      I was gonna say the same thing. I've posted on his channel a few times wanting to see stuff in particular to barndo style builds. I would love to see a full walk through on the shell....so from concrete, to shell. I would love to come to a project site just to see it in person! I love the aspects of Matts builds...but love the looks of a Barndo

    I am really happy to see this video!!! The two of you are my favorite UA-cam channels and I had been thinking of suggesting that you two should meet.
    I would really like to see a series of crossover videos where he comes to a barndominium project and the two of you discuss the pros and cons of this and that while looking at the specifics of that project. Then you would go to one of his projects and do the same thing. The focus would be to compare and contrast barndominiums and custom homes.
    At any rate, I hope you figure out some reason and way to make some more videos like this one with the both of you in it.

      I would also love to see the comparison. I’m trying to get away from using spray foam and wonder if Rockwool would work instead. Maybe Rockwool and Zip system. I’m just wondering how that would need to be done on a steel building. So the Zip system would be your vapor barrier right?

    This is a lot owner from Canyon Lake Texas, I want to know how much would a typical 2000 square feet home cost with a 2 and a half bathroom and a 3-4 bedroom cost? Let me know thank you.

    • @TexasBarndominiums
      @TexasBarndominiums  5 років тому

      Depends on options. Our homes start at $125 per sq. ft. living area and porches start at $42 sq. ft. Shops start at $50 sq. ft.
      The sky is the limit from there.
      If you are in Canyon Lake area, and you are not on flat land, it will cost more if you have severe slope on your ground.

    Here in Montreal, we have the reverse, more months heating than cooling. It's code on new construction to have air exchange systems, specifically because we build our homes so airtight with lots of insulation. Aren't you concerned about stale air?

      I've been following Matt for about 10-12 months. A viewer mentioned him when we started doing post tension so I looked him up. I liked what he was doing so I started following him. When I looked him up I realized he was following us on IG. I'm glad we finally got to meet in person.
      The idea of doing a video channel was born around 2015, but it took me about 3 years to finally do it. I started doing a personal youtube channel to learn the ropes, and when I finally felt ready, I jumped in and did it. I was not satisfied with the quality of my videos early on. Truth be told, I'm still not 100% satisfied with the quality of our videos, and I always find something to critique. I guess that's my nature. lol
      We have been doing small tweaks to our videos lately, most haven't noticed, but we do. We have been working on better color, composition, timing, and content. :)

      I’ve been following Matt for around 2 years, and you for almost a year I think. I took construction class in high school and wish I would’ve stayed in it. I think your video quality is good, I’d say keep the content interesting. You could maybe do a detailed series from site choice to prep to marking out the foundation forms, layout of piping before etc. all the way to final walk through with furniture (customers approval). I am detailed person and love seeing it all done exactly. Maybe get some of your guys in there a little bit too?
      Anyway, great job! I would love doing what you do in my area of Texas. Do you have any franchise thoughts? 😁
