These are the 20 candidates to the election of the Top 10 best Motorcycles of 2018.
This election took place between 28/12/2018 and 15/01/2019.
The end results will be published during the following weeks.
The 20 Cafe Racers shown in this video, are some of the best Motorcycles presented by Racer TV during the year of 2018.
My special thanks to Pedro Torres, for his great help with my english.

All the motorcycle built with such passion & so much creativity. I almost couldn't decided which one is perhaps the best among the best.... but I have to choose no. 11 such a progressive & visioner cafe racer.... no. 10 also stole my heart too, but no. 11 it is I believe as the caferacer of 2018, cheers.
Once again my friend, the choices this year are even more difficult to make. You have made this very difficult with all 20 beautiful motorcycles! OMG Racer TV how are we mere mortals supposed to make a choice as you have surpassed your self again !! It is as a small child looking in a sweet shop window i like and want them all !! Racer you have made this very difficult with 20 magic motorcycles. I think they are all super cool looking bikes, but I will pick one when I watch the video another ten times. I do believe those CX (and Virago) engines not only sound amazing but they're both a solid foundation for sculpting a sweet Cafe. Those beemers for instance, altho' great mechanically, they are too bulky and clumsy looking in my mind, but hey, that's what I like myself, that don't mean I am right or anything. Which is a wonderful thing !
What you, and your site have managed to accomplish is, you have pushed the level of design work to a much greater level of refinement !
Each year gets just that much more difficult !
You while perhaps unintentional, have succeeded in the refinement of what was already a very tough field of designers, and builders !

In my opinion Vintage Room Motorcycle made the most beautiful café racer last year. (No 8) I am not a BMW fan but that's a masterpiece. I prefer V2 so I would be very excited to see a Monster or a 848 CR.

Like every year the election is always difficult, so many motorcycles and all of them are great projects. But my choice is the closest to the classic lines. Excellent Selection, difficult to choose. My opinion, Cafe Racers shoul be made from old bikes, fixing it up, to then turn it into a cafe racer makes it full of fun. Great bikes all of them. Ill go for the #5. my personal opinion. Great job
It is impossible to choose. All of these bikes are beautiful builds. There is no “best one” but more like “best twenty”.

I voted only for two The Triumph #4 and the Yamaha 750 #10. But honestly the Triumph is way beyond all the others. You had 7 BMW's but 1 would have been sufficient.🙄

My vote goes to the HONDA CX 500 By National Custom Tech Motorcycles. I think they convined perfectly the new stiles with the old stiles.

That the current cafe racer trend, to my eyes, seems to be drifting away from the concept.
I guess that's why I went with 3, 6, 10, 11, 15, 18.
10 might get my top vote, but I was looking for simplicity of form, and beautiful lines.
The big tyres are not wearing well with time.
Neither the short seats (the current fad).
Also, I'm beginning to question scrambler tyres on a cafe racer.
Even, as I look back on my choices ... many were made with sympathy for the builder.
... but somehow the simplicity of style seems to have been lost within the glory of complexity.
Perhaps 15 is my top vote - the Beamer of Dragons motorcycles could easily be top.
... it has mudguards (at least), a perfect headlight combination with the forks and braces, a tank with knee moulding, and tyres that look purposeful.
... and the complexity of the motor is masked by the simplicity of the motorcycle.
So ... 10 looks like it breaks the speed limit when static, while 15 looks like somebody has stripped their bike, and created a cafe racer.
That's the concept of 15, and it's captured perfectly.
So fine!
It isn't an AJS 500 twin with drops or clip-ons .... but it could be.
I guess therefore that 3,6,10,11,18 are now blown away (sorry).
What we can see is that the cafe racer concept can still be delivered in 2018.

I think there should be two sections of cafe racers, traditional and modern. Most of these bikes bear little resemblance to the original concept of cafe racers. I can only assume that they are designed for pose value, and not to be ridden. No mudguards, and ridiculous tyres must mean if there's any chance of rain, the bike is wrapped in cotton wool, and stored in the garage. Original cafe racers were based loosely on the design of grand prix bikes, but they were also designed to be ridden.
Yes, I understand what your said. I already talked about that matter in other videos.Nowadays, the original purpose of the old motorcycles
customized like the original Cafe Racers, does not make sense anymore.
If we follow the pure perspective of those Cafe Racers, we would end
with something similar to a modern Yamaha R1. And this means that this
rebirth of the "cafe racer" scene, must have a different approach. :)

Don't get me wrong, the workmanship that has gone into these bikes is amazing. I worked as a bike mechanic in the 60s and 70s so I guess my view is somewhat biased. However I dread the thought of punting some some of these bikes around a race track, and to me that is the ultimate test of a good cafe racer. cheers.

There are all so beautiful,clean and outstanding it's impossible for me to vote for only 10. This is what I used to build a few years ago after I had a horrible divorce. It gave me direction ,peace and the ability to put my heart and soul into something ugly and to finish with something of absolute beauty.the last was a 1991 yamaha seca2 known as a diversion where you live.only 1 person knew what he was seeing as he was a 25 year veteran sales employee.everyone else wh clapped eyes on her assumed she was a Ducati,so I guess I did a good job. 1st what is your name and if ok with you how can I reach you. This would all be in order to keep in touch and you have my word I will never divulge your contact info to any one. I am aged 54 and God has plans for me still and if I can stay around these beautiful machines for the years I have left I will have accomplished a life long dream. My 47 years of riding are going to waste.i do not want notoriety I just want my hands on and the ability to see others like yourself take in the beauty of creations or what can be done to bring back cycles and all that goes with them
