    Great Video! I’m a little confused on one of the comments you made can you or can’t you use spray foam in a steel barndo?

    • @homesteadingbarndo
      @homesteadingbarndo  Рік тому +1

      You definitely can but you need to do it before you start framing the house inside.

    Can you compound on the condensation/moisture issues that you are having? Do you have insulation between all of the exterior metal and the main frame of the building?
    If you have insulation between, did you have any issue of the exterior panels deforming any when screwing them to the frame? I noticed Great Western mentioned it a few times in some of his videos and he talked about not over tightening the screws. That has me worried a bit.

    • @homesteadingbarndo
      @homesteadingbarndo  2 роки тому

      We have fiberglass insulation in between the walls and the perlons and it makes it tough to install the panels because you have to compress it.
      The insulation comes in 6 foot wide rolls and is attached by double stick tape to hold it in place. The thing you have to do is seal all the overlapping seams because it acts as the vapor barrier so any way that warm air can penetrate and touch the cold steel you'll get condensation.
      As for overtightened screws you can see when they are tightened enough because it compressed the rubber grommet properly, if you overtightened it the grommet will break off and not be water proof.
      Hope that makes sense

    • @homesteadingbarndo
      @homesteadingbarndo  2 роки тому

      We did a mix of paying as we go and getting some private lending. There are a bunch of good lending options though including USDA loans which I know a lot of people have used. Another option is a local credit union too, apparently, they're easier to work with.
