make decisions that is difficult, there is always the doubt of performing them correctly. The good thing about metal is that it can be cut and welded again, but it is a costly way to design. That's why photography and photoshop is an insurmountable medium, if one is not a genius of drawing. You do not need to be either, but remember that the Renaissance geniuses, like Leonardo used the proportions that have already been said in a perfect way. Thank you friend, it's a return to what I learned in your previous videos, but with an application in the metal. It will serve me a lot

Once again, excellent video and advice. I have taken many project's to fruition knowing it would fail, some of these had been started many many times, but dropped when they started to fail. I picked them up and ran with them to completion, simply to show where and how they failed, the end result gave me all the data I needed to see what went wrong, why it went wrong, and most importantly how I could change the outcome, and put them to bed once and for all. Getting it wrong can be every bit as important as getting it right, and making sure that you have documented the results means that no one will waste expensive time and resources on going over the same thing as a dozen others have done before. Imho the side panels you chose were much nicer.

Please use some imagination when reading this:
When you are having a bad day, or someone is trying to speak down to you or is being negative, or there is unnecessary grief happening to you, this is the exact sound that I zone out to:
Example: "Why are you riding, its so dangerous, you don't need a bike, you ride too fast, its a waste of ti........... (fades to 1:26) ........" ***Their mouth is still moving***

I’m 17 and have started building my bike 1 year ago.
It may take 2 more years for me to finish it.
I’m not lazy, nor broke, I just want to think and rethink everyhing until its perfect.

Sorry if i am putting a lot of pressure on you. But you have to consider that all i said, is more suitable for difficult motorcycles(Like the Honda CX). If you try a cafe racer project on an Old Honda CB, or an old BMW R series, it would be a lot easier to make it loo good with only simple changes. In a way, i think you are right about my jacket and my helmet that my mechanic is using on some clips of this video, because i bought them thinking also on this project. But curiously, this helmet and jacket also stay very good when i ride my little Honda CB 125 twin. Lol. Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.

RACER TV ....... I’m 64 years young! I’ve been riding over 52 years. Started when I was 12 on a little Honda Super 90. Then, soon afterwards bought a CB160, then a newer CB160, then a Honda SL175, then a Suzuki TS250 dual sport. The list goes on and on.... By 1969, I started working on all my friends motorcycles as well as my own. Living in a small rural community in East Tennessee, there was no where to buy parts or repair work without traveling over 50 miles to a big city. I was a new Bultaco dealer and sold new Suzukis for a dealership about 60 miles away. My friend and I raced motocross and enduro until the mid-80’s. I can’t count the number of off road miles (and on-road) miles I’ve ridden. Nor, do I have any idea how many motorcycles I’ve owned, but over 50. When I was 15, my mother told me that the motorcycle had gotten into my blood! Now, after all these years, I think maybe I know what she meant. “I can see the line, feel the bars twitch, hear the leaves rustle, see the wind, smell the pines and pre-mix in the air, anytime; because I believe!” Quote: Willy Austin .... that’s me, because the motorcycle is in my blood. By the way, today, I ride a KTM 350 EXC-F, Kawasaki ZRX1200R, a Suzuki SV650, and of course a Harley. We’ve had a Suzuki GS750E (844) in the conversion to a Café Racer for sometime and only work on it as time allows. Thank you for asking my dear friend.

RACER TV .......... Yes, my son and I enjoy the opportunity to spend time together doing what we truly enjoy. I remember the Café scene as it was described in ‘Cycle’ magazine in the mid-sixties. My first Honda CB160, was basically stripped by me to look like the original British Café bikes. Straight pipes, no front fender, lowered bars, no mirrors ...... a 13 year olds perception of a Café machine! Lol... it was fun.... later I got into off-road racing. But have always enjoyed riding the mountain roads of East Tennessee, but have ridden out in the Western US as well. I have so many memories of riding and racing... no room to share them all. But, I genuinely appreciate your effort, ability, and the artistic side that presents the Café, both old and new in a way that is appreciated by your audience. Again, thank you for Racer TV, the Café Racers Only Choice! Ride Safe my friend.

Thank you. I always find your work interesting. Form always has to follow function. I am a mech.eng engineer. Before any artistic considerations a motorcycle has to work properly and safely. There are structural considerations, the components must be up to doing the job.
You appear to have managed to convert the Honda CX into a Guzzi V7 look-alike.
And then there are some artistic considerations, following form, and the historical precedent of such bikes.
A café racer should always be capable of getting your best girl on the back, it should always have a pillion. Historically this was its primary function even if the lad didn't have a girlfriend. The pillion seat should be of ample dimensions and as low as practicable, she won't want to use a ladder to get on.
A café racer is not a sports bike, it never was. There is no need for the tail in the air look when there is only about 4-inches of suspension travel; 18-inches of empty space just looks gappy.
Historically the café racer was probably the chap's only means of transport and used in all weathers; it should have mudguards and does not look right with minimal cut-down ones (it's going all sports bike look again). If it looks like a sports bike, it's not a café racer.
The epitome of the british café racer was probably the RE 250cc Continental GT, itself a factory customised special version of the Continental, with its italian styled tank and bum-stop dual seat, and full mudguards. This was the culmination and last gasp of the 60s british café racer and should be use as the template.
At 65yo, sadly my back no longer does full-on café racers, but I do ride an Enfield and a Guzzi V7, and can still take my best girl to the seaside.

No, is is a sort of Special fabric that is looks like a sort of velvet. In a way, i understand what you say. The main problem, is the color
configuration of my camera, which exaggerates the real tone of the
colors, especially the brown color. I can assure you that the real tone
of the color seat is much darker and subtle then on this video. Try to

What model is that? " I hear this kind of questions all the time. And the best part of all, i can always say, "i designed it". :) Cheers.
