I think the best thing we all can take from you is to slow down and take the time to enjoy life and the simple things that matter and the natural beauty of things
Awesome video Mike, thanks so much for posting! So glad to see all of those visitors heading out of there & leaving you folks to your peace & quiet................. :)
I love your videos! I cannot express the sheer enjoyment that i feel when I watch your channel. Thank you for making every day a good one and keep up the amazing work.
I live in far NE Ga, near the SC border, start of the Ap Trail. We were in direct line. Was same..nonstop traffic, all hotel/motel's booked, town selling out of everything. Did the same..pulled my lawn lounger into the yard (not really a yard, live in a 800 sq ft cabin in the woods)...and just sat in the silence, even the birds went silent, from beginning, far past the end. Saw the Diamond burst, have not cried that hard in quite awhile. God is wonderful...think most people missed that all bunched up at Brasstown Bald like ants. It was breath taking.
I like the starting comment of where you don't have to look both ways when crossing the street. Our small town was once that way, I used to tell people that our town was so small, that all 4 city limit signs were on the same post
Thank you for this great video of the eclipse Mike. We are down in Northern California out of the path of totality, so this was fun to watch. Pearl is the sweetest little girl! :-) Take care, Gabby
Thanks for sharing Mike. It is an awesome sight. We were about 75% here. Still impressive and beautiful but not the wonder of totality. Glad to hear Pearl enjoyed it too. Bill
Great video what a site that you had wonderful country would love to live there thanks for the video sir and God bless you and pearl and family look forward to the next one Brian
Thank you, Brian! I really do enjoy the country and it was pretty neat that we just happened to be in the right place for the eclipse. I only had to go on the hill behind the house to get a good view. God bless you and your family, too!
Hi Mike, great video (as always) I knew Pearl communicated with you some how. Keep your video;s coming. I always look forward to them. Kind regards from Shayne......Australia.
Wow you guys had a great view! I'm sorry for all those folks invading your small peaceful town. That was a great video, seems like pearl agreed with you getting up to the high country away from all those crazy folk. I'm glad you guys got a good show from Mother Nature. We only got 88% coverage in my neck of the woods. I'll talk to you soon my friend.
It really was an interesting thing to see right from behind my house. The folks that came were really nice and quiet. It's the most people this county has ever seen all at once!
Nice one Mike. I did the same thing and carved during the eclipse myself. :) Here it was only about 80 percent eclipsed so it wasn't quite as spectacular. It was pretty eerie though for about twenty minutes - everything looked pretty silvery and just plain odd. Looked like a nice place to enjoy the event.
Haha! That's great, Mark! It really was something to see. The whole country around me looked pretty weird for a while. Kinda like it was some other planet.
Wow, I can understand why people would come there anytime. I just can't understand why they would want to leave. The peaceful scenery is amazing there. 🕊
Hey Mike ! Your friend from ARKANSAS here !! Looks like You and Pearl and your wife had a pretty good Perch on the side of that hill !!! We here in Arkansas got to see about 65% not much to the comparison of you guys !!! Thanks Mike for your great videos ! Give Pearl a belly rub for me !!! 🐕
Man I can't say enough about your videos, so calming. Can you do an video introducing the production team aka the family.( you might already have I just have seen it yet) And really wish you had a PO box so we can send you fan mail.
I got the amazing experience to view the eclipse from the path of totality in Missouri and it was nowhere near as cool as it seems you had out there in Oregon!! It didn’t get nearly as dark out here where I am but it was still an amazing experience!! God bless
You got some great video . Here in Quebec we only got 58 percent . I agree with one of the other comments . That's some of the best footage . It didn't seem to bother Pearl to much lol . Thanks take care .
Wow Mike you are so blessed to be in Gods country. and see all his glory. how can people say there is no God. here in north Louisiana bearly see it going across the top. catch you later my friend
It really was a spectacular sight to see, Rodney! I wish you could have seen all of it in Louisiana. But I'm glad I took the videos of it to share. The Lord really does some amazing things and it does baffle me that some people don't believe in him. Take care, my friend!
Yup, THAT was an eclipse video I can get behind... Sound of sanding (life going on as if nothing was happening) in the background throughout. Thanks, maun! :-) It was pretty cool, like that. But, I wouldn't risk life & limb in that kind of traffic, to get there, for those few minutes... Not in a "hundred years". :-)
wow it must of been an amazing experience I envy in the good way here in California well we didn't see much haha..good job with the video one of the best I seen..oh keep posting those amazing carving videos..have a good day...
Thank you very much! I'm sorry you didn't get to see the whole thing from where you were. That's why I wanted to get this out for you and others to see.
Awesome! Here in Sonora, Mexico, wasn't that spectacular. I took some of my students out of the classroom to watch it meanwhile others remained inside; there are lots of myths here about eclipses.

Was that a personal spot that you go to often? Didn't seem like many people knew of good local vantage points.
