Tim, I am Southeast Missouri. In this area active cemeteries are typically owned by funeral homes. However, there are a few (very few) active ones still associated with churches. However typically these congregations are older and upkeep suffers because of this. Also it is usually these older members that are placed there. Much more common for older cemeteries, is again associated with churches, but neither are currently active, often the church building is no longer there. The least common is a family plot, often the surrounding land is no longer owned by the family snd often there is no family in the area. These last 2 groups are often overgrown and totally uncared for. It is great to see that this one is taken care of and you helping to clear next to the field.
I found duals too obstructive on my steiner 430. Now that I'm only using it for personal use singles with 3" spacers will do 95% of what i need. If it's too wet i can wait for drier weather, and there's nothing too steep for just spacers on my current property. I've also found that using the weight transfer springs and rear ballast really keeps the machine planted and going where I want it to on side hills.
Great video tim Vinnie sure does a great job on the slopes and thank you and Kristy or helping out the cemetery that really helped them out hopefully we get to see the power rake in action.
Hey Tim, thank you again. I know you have connections. Let me know if you get ahold of a dozer. And we can move some some dirt to make that mowable.. Yes the power rake could do the job. But one of your tractors and a dump trailer. With a dozer pushing grade would be awesome to do for this cemetery and for the people mowing.. Thank you again for your time and energy for our entertainment and education..
Those dual wheels going on and off relatively easy is a great design in itself. If one needs something like the Ventrac it would certainly be worth the price.
The GOAT of all things tractors is at the again! When do you rest? How many videos do you work on weekly basis... I am impressed with you work ethic and your professionalism. I love Tractor Time with Tim, the channel and content. Please keep them!
Driving home a few days ago the New Jersey Turnpike Authority has purchased Vinnies to do the mowing very interesting. They are using the double wheels.
Part of my property in Florida had a fenced in area of a good size. It hadn't been mowed in years. The Live oak tree all the limbs were touching the ground. I started with a Cub cadet trimmer and it burnt up. So off I went to the stihl dealer and bought a 130R trimmer and working for a few days in the hot sun got the weeds down and they were up to my waist. I had a brand new Gravelly commercial zero turn mower but I wasn't sure what I might find and it was a good thing. One of the previous owners was a cop and that was where he kept his police dog and I found a metal bar with a log chain, which would have damaged my new mower. After getting rid of the bar and chain I could keep it mowed down. My property here in Missouri has been a challenge on it's own with all the junk laying everywhere.
It’s so hard to tell the topography from the video, but I wonder if you could adjust the grade from the edge of the road to the corn field and at least have a consistent slope? With the farmers permission and after the field is harvested of course. Great video and good luck!
Tim. Some dirt work would be helpful for his mowing. It would be interesting for a video too. Also, check out Altoz zero turn mowers. They have tracked models that are quite stable on embankments, although they may not be a capable as Vinny. They also have a rough cut deck option that has chain guards and swinging blades like your bat wing mower. Neat zero turn mowers for those who need dedicated mowers. No, I don't have one, nor need one. I just think they have some great concepts. Todd
I would love to find a decent used ventral to reclaim a piece of farmland we just acquired that hasn’t been touched in 15 plus years I thought about using a skid steer and a mulched but for my purposes I think the ventral might work better
Tim I have a friend from a city where I lived a few years ago that gas a youtube channel (mowing mostly). He has a Ventrac, and usually does steep areas up and down instead on running across the slope. I do not think he has duals for his.
Yes, definitely easier to mow slopes up and down. However, how could I do that in this area? Would take forever, assuming I could make the turn at the bottom without hitting corn.
Tim, I have a question maybe you could look into. Operating on hillsides and soft ground, as well as doing snow removal almost necessitates a crawler, but since the original JD 420, there have been a dearth of small ag crawlers available in the US for the rural lifestyle market. Looking at what is available today, the closest fit for my operation looks like a Chinese made YTO c602, which seems to retail for around the same price point as a modest compact tractor, between $15,000 and $18,000. It claims to be based on a UK engineered design, presumably a Massey Ferguson. I think you will agree that this seems like an ideal solution for a rural homesteader type, where small woodlot and snow removal are key requirements, as is the ability to run 3 point hitch agricultural implements in the middle horsepower range. Yet, I can find very little reliable information about YTO sales in the US. Maybe you would be interested in this situation and would contribute your experience to answering some questions around this type of product. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
I have never heard of it until your comment. No idea where we could find one! You are right. No us small dozers anymore. I’m just not sure the USA market agrees with your premise anymore. Ventrac is a good example of wheeled hillside unit.

When the Ventrac starts crab walking on a steep slope, nudge the deck upwards to put more weight on the front wheels and the tractor will track much better.
Me and my family love watching your videos of farm equipment and how to use them that mower you are using in this video. Do they offer it in a diesel or is it just gas? Thanks you 😊
I bought a diesel with duals and chains,. Its a fantastic machine. I mow spoil banks on our reclaimed strip mine with slopes up to 28 degrees. Using a ventrac across slopes is so much faster then going up and down.

@@TractorTimewithTim I love the fact they are built in my home state. I like the ideal of one machine that does it all. But the cost. Ventrac needs to get the price down and the sales up!
I’d love to be buried on my farm. My dad died just over ten years ago and I feel I failed not to push for him to be buried on the farm. I think I will get a grave stone and put it there so there is some form of link of the farm to him. My parents bought the farm in 1972 and he loved it there.
Two reasons. 1) it would take forever. 1/4 mile of 20’ back and forth 5-6’ at a time! 2) I don’t think I could have made the turn at the bottom consistently without hitting the corn.
the people in the cemetary (are not very active) comment ... i heard a two seater plane crashed there ... they are not sure of the death count as they are still digging up bodies

There is no other machine I know of that could do that!! That Ventrac 4520 is Fantastic!!

Another fun video, Thank you. Oh that slope, I think I could see a little cheek flexing on your part there😅
Remarkable piece of equipment and operator.
Here in the Mid-South, cemeteries located out in counties the upkeep is usually lacking.
Excellent result for the conditions!
Thats a tractor and side flail job you did very well with what you had
I sure like Vinny wish I could afford one. Great video Tim and Christy.
That is a nice rig.
I remember seeing these ventracs advertised ad-nauseum on youtube. They looked like quite the capable machine for being so compact.

Nice job Tim!
sneezed a few times watching the mowing
Great video!
Great pictures of crabbing on a steep slope which doesn't have much height!
Always here for a Vinny episode. 😎 Would like to see the power rake as you suggest in that spot, too!

Good Sunday morning
All good!
Would it have been easier to do the really steep parts from top down, or that can be less controlled when you slide on the cut grass?
yeah thats a pro tool ... even with those wide tires that slide has to induce a pucker factor
Thats a mowing beast I have a bush hog that wouldn't do what that has done I would be breaking shear pins
Wonder if they make LSW single tires for that Machine.! 🤔

Was wondering, is that a finish mower or a brush style cutter?

What size of a trailer do we need to keep the duel wheels on a little space on the trailer on the sides? Steve from WV
Say 75” inside the fenders.
Mine is about 72”. I love my narrow trailer, cept for this one instance.
Ok thanks
Get a big sacrificial v belt and a piece of pipe to remove the dual
Or get this handy dual wheel tool. Good grief!

those were yucca plants you mowed
