I was on the hillsborough kop throwing snowballs at him when I was a kid! SWFC v Arsenal in the FA cup.
The catch at 1:41 might be the greatest catch I've ever seen!
As an ex goal keeper...i love ur work
Thanks
Ok ,Gordon Banks with his save from Pele was indeed a great save, but I think most people have overlooked the immense talent of goalkeepers such as Pat Jennings on video here, some of these saves were legendary to say the least ,and he was pulling these out of the hat week in week out as required not just as a one off that was over hyped by the likes of Kenneth Wolstenholme etc.
There were a lot of great goalkeepers in that era, Banks Shilton, Jennings, Clemence, Springett, Bonetti, to name a few. I saw Banks play at Leicester every home game and he was making brilliant saves just as much as you see Jennings in this video so the Pele save was not just a one off. Banks set the benchmark. That's why he's legend.
Jennings and George Best. Two men who should have been born in England :)
Why ? Is because your English? I'm from Northern Ireland I'm proud to be from the same country as them
So should Pele
Beast of a keeper
Up there with the best!
Unbelievable!
Best goalkeeper ever
Great Keeper!
This Legendary Keeper is the greatest of all time.
He was on par with Peter Shilton, but I found he was quicker coming out from his post to clear the danger, even outside the box.
Shilton was massively overated
Brilliant goalkeeper 👍🏻
clemence, jennings, bonetti n groberlaar....absolute masters of the 1 handed save...................groberlaar n bonetti masters of the 2 handed catch saves
An awesome goalkeeper
Phenomenal...
Big Pat! The Gentle Giant Goalie… best there ever was!
The Legendary Keeper is simply the greatest of all time.
That fuck up and recovery is football at its most spectacular and why it's just the best sport known to humanity.
Everyone talks about Gordon Banks...but this guy seemed to be years ahead of his time and more agile. Great keeper and person.
Grandissimo Pat.. Uno dei più grandi... Metti Giovanni Galli
He could grab certain shots that most keepers would tip over the bar hands like shovels.
Mil gracias Barbosa !!! Saludos Desde PERU!!!!
Tottenham got a real gem with this keeper
Wow !
2:28 UNREAL SAVE🤯
Top, top keeper. Remember him well. If had been English, probably would have had more recognition
I think if he had of played with Liverpool in the 1970s he would have been called the greatest keeper of all time.
Sei un grande. Te lo scrissi un mesetto addietro se, potessi inserire un video di Jennings!! Grazie Barbosa!!
Grazie a te Salvatore!
Gran bel portiere!
would love to have heard commentary with some of these... would like to see 'keepers today do what he did without gloves!
Today's keepers be like "he catches the ball - wtf???".
Half those saves modern keepers wouldn't even try. The camera doesn't lie keepers of that era were miles better than todays
He, Thomas N'Kono, Michel Preud'homme and Bruce Grobbelaar loved to catch the ball. The latter even caught the ball from half volley near the box.
Agreed. Pat could catch a corner or cross one handed without the use of the £150 gloves goalkeepers have
Spurs were very lucky to have him...
Hello brother your football channel are best..

I have Googled day long for classic Footballers videos but I ain't getting..!!

The best footballer and best goalkeeper the United Kingdom ever produced were from Northern Ireland.
