it looks massive and beautiful, i hope the destination isn't just used for public events and seasonal activities but i hope it's big enough to feel like we're actually exploring
i wouldnt be surprised if its IO 2.0
I would be careful in setting high expectations for the pale heart, as they said in the August showcase that it will be Destiny’s first “linear” world space (for the sake of narrative I believe).
I don’t think that means it will inherently suck; just that you won’t be able to explore it like you would the dreaming city or the throne world.
Set your expectations low, bossman.

The differences in art directions are absolutely stunning! Love it!
Facts
The entire destiny universe (apart from Neomuna sorry…) looks phenomenal. One of the most consistent positive aspects of the entire game.

@@sunshotwithanornament2475 in a different context maybe. If they’de left the discovery of a funkie new civilisation til after final shape it be far more forgivable. But the largely empty 80’s style city with bright colours and surfer dude cloud striders. The whole tone of the environment clashed horribly with the dire narrative being told there, I can’t look past that tbh.

It seems like the darkness of environment that we loved so much in D1 is coming back. Can’t wait to see it in game, to search secrets and puzzles there.

@@lysander7578I was 14 when this franchise began, 10 years later, 23 years old, it’s been quite the ride. This game has both blessed and oppressed my life. Despite destiny’s many flaws, this game or more specifically this saga, was a once in a generation endeavour for gaming. The next time we get a 10 year story to unfold like this for a game will be when we’re probably middle aged. I’m just hoping this climax doesn’t disappoint.

@@isaiahling9716 I doubt I'm the first one to tell ya this but with about 3-4 exceptions, ALL of D1 and D2 expansions have flopped. Not many people will defend more than Taken king, witch queen, and forsaken. Not these days anyway. The only reason this game continued to exist was the live service business model. If they tried releasing D1 like a normal game, we wouldn't have gotten D2, and probably not most of the DLC for D1. And that's coming from a guy who has played all of this. I've been a Bungie fan since Marathon and it kinda stings to see how the mighty have fallen. Predatory micro transactions, abysmal story quality, almost no cohesion to narrative flow and pacing, world building is either inconsequential, tucked away on a 3rd party access, or not relevant to the story at large, etc. Destiny and it's live service model have been a detriment to the gaming industry as a whole. The Final Shape is a dollar sign and the sunken cost fallacy will ensure most people don't acknowledge or even realize that.
This location looks so diverse, so many different environments, so many pretty landscapes. Really do think it has potential to be the best destination of all time! I hope it has unique things to explore beyond just the typical things found on every other destination

Damn this place is HUGE
I really think there should be big activities like the rise of iron or lightfall gave us.
And real large areas, with more than one traversal pathways between them.
It would feel much less like sectioned areas and feel more like an exploratory maze.
They’ve already gone on record saying it wont be the standard circle type map, but instead more of a journey, a “linear” style map this time, like the environment is reacting to your actions. I’m excited tk see how its pulled off

Been playing since D1 “The Dark Below” expansion, and I gotta say that the witness wasn’t even expected. But seeing an enemy bigger and badder than the Hive has been a crazy experience.

Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

@@cease-desistno, just lazily put together. They put the essential plot points in their seasons rather than in lightfall. It was also lazily written as it was just beyond light except we had already done it all before so it was just lame. Also the fact that the stakes were supposed to be super high with the traveler but instead we spent the entire campaign playing with silly string.

It looks like the layout of the map may be different for everybody considering that most parts look like cuboids and there are only a select few big parts where I guess the main storybeats will take place.
Either way I love the direction this is going in and I think a world generated location could be epic if done right!

This looks awesome. I feel like the Annihilation movie/book definitely helped inspire the setting. I love the idea of Pale Heart shaping and reshaping beings and landscapes. Very cosmic horror. Love it
After playing Warframe, this looks seemingly familiar to some locations in Duviri Paradox.
There better be a song with a TON of motifs from previous dlc themes, raids, ect. That would be the icing on the cake.
The music and Art Direction twam almost never fail in destiny. Even IF the expansion is rough, the mysic and art will be STELLAR, without a doubt

What I wonder with every destination trailer is how much of what we see is traversable and how much is just sky boxes
For final shape y’all could make the D1 year three trials armor with the glow an ornament set for those who make it to Ascendant. If you wanted to go a step further you could make each piece or armor a special challenge that unlocks at Ascendant.
