- They’re Bacccckkkkkk!! After nearly 30 years, the Sanderson sisters grace us with their campy, spooky, and bewitchingly hilarious presence again! With an adorable cast of (apparently) famous younglings, the magic of the original movie was recreated and modernized for the smartphone era! It’s a fun, weird, ridiculous movie that hits the sweet spot of tenderness inside of the hollow space where my heart used to be. This is our first time reacting to this movie, and we stayed up until midnight to watch it premier, so we could react to it first thing in the morning! We hope you enjoy the film as much as we did, and happy Halloween!

First Time Watching Hocus Pocus 2 Two - Розваги
The book crying means he probably has seen many witches use this spell many times and didnt want anyone else to use it, the witch at the beginning had purple eyes and she did say she did lose her Coven or it was long gone, Winnifred got purple eyes after she did the last incantation.
Her coven was destroyed by people stating the world isn’t too fond of witches

@@Shadowpuppets sorry but the emotion during that scene we can deduce she did the same spell. Yes she mentions the world not fond of witches but clearly that wasn’t the whole truth. She obvici wanted Winnifred to learn that lesson herself if the time came. Even in her face expressions; Almost mischievous When she warns about it
I interpreted it as the book cries cause it’s no longer Winnifred’s. Yea maybe because of the curse but also it was mourning her because up until this point the book held out that she would return but this was final. He was no longer hers. When the book finally opens up to the spell to reunite, it knew it would be final and take her to them. It had to say goodbye to her.
Hannah Waddingham was in this movie for less than five minutes, and she was my favorite character. If I ran into her Witch Mother in the woods, I’d do whatever she said. She could curse me, turn me into a toad….and I’d thank her.
Theory: I think The Witch Mother lost her Coven by doing Magicia Maxmia herself.

The third one will be them bringing back the Sisters to help defeat the Mother Witch. They won’t be powerful and that’s where Allison from the original comes back just in time as the supreme witch to defeat the Mother by joining them. My theory is Allison is related to Winifred. Winifred had a secret child who she gave up, and the bloodline continued
Them not winning the Sanderson Sisters lookalike contest reminds me of the story of Dolly Parton losing a lookalike contest to a drag queen lmao
That was pretty good. It didn't take itself too seriously, and I wouldn't even call the last few minutes a redemption from Winnie, more like... moving from Chaotic Evil to Neutral Evil. I would like to see the sequel, perhaps older New Coven taking on Hannah Waddingham.
it actually gets on my nerves that people were mad at the end. Winnie loves her sisters and it was just as obvious in the first one
@@marahbaker8615 and it gets on my nerves that some (mostly gen z) actually thought this was a good follow up to the original... Clearly didn't watch the same movie because the only positive in this film was the trio. Everything outside that, including the story and new cast lacked heart and was all in all pretty meh.. Literally felt like they were just there to be there. 5/10 and that 5 is only awarded to the nostalgia factor the 3 witches brought to it. Nothing else mattered.

As someone who remembers when the original was released, I was so happy to see younger folx really enjoying #2 so much.
Because I grew up with the first one I didn’t love the second as much as you did but I still really enjoyed it. I thought they did a great job with a sequel 29 years later.

I love how you don't need to have seen the original. This movie explained everything with the opening in the past explaining the witches and their book, followed by the story about the candle that can resurrect them. Best thing they did was making the movie a sequel and having the original witches back for their roles. The funny moments felt so natural as the witches had been dead for so long they didn't know anything about the modern world

If they did make another movie I hope they show the book corrupting at least one of them. Despite it not wanting to sisters to die, it's still a book filled with evil spells. No good can come of it.

I didn’t think I’d say this about Hocus Pocus 2, but I think it might become a Halloween staple for me.
Also, I may or may not find reasons to say “don’t knock it cause you can’t handle it” after this
Some little Easter Eggs:
- Each of the girls from the New Coven, is dressed in the color palette of the Sanderson Sisters (Becca is green, Izzy is in reds/oranges, Cassie is in pinks/purples)
- Cobweb could be John Pritchett, which would explain the human-like spirit.
- If you look closely, The Mother Witch’s eyes glow purple just as she was about to eat young Sarah. I think she too also did Magicia Maxima, and that’s how she lost her Coven and why she was such a stickler about the sisters not using it. Could also lead to how she practically sensed Becca specifically at the end of the movie while following the New Coven (family descendant perhaps).
- “I’m not like Winnifred.” That definitely could’ve been a subtle hint that maybe Becca IS like Winnifred, in a sense that she is a descendant of her. A secret child Winnie gave up, and the line continued…maybe to *Alison* and then Becca.

It's obviously not as good or better than the original, but it was fun and at times that's all you really need from a movie

90s movies has a lot of good comical, campy, fun movies like Hocus Pocus, Death Becomes Her, The Addams Family, Evil Dead series, and yes, Batman Returns. Even Hercules and Xena series has some degree of camp.
Kinda wish it come back in some form. I'm kinda bored with 'It doesn't make sense, thus it's bad.' Come on, where's the fun in that?

the movie was good, but it was missing something.... the original cast. They deserved atleast cameos, they were a large part of what made the original a classic. They didnt have to get everyone, but atleast Ice and his friend with the laugh. Those 2 id imagine would still be in Salem somewhere. Would have loved to see Thora Birch's character all grown up, probably with a family of her own. They coulds have done any of that but didnt so it will always be disappointing in that regard.
If I remember correctly, they were very transparent when they originally announce this, that they weren’t going to be acomimg back probably. I believe the actor who plays Max doesn’t even act anymore Thora Birch, I believe was a conflict in schedule And was asked to come back
A friend of mine and I were talking and this film the way it was set up very much screams middle movie to a trilogy. If There’s plans for a third one I bet that it would involve them. As The whole they still put five characters that were beloved in the film which is hard enough to do. They were lucky when they landed, Bette Midler. Sometimes there’s no pleasing people apparently. People were complaining that they didn’t give enough screen time for the teenagers and if they would’ve done that then people would’ve complained there wasn’t enough Sanderson sister action. This type of thing nobody can win I would just be happy with what we got.
There’s also an issue with how would they have fit in? The cast is already pretty large for this type of production. They would have to introduce three new characters as well as bring back the five I mentioned on top of three more.
Thora Birch was asked to appear in the movie, but I believe she had another project that conflicted with the schedule. She couldn’t cameo.
I just didn't like how they passed the book to the new ones.
