I like going hybrid with the insulation; spray foam and Rock Wool has been what I would hope to use. Preventing condensation with exterior insulation is so key to me in preparing to launch my project. I have also been concerned about thicker sheathing, the Zip-R requiring stronger fasteners due to the added length of cantilever, which I would like to know the solution to. I love the idea of the Comfortboard 80 outside of the Zip system. Maybe test it out between our shop and living area? 😉 I plan on using Rockwool in our walls in our living space.
I like Rockwool for the quality product it is especially for sound proofing, however in our current build application on the interiors it’s not a solution 100% like the spray foam is for us. I would love to incorporate the exterior insulation on the outside of our zip wall system at some point which is what we are showcasing here.

I like the zip R option too. Up to a certain point you don’t have worry about that I think you use the same type of fasteners put to R6 maybe.

I would recommend this to everyone over spray foam insulation!
In some applications yes it would work. It doesn’t cover all of the areas of need for us however currently unfortunately.
